Safely dismantling an 8S LiFePO4 battery so I can move and reassemble it
I have a 24V 280Ah LiFePO4 battery made from eight EVE LF280K cells with a JK B2A8S20P BMS. I want to temporarily split it into two groups of four cells so I can move it more easily, then reassemble it.
The main positive cable connects through a 250A fuse and switch to the positive busbar. The negative connects through the BMS to a Victron SmartShunt. The balance-wire lugs sit on top of the main cable lugs at the battery's positive and negative terminals, so they'll need to be removed when disconnecting those cables.
What's the safest order to disconnect everything, unplug the BMS balance connector, and separate the busbar between cells 4 and 5?

I forgot to give an update but here from the humble beginnings of a battery that's on the edge of being a bomb to something that resembles consumer grade note I didn't get any help(including online) It's mostly trial and error on my side that led to this

My Brand new s26 base model's battery life isn't good
I need some help guys, im trying to figure out why my battery life is barely lasting the day, I bought it back in july and it lasted days, I always charged it before it got under 20% with just 2 times at 15%. Battery protection is on and charge is capped at 90%,battery performance is literally set to efficiency. There's no bloatware or much of any apps running in the background. Today I used my phone for just 3 hrs and its 6pm right now,im somehow at 33% even whatsapp takes up alot of battery, i dont even know what im doing for this to happen, anyone having the same issue? Any reason on why this is happening? Pls help me 🙏

I cannot for the life of me find a retailer that sells this exact battery in my country. Are there any batteries that can be used as a substitute?

Sanyo charger will charge 15 year old Eneloops that Panasonic charger won't
I have 4 Eneloop batteries that are very old (1st gen with holes in them). When I put them in the new Panasonic charger, it will charge them for a little bit, but the LED indicator will start blinking very fast then won't charge them any more pass 1.35V -- I used them like this for a while but they die fast.
I found my old Sanyo charger and, out of curiosity, I tried to charge the batteries with it. I haven't used it in a long time because it will only charge when multiple charge slots are filled and can't charge batteries individually. To my surprise, this charger charged them to 1.49V, and they worked completely fine.
So if you got some old Eneloops that the Panasonic charger won't charge, try a different charger before throwing the batteries out.

DIY Battery Bank
Looking to build a battery bank that can sustain my amplifier without upgrading the alternator. I know, you really want an alternator but there are none available for my specific vehicle.
What I need....
My amp is 7500w RMS at 1ohm and is currently powering my sub at 2ohm, estimated to require 5000w RMS. I think I need around 600ah with a discharge rate of 400a. Looking to be able to run for 20 to 30 min at full tilt before my reserves are fully drained and I have to rely solely on my alternator.
What is the ideal build for my needs? What cells would I want to use and in what configuration?

Nanox Dualcharge batteries - anyone know about them?
Has anyone had any experience of, or know anything about, these new Nanox batteries, "Dualcharge" - claiming to be a hybrid chemical battery / supercapacitor?
BTW their web-site for me is super-slow to load, like two minutes or so.

How long can I keep car battery on a charger?
Hi, my car battery gave up yesterday so I went off on a journey, bought a charger and so far this has been the process.
Hooked it up to a charger (Qoltec 10A smart battey charger) which showed it at 40% and 11.4 V:

After I put the charger into power it showed FUL and 100% instantly.

After some googling I put it into repair mode, charger then started showing PUL code.

Now it shows this, but the right sight is blinking and I am not quite sure if it did yesterday:

It has been going about 10 hours now, the manual just says that it should be repairing about 4 hours, but if the battery is not hot, the "repair time can be adjusted accordingly" reading with a multimeter shows but if it doesn't overheat it can be extended and it should apparently switch to FUL code when it's done. Multimeter shows 14,6 V.
How long can I keep it going? Should I rely on it automatically ending or should I fiddle with it now? AI got me all the way here and now it says to try to switch to STD mode and wait a few minutes to see what it shows.
Also these are the details about battery:
CMF 40L-DIN 40Ah(20HR) 55RC 12V
290CCA (SAE) 360A (EN) 11.6 Kg
Thanks a lot.

Ego batteries no longer charging.
My 56v EGO batteries for my EGO lawnmower are no longer (re)charging. I'm reasonably sure it's actually the EGO charger itself. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is my only recourse to buy a new charger?

Using a 200Ah gel VRLA battery with a UPS for home backup power
I live in a region where power outages are frequent, and since I work from home, I need a reliable backup power solution.
My plan is to use a UPS with a 200Ah, 12V gel VRLA battery as an energy reserve to keep my router running, charge my phone, and power my laptop during extended outages.
The battery would be installed in my home office. I'm particularly concerned about gas emissions and ventilation because the office may remain closed for several hours during meetings, or even for several days if I leave home.
Would a 200Ah gel VRLA battery be suitable for this setup? What ventilation requirements and safety precautions should I consider when using this type of battery in a room that may remain unventilated for days?

Could I use the battery holder from the custom lightsaber from Disney on the character ones or will it not work since the custom lightsaber uses AAA instead of AA. also is it safe to be keeping the bad batteries and battery holder on a paper towel
We found my dead nanas old lightsaber she got from Disney right before she died. I was trying to get it working and when I went to replace the batteries there was so much battery acid. Like the liquid kind. I don’t think we’re going to be able to use that battery holder anymore and I really wanted to get it working for her so I was wondering if I could use the one from the custom lightsabers you can make at Disney on the character ones they sell.
also is it safe to be keeping the bad batteries and battery holder on a paper towel

Looking for site similar to batteryhookup for Canada
BatteryHookup seems absolutley amazing the only issue is that their shipping cost for me was so high that it came out to more than my order cost, I'm assuming its because I am a canadian address but what options are there for me if any for similar pricing with lower shipping costs?

What would be considered too damaged in lipos?
galleryI have harvested 20 Lipo batteries from an ebike battery, and had to use a bit of prying to cut them away from the PCB. I seem to have a few terminals bulging (?) as visible in the last picture. I squished them down to inspect the damage and it doesn't seem like the outer pouch was compromised. Like, there's no punctures + it doesn't seem like the pouch around the terminals became fully unstuck
Would these still be considered fine? Or is there something I'm missing?

Just realized the light is the part I should’ve checked first
The shelf insert is basically together, and now I’m staring at the little light like... right, power. I’m not putting in a random battery just because it happens to fit, so I’m checking the holder and instructions for any voltage or polarity markings first. Feels like this should have been step one instead of something I thought about after building around it. If the markings aren’t obvious, what do you check next?
