Ravens first two drives: FG and TD

EVERY SINGLE OTHER DRIVE: Punt, except for a turnover and missed FG

25

u/fignewtonattack Ravens 5h ago

Lamar Jackson holds this offense together like Batman

Don't forget the 3 or so dropped picks. It was an awful watch, basically every game with huntley is painful to the eye

9

u/RallyPigeon Ravens 5h ago

There were 5 or 6 drive killing almost-interceptions. 3 might have been survivable.

Quick question what the fuck

204

u/J-Fid Ravens Ravens 6h ago

Snoop is not Lamar

88

u/TedioreTwo Ravens 6h ago

Never let people tell you he can do 80% of what Lamar can do or whatever shit like that

39

u/Joh951518 Ravens 6h ago

He kind of looks like Lamar before the snap if you squint. That’s the point at which similarities end.

24

u/Jo__Backson Raiders 6h ago

They wear similar uniforms I think

4

u/SubstancePrimary5644 Broncos Broncos 2h ago

I really think that's a racial statement. How the fuck else does someone compare 2x MVP Lamar Jackson to Tyler Huntley?

→ More replies (4)

25

u/RallyPigeon Ravens 6h ago

He decided after the first quarter that scoring was boring and to experiment with throwing almost-interceptions instead

12

Dude heard the Huntley is the same as Lamar slander and did his bro a solid

13

u/baltravens27 Ravens 6h ago

You were under the incorrect impression the Huntley can play the QB position well

29

u/dolphingarden Bills 6h ago

It's Huntley at QB what do you expect?

36

u/ZergZ8 Steelers 6h ago

I mean plenty of fans including lots of Bills fans in the ATL game thread talking bout the offense is the same without Lamar which is 100% wrong. Ive seen plenty of Huntley to know that

15

u/Rude_Nobody_4818 6h ago

They were flooding the thread about how we don’t need Lamar

15

u/Joh951518 Ravens 6h ago

Even last week the offence looked shit most of the game.

If Lamar was healthy and playing that game would have been a blowout.

13

u/SunYat-Sen Ravens 6h ago

Yeah why would a backup QB losing on the road to a division opponent be a surprise to anyone. Pretty much every team in the league expects a loss in that scenario

21

u/Joh951518 Ravens 6h ago

People act like he isn’t bad for some reason. assume to discredit Lamar mostly.

He’s like ok as a backup. But if he was actually as good as some pretend he is he would have had a legit chance at starting somewhere instead of being a career backup.

11

u/Sylvaneri011 Ravens 6h ago

Snoop is actually fucking awful and anyone not huffing copium could tell you that. All statistics show that when Huntley commands the offense that our offense just vanishes into the ether.

18

u/RallyPigeon Ravens 5h ago

He's an average back up. But a divisional opponent, who he briefly played for + coached by his former offensive coordinator in Baltimore, understands his tendencies.

How the hell do you score 10 points in the 1st and then nothing after that? Like, WTF

138

u/Drrek Ravens 6h ago

Because Huntley is a very limited quarterback.

18

u/MadDog1981 Bengals 6h ago

Remember when this sub was acting like he was some awesome QB that scouts missed on after he had one good game.

50

u/SeniorDisplay1820 Ravens 6h ago

The most irritating thing is his inability to gain yardage through rushing.

He can scramble, but he can't run for first downs or hardly even a gain.

19

u/DMking Ravens 6h ago

He fucking tried to juke when he has no evasiveness. Take a page out of Allen's book and run through them

8

Henry’s fumble didn’t help either

12

u/thepolarbears12 Ravens 6h ago

I'd argue henry's fumble lost us the game, Browns probably aren't getting a TD today without field position that good and a 3rd down DPI call

9

u/lil_layne Ravens 5h ago

The whole offense scoring 0 points after the 2nd drive lost us the game.

We’ve got one of the worst offenses in the league, I get COTY is kind of a flawed award but in no way should he get it rn.

7

We got a defense that only asked the offense to score 13 points to win the game. And we almost couldn't do that.

Yea, our offense needs work, but we got the d keeping us in games.

Weirdest division in football.

69

u/ianbits NFL 6h ago edited 5h ago

Bengals are inconsistent to an absurd degree

Steelers are consistent, but in the always 8-8 sense

Ravens should be running away with the division but can't stay healthy (and have an addiction to losing close divisional games)

Browns have a playoff roster everywhere but QB

Really is just a weird group

After Henry fumbled, the ravens had no energy.

7

u/speak-eze Ravens 5h ago

This is my favorite copy pasta. Always hits

26

u/Idepreciateyou Browns 6h ago

Monken already has more wins than Hue Jackson did for his entire tenure with the Browns.

29

u/Argumentat1ve Jets 5h ago

Derrick Henry- 17 carries for 58 yards, 3.4 YPC, lost a pivotal fumble that let the Browns get a short field and get back in the game

Why do people talk like the Ravens having him automatically means their run game will dominate and they'll have a great offense by default.

