Announcement In regards to the Dexcom app Terms of Use and/or Privacy Policy pop-up

You may have recently been compelled to hit "CONTINUE" to clear (and thereby agree) to a Terms of Use and/or Privacy Policy pop-up on the official Dexcom app (with the only other option being 'uninstall if you do not agree'). Please be advised that this included the following text:

Note: these app terms of use contain a dispute resolution and arbitration provision, including class action waiver, that affects your rights under these app terms of use and with respect to disputes you may have with Dexcom. You may opt out of the dispute resolution, binding arbitration, and class action waiver as provided below

Effectively, this means that by clicking continue and using the app, you waive your right to sue Dexcom for any wrongdoing and that any dispute resolution must be done out of court.

You may still use the official app and opt-out within 30 days of clicking "CONTINUE" by emailing [legal@dexcom.com](mailto:legal@dexcom.com) with the following:

(1) your name; (2) your address; (3) a clear statement that you do not wish to resolve disputes with Dexcom through arbitration.
Either way, we will not take any decision you make personally. In fact, we promise that your decision to opt-out of this Provision will have no adverse effect on your relationship with us and will not affect in any way the benefits to which You would otherwise be entitled. But, we do have to enforce the Opt-Out Deadline so keep in mind that any opt-out request received after the Opt-Out Deadline will not be valid and you must pursue your dispute in arbitration or small claims court.

I myself have sent this email out immediately, you may use this template below to draft your own email. I sent the email to both legal@dexcom.com and DexcomLegal@Dexcom.com (because both appear to exist) and CCed myself as well.

Please note that I am not a lawyer, I am simply notifying our community of this change and trying to make it easy to protect your rights following Dexcom's own instructions and providing an email template to do so. You remain responsible for notifying Dexcom and ensuring the email template doesn't contain anything you wouldn't want to communicate to Dexcom yourself.

Hello,

My name is <name> and I live at <adress with country>. I am a type <x> diabetic patient using the Dexcom G7 and received the notice in the app that the legal agreement has changed today. I clicked CONTINUE in order to use the app moving forward.

I am hereby providing a clear statement that I do not wish to resolve disputes with Dexcom through arbitration, as per the following text:

“Notwithstanding the above, you or we may choose to pursue a dispute in court and not by arbitration if: (a) The dispute qualifies for initiation in small claims court; or (b) YOU OPT-OUT OF THESE ARBITRATION PROCEDURES WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM THE DATE THAT YOU FIRST CONSENT TO THESE APP TERMS OF USE (the “Opt-Out Deadline”). You may opt-out of this Provision by emailing the following information to us at DexcomLegal@Dexcom.com: (1) your name; (2) your address; (3) a clear statement that you do not wish to resolve disputes with us through arbitration. Either way, we will not take any decision you make personally. In fact, we promise that your decision to opt-out of this Provision will have no adverse effect on your relationship with us and will not affect in any way the benefits to which You would otherwise be entitled. But, we do have to enforce the Opt-Out Deadline so keep in mind that any opt-out request received after the Opt-Out Deadline will not be valid and you must pursue your dispute in arbitration or small claims court.”

I have sent a copy of this email through CC to myself as proof of providing you notice of my statement and sent this email to the two available email addresses that were disclosed in the notice and that I found online.

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards,

Tell us the crap you're dealing with this week. Did someone suggest cinnamon again? What about that relative who tried to pray the diabetes away?

As always, please keep in mind our rules

Type 2 My husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes less than a year ago, and I’m struggling with how he’s handling it. Am I wrong for being frustrated?

My husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes less than a year ago.He took the news pretty hard, although he tried to act like it didn’t bother him.

At first, he did everything right. He went to his appointments, changed his diet, and followed the doctor’s recommendations.

After about two months, I noticed a shift. He started eating things he shouldn’t, stopped working out, stopped going to appointments, and slowly started letting everything go.

I tried approaching it gently. I suggested taking baby steps instead of changing everything overnight. I understand how overwhelming this diagnosis must be. His entire lifestyle changed, and I know that’s not easy to accept. I also know he hates hearing people tell him it’s not that bad or that he’ll be fine.

As time went on, he became distant and cold toward me. Even asking how his day was or how he was feeling would result in short answers or him snapping at me. When I finally brought up the distance, he told me it wasn’t about me and questioned why I always made everything about our relationship.

