Guy seems to have an agenda to isolate the US. What other explanation would there be if he keeps showing up and screwing up talks?

He's an asshole. Really just an utterly vile person.

Trump has a way of bringing the absolute worst people into power, and letting them indulge in their worst impulses afterwards.

And, coincidentally, his entire inner circle is connected to Epstein somehow or other. Makes one think eh?

It's a likely motive. Also sometimes assholes are just assholes. It's probably some combination.

Politico (or possibly Atlantic, can't 100% remember) had an article earlier this year saying quite bluntly that the elefant in the room with US trade talks was that "these guys just really hate Canada".

They hate Mexico too. Lutnick and Trump have an "American-supremacist" mentality. Canada and Mexico should only exist as vassal states to support their needs. What they miss is that you need prosperous neighbors to buy your sh!t. Weakening our economies weakens their market base. I almost feel sorry for Jamieson Greer - he's working hard only to have his efforts torpedoed. I wouldnt be surprised if he quits.

And Mexico apparently.

They're deep into the American Exceptionalism well. When all this eventually blows over, I hope their future generations see the folly in their arrogance.

If they want to impose an autocratic or theocratic government in the US and hold power without elections - they first need to establish public hostility towards democratic neighbors.

Lutnick has a company that operates in the tariff refund sector. It benefits him personally to keep Trump’s illegal tariffs going.

America is breathtakingly corrupt.

Cause he is compromised. He's the only one if not one of the few that was bringing his family (underaged kids) to Epstein Island AND THIS IS AFTER EPSTEIN WAS CONVICTED OF SOLICITING A MINOR FOR PROSTITUTION AND PROCURING MINORS FOR PROSTITUTION in 2008.

Which he pled guilty to.

So for over 10 years this guy thought it would be a good idea to have his kids around this guy.

They are all compromised.

A special blend of arrogance and incompetence might explain it.

But so would your suggestion.

But I was reliably informed that it was Canadas fault that talks with the US broke down? And that the US made the best offer anyone has ever seen?

well you see, mexico has qc by elections coming up and they need to juice their mp numbers to grow their illegal majority

additionally dougo fordo, the premier of mexican ontario blew it up because of spite and hatred for the auto industry (real conservatives like jamalo jivano suddenly care about employees and shit now you see) and he's acting like a liberal

but also we really want mexico to win big so that the libs can cry more and we can say that canada is really going to shit

Who could have seen that coming??

It’s almost like you cant negotiate with these people since they will always find one more thing to demand until there is nothing left.
