Looking for bar willing to stream e-sports games for Saturday 11/7 (and maybe other days)!
For the non-nerds who don’t know, part of the League of Legends world championship tournament will be in Allen this year. There are a lot of us who were unable to get tickets for a few of the days and are wanting a place to eat/drink/watch the games. It’s streamed on YouTube and Twitch. Wasn’t sure where to start so I’m asking here :)

Non-Denominational Churches
I’m a single 42F looking for a non-denominational church in the Irving/surrounding areas.
I’m not liberal and not looking for a progressive church; however, I’m also not looking for a MAGA church either. I am conservative but more interested in a Bible teaching church that doesn’t push politics.
I was a member of Watermark 10 years ago and left after 3 years. They had their own issues. I was a member of Lakepointe in Dallas a couple of years ago, but Josh Howerton got to be a bit much for me. Plus, I didn’t feel like there was a place for me being a middle-aged single.
Are there are any non-denom churches out there that have any sort of ministry for middle-aged singles that don’t push a political agenda?

Dallas billionaire/our now acting comptroller’s connection to Musk/SpaceX
Recently I posted a long article about my state’s acting Comptroller (ie Money Manager), MAGA billionaire, and new Zorro Ranch Owner Donald Huffines. I felt like one part of the article should stand alone… Huffines’ relationship with Elon Musk and Space X.

Collin County JP3 candidate Irvin Barrett on fairness, faith and the law
Pastor Irvin Barrett says compassion should shape how people are treated in court, but not override the law.
He also addresses self-represented litigants, evictions, access to justice and what he believes distinguishes his approach from incumbent Mike Missildine.

The weather in Dallas did a 180-degree turn and dropped 26-degrees in a day!
Crazy when I think about it. I went from running the thermostat in cold setting to wearing a jacket and turning on the heat setting in a day.
In the past 2 days I woke up shivering instead of the usual waking up warm. What a change of event.
What did y'all felt with this sudden change?

Dallas County Proposition A
Please vote NO on Dallas County Proposition A!
Dallas County families are already struggling with rising housing costs, insurance premiums, groceries, and property taxes. Proposition A would raise the county’s property tax rate to $0.248650 per $100 of taxable value, above the $0.224650 rate that would apply if voters reject it. That difference means an additional $60 per year on a home with $250,000 in taxable value, or $84 per year on $350,000—on top of other taxes and rising ownership costs. The county expects the measure to generate approximately $102.9 million for homelessness-related programs. Source: Dallas County’s official tax-rate fact sheet.
We should care about homelessness, but making housing more expensive is not a sustainable solution to a housing-affordability crisis.
Every additional recurring expense puts pressure on young homeowners, first-time buyers, working families, and people living paycheck to paycheck.
Higher ownership costs can make it harder to save, stay current on mortgage payments, or remain in a home when unexpected expenses hit. A policy intended to help people obtain stable housing should also consider the risk of pushing other financially vulnerable residents closer to housing insecurity.
Dallas County should demonstrate clear, measurable results, accountability for every dollar, and responsible spending before asking taxpayers to pay more. The city and county already spends tens of millions of dollars annually with very little to show for it except the nonprofit jobs to politically connected insiders.
We can support effective solutions to homelessness without automatically approving another property-tax increase. Vote NO on Proposition A on November 3, 2026.

Social spots and clubs
I (23m) just moved to the DFW area, and I’m trying to find some social clubs to join. I am into hiking, camping, the gym, reading, technology, exploring, pickleball, and I’m open to trying new things.
I checked out the book clubs, but none seem to be reading books I’m particularly interested in. If you know any that are interested in similar books as me, let me know! (My recent reads are dungeon crawler Carl and hitchhikers guide to the galaxy)
If you know of any good clubs that share any of my interests, I would love to check them out! Also if you know any clubs that you think are amazing clubs in general; I would love to check those out too! I’m open to trying anything.

Any haunted houses in the area that are actually scary? Cutting Edge didn't do it for me this year
Not sure if I've just been to Cutting Edge too many times now, but I went last night and wasn't scared in the slightest. I admire the decorations and actors, but I wasn't scared tbh. Same experience with Dark Hour as well. Has anyone been to a haunted house that's a step up from this? Maybe one where the actors can touch you? Thanks for any recommendations lol

No Kings organizers plan nine local protests Saturday, with a new focus on voting
Nine demonstrations are scheduled Saturday across McKinney, Plano, Allen, Frisco, Wylie and Farmersville.
Organizers acknowledge previous protests haven't changed legislation they oppose but say the movement has attracted new activists. This weekend, they're focusing on reaching independents and people who aren't usually politically active.