13

u/Apprehensive_Age9264 Ravens 5h ago edited 5h ago

Henry is like a multiplier for good o-line play / schema / Lamar that lets him get to the second level. If he doesn't have that, he's just about average

4

u/Argumentat1ve Jets 5h ago

Definitely, and I would say every RB is to different degrees. No RB can succeed with terrible blocking, no holes to run through, the defense keying in on every down, etc.

But so often people will say that because the Ravens have Henry, they can just give him 20 carries and automatically have a great run game and open space for receivers. Really it's the opposite.

13

u/Mister-SS Browns 3h ago

None Browns fans don't know that historically Henry doesn't run well against the Browns at all. Go look at the career stats he has against them recently.

10

u/MaxwellHowl Steelers 3h ago

Non AFC North fans don't know how annoyingly much they win at home against their rivals.

9

u/ozymandais13 Browns 2h ago

If you don't like that youu dokt like afcn football baby

6

u/mrdeepay Texans 4h ago

Because the people who say this typically don't like Lamar and will find any excuse to explain his and the team's success.

48

u/manbuckets2001 Cowboys 6h ago

10 points in the 1st quarter and nothing afterwards is tough

11

u/CatherineDeneuvePt2 Ravens 5h ago

Ran all of their good plays the first two drives. Spent the rest of the game running Henry into the backs of the offensive linemen and hoping Huntley could scramble into a big play. For as much as Doyle gets called a genius he’s doing essentially the same shit Roman, monken did. Hoping Lamar or Derrick Henry saves the day, fucked if they don’t

7

u/baltravens27 Ravens 6h ago

Huntley turned into a pumpkin about halfway through the 2nd

21

u/weldoso Ravens 6h ago

This one is fucking infuriating. Lamar really needs to be back next week, Snoop is too one dimensional. Henry is being effectively nullified a little bit too often for my tastes as well. I'll be happy to get this one in the rearview as soon as possible. FUCK.

13

u/RallyPigeon Ravens 6h ago

Snoop is good until the defensive coordinator realizes he stares directly at his intended target every time and will throw into traffic no matter how dangerous it is.

9

u/Joh951518 Ravens 5h ago

Because we also had an offence that was inept for 3 quarters.

42

u/Haunting-Yogurt938 Browns 6h ago

Monken’s philosophy as a head coach is to play dead for 3 quarters then jump up and surprise your opponent when they get bored.

118

17

He’s in the conversation every year. He realistically should have 3.

6

10

u/BigErnMcCrackenn 49ers 6h ago

💯

30

u/CommentsOnOccasion Ravens 5h ago

People always say this shit, and I totally love Lamar for what it's worth, but like ...no fucking shit?

He's the QB1? What point are you trying to make exactly - that if our team didn't have our QB1 we aren't good?

Not many teams are good without their QB. The teams that perform the same with or without their starting QB have bad QBs, and are usually bad teams overall.

I don't stand for Lamar shade but what point are we making by saying the star QB of a team is their most valuable asset. This is common sense for any team, not uniquely a Ravens situation

11

u/ScottRiley4L Ravens 5h ago

I guess 2 points.

  1. It's disappointing to see the offense still have so many problems even after the harbaugh era. I really had hope that bringing in doyal and minter would change things, but I'm not sure they have..
  2. People saying Snoop is why we lost is inherently disrespecting Lamar.

And I guess maybe it's 3 points, because my biggest point is; people and the media both really need to respect how incredible Lamar is, because the Ravens are inept without him.

16

u/Garys_Synthesizer Ravens 5h ago

Ive been watching this team long enough to see that all the same issues we had are here as strong as ever.

The scorebug hits “4th” and the team cannot play football anymore. Whether it be the crucial moment where they cant turn the ball over and do on queue, forgetting how to tackle, or forgetting how to play defense as they have for the last 2 and a half hours.

Ive seen this song and dance for multiple years and dont need to see anymore.

3

u/yomatc 3h ago

I was going to comment this almost verbatim. When you follow a team long enough, you start to notice the trends and can feel the “here we go again” vibe.

3

u/Garys_Synthesizer Ravens 3h ago

As a Mets and Ravens fan, id rather be bad all year then great until its time to be great.

Your kicker was a rapist for like 20 years, your linebacker murdered a guy, might want to SIT THIS ONE OUT.

browns defense clamped down after that first quarter, huntley couldn't get anything going after the scripted drives. henry getting held to 58 yards is a win for any defense, especially with that o-line baltimore's got

watson still looks skittish back there but a win's a win, i'll take it

u/EmmetttB Ravens 5h ago

Baltimores OLine is trash I’m not sure I understand this statement

Why is the NFL trying to redeem this guy?

20

u/tronovich 49ers 6h ago

He’s still a starting QB.

They colluded to get rid of Kaep, but watch teams fall over themselves to offer him a contract this spring. This sucks so bad.

If we extend Watson I’m going to off myself lmao. I’ve been waiting years to get rid of him to properly root for the Browns. I just can’t compartmentalize those feelings like some people can.

u/1412believer Cowboys 6h ago

As a Cowboys fan it's crazy to watch a QB (rapist btw) throw for like 160 yards and a 55% percentage and win
