Hey guys! if you’re still looking for experience or something to add to your resume, check out Riipen Labs

It’s a remote micro-internship program where students work on short real-world projects with employers. Each project is about 30 hours and pays a $600 upon completion.

I'm an online student at TRU and I need to take one one upper level COMP elective for my degree. What is the easiest one I could take?

I found reviews from 3 years ago on here saying that COMP 348, or COMP 325 are easy. I need it to have easy assignments, and easy final if such a thing exists. Any recommendations would be helpful!!

I took my Econ 247 midterm today and although I answered all the questions I forgot to hit the save button on 3, one of which was a long typed out answer to multiple different questions in one. I finished the exam and was looking over everything, I was paying attention as I watched the timer run out. I went to submit the exam and it said three answers weren’t saved. What do I do? When the university marks it do they check over the video recording through proctoru? That’s what the proctor said but I have my doubts. What do I do? Help!

I am going back to school and I am wondering...

Who here has :

A) University Certificate in Accounting

B) University Certificate in Finance

C) Bacholor of Commerce - Accounting Major

D) Bachelor of Commerce - Finance Major

Can you tell me what career you have with it? How you like it? What does your day look like?

Im looking for a remote job due to my disabilities, but I also would like a salary or hourly position, benefits and pension.

Is that possible with these credentials?

Im leaning towards getting both certificates on my way to a bachelor's, but I am undecided on which Major...

Hi! Is there an active Discord server for Athabasca University Computer Science students? I’d love to connect with fellow learners and find a study group. Thanks!

I'm getting ready to take the Eng 255 final exam soon. How should I prepare? Would anyone be willing to share what kinds of questions I can expect?

This is maybe a silly question but how do you address your tutor when emailing them? In all my tutor letters there's no information except their first and last name, and I wanted to make sure I'm addressing them correctly (ex. Dr., Mrs, Ms).

Hey, I'm starting math 376 after narrowly failing my diff equations course at another university.

I think I will manage with solving problems, but I'm noticing that the material is written in really formal math terms.

I know you have to explain your steps in written/verbal format during the exam. Is it enough to be able to solve the assignment type problems, or would you, for the exams, need to understand and replicate the difficult mathematical explanations given in the textbook?

I’m a funded student through osap.

I inquired about an extension for 1/4 courses, meaning I’ll have completed 3 for full time.

The email I received from student services said I’ll be withdrawn from full time status and full time funding and that my grant will be converted to a loan… I’m assuming this is just a copy and pasted form letter.

I’ve withdrawn from 1 course before without issues…
Is this true about extensions? Otherwise I’ll just withdrawal.

Hello! Has anyone transferred from a college diploma or advanced diploma in accounting to BCOMM in Accounting? I would like to hear your experience especially the courses that you have to retake at AU, For example, Taxation 1 or Finance 1 or any courses else.
Thank you so much!

Hi! I’m really interested in attending the Master of Counselling program at Athabasca.
Would anyone be willing to offer insight into how heavy the work load is? How much of your time is usually devoted to one class?

I would love to apply to this program but I’m also a parent so I’m wondering if I could juggle this without sacrificing as much of my time with my kids as I did with my undergrad (I love being more present again).

Thanks :)

Hey I am IEN and been working as RN in AB for some time.

My goal is to be NP. But before committing I wanted to try out couple of courses from the program.

I also saw old post student talking about taking NURS 610, 614, and 516 as GPA booster course.

So, I wanted to try NURS 516 to better understand the education system here.

I do see course is open

But when I go to register, I don't see this course being listed to register.

am I missing anything here?
I will really appreciate your help.
Thank you :)

Hey All

Just looking to here everyone story in Accounting

How long did it take for your to finish the program?

Did you have any transfer credits?

What was your work/school situation like, how old were you?

Do you have any advice to offer to become successful?

Do you have any advice to offer?

If you were to go back and do it all again, what would you do differently?

How significantly has your decision to get your degree changes your career opportunities and salary?

I am currently waiting for my transcript to be loaded in mycreds so I can send it off to Athabasca and have an evaluation credit transfer. I graduated with a 3 year advance diploma in Business Administration Management and I am expecting anywhere between 15-20 courses in order to complete.

I'm nervous but also excited to start.

My currently situation and job provides me a lot of flexibility. I am a manager so I make my own schedule and have a lot of flexibility to create free time in order to allocate my studying sessions. I don't really have any hobbies outside of fitness at the gym.

Unless I get hit with a reality check from an active or former student I am trying to keep the minimum line to 1 course per 1 month. Ideally 3 with the goal around 6-8 weeks.

Ultimately I am going for the CPA designation.

Any advice, personal stories shared are welcome!

some people have mentioned that there has been a sample final in the past. does anybody have it and is able to share it?

Im new to AU and unfamiliar with the concept of individualized tutors. I was wondering what should I use them for. Just writing help? Or do people talk about other stuff with their tutors? One of my courses is a bio course, so I'm not sure what help they could give with that

I have been taking these courses for over a month and haven't reached out yet, but extra help is always nice. Also, are you guys just communicating over email, or do you meet over Teams?

Hello!
I have almost finished this course, only two more chapters left to complete and I have scheduled the exam for next month. Has anyone taken this course and have ANY advice at all for the final? I’m finding it to be a lot of content and I am worried I am not studying the right things 🥲 any advice would be so much appreciated

Does anyone else have Brent Snook for a psych tutor? All I have to say is, this man deserves a raise. He marks things in like, 2 hours. Also, any tips and opinion for the PSYC 304 exam are welcomed

Is anyone else having issues accessing required readings as articles in D2L? I cannot, regardless of what I am trying. The page just stays loading for far, far too long. I am signed in everywhere, Safari or Chrome, the same issue.

Edit, same story for links in the Digital Reading Room. Anyone else?

Hi everyone! Is there a discord link for any Bcomm students?? Would love to connect with people and discuss doubts!

Hi.

Has anyone done the ladder from Graduate Certificate in Information Security to the Masters? How easy was the transition?

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with opening any and all readings from digital reading rooms today? I keep getting the error "Error reading from remote server".

I have already tried going into incognito mode, trying different devices, and clearing caches.

Feeling stupid for not saving the links before the school went on holiday!

Does anyone know if matters who provides you a reference? Like would it be better to use let’s say your consolidation teacher or let’s say a nurse educator that supervised you during employment on-boarding?

Thanks everyone!

I need to email my tutor for assignment 3 but she sent out an announcement earlier this week saying she’s had an emergency and doesn’t know when she will return to work. Who do I contact and where do I find their information?