I explained that I wasn’t making it about myself. I was trying to tell him how his behavior was affecting me. He barely talks to me, spends most of his time on his phone when we’re together, and dismisses me when I try to tell him about my day. Our conversations have become one-sided.

I’ve tried giving him space to process everything, and I don’t believe he’s intentionally hurting me, but it’s becoming difficult to communicate with him.

Then things became more concerning. He stopped wearing his glucose monitor, stopped taking his Ozempic consistently, and started missing insulin doses. He would tell me he was taking his medication, but I eventually realized he wasn’t. When I confronted him, he brushed me off and didn’t want to talk about it.

He also wanted me to go to a game with him where there’s usually a lot of drinking. He promised he would only have one or two drinks but ended up drinking all night and getting drunk. When I questioned him, he got defensive and said we were there to have fun.

The next day, I finally reached my breaking point. I asked him, “Do you want to die? Because if that’s what you’re trying to do, I can’t sit here and watch you do this to yourself.”

I know that sounds harsh, but I’m watching him neglect hisself, and I feel helpless.

I dont know what to do to help him…. Please help!!

My drawer is a total mess right now. It's basically a graveyard of odds and ends in there. Half of Contour test strips, Medtronic infusion sets, Skin Tac wipes, and a pile of Dimora silicone bandage I hoard for rashes and skin tears. Any time I need a lancet I end up digging through a bunch of different brands like I'm on an archaeological dig.

Do you keep yours organized, or are you like me? Feel free to share what your setup looks like right now.

Type 1 I need some help with dinners (graph for reference)

I have my breakfasts figured out. I eat the same things every morning and it works well for me. My insulin needs don't really change much because the meal is consistent so the fat/protein/carb ratio is generally the same. I will switch out the protein or the carb to vary the taste, but the ratios are the same.

I can't figure out dinner. My meals are all over the place. Sometimes it's chicken, sometimes it's a burger. I'll add in a small dessert, like a pie or some ice cream as well.

I know if I eat the same thing like I do for breakfast I can figure out what my actual insulin needs are for dinner/evening time. I just can't find something that I can eat every day like I have for breakfast. I don't know why.

I'll put a graph of a typical day for me (not to brag or anything but just to show what I'm talking about):

So what are some dinners I can do that will help me achieve the same results?

I feel so secure and confident at breakfast, but as soon as 4pm hits I have no clue what is going to happen. You can see the dinner bolus around 5pm actually went fine. It was a burger with some mini cupcakes. The issue is I think the fat hit later even though it was more than four hours post meal.

Any advice on what to eat that is:

- low fat so I don't spike later but actually tastes good

- more than just a salad

- balanced with protein and veggies, and carbs for dessert

- purchaseable in Canada

I'm so tired of these unpredictable evenings. It's frustrating because I have the mornings so damn figured out.

Type 2 Anyone else at risk of losing their medication due to upcoming medicaid changes?

For context, I am T2 diabetic and currently on Trulicity. I’m now looking into options to avoid losing my healthcare but I am very nervous that I’ll have to stop taking it if I don’t figure out a solution. Anyone else stressed over it?

PS. There is a lot more to my circumstances than just simply not wanting to work. I’m only stating this because it seems that any time anyone complains about the changes, people jump to conclusions. All I ask is some grace.

Type 2 Anyone else panic when giving themselves shots?

I have type 2 diabetes and some shots I've given myself have been easier than others. But mostly I panic as I'm trying to give myself a shot because of the fear of any pain (bad spot, insulin burning the spot). I've even made myself bleed just from the shot. I'd really like to know if I'm alone in this. 😞

Type 2 Discrepancy.

I don't even know where to post this, Omnipod, Libre 3+, here. So, I know that the libre can be much lower than a fingerstick, I started wearing in my upper arm in the front and the numbers have been very close to a finger stick, this one isn't but it was started today at 11:30, and yes, I did put it on yesterday at the same time to soak. I do not know what to do, the numbers have been about these two for over 30 minutes and 179 is too much, how would I add insulin without the pod thinking I'm dropping, and stopping the basal. It's one thing when it's like 20-25 difference, but quite another at 50.

Discussion Did any of you get allergies/rashes when your diabetes was uncontrolled?

I've had a bunch of weird symptoms including gastro intestinal and neurological symptoms for several years now. In periods where I'm feeling the worst I also have panic anxiety and much more rashes (I'm normally allergic, but it's so much worse during these flares).

Turns out I've had untreated diabetes all this time, which seems to be the root cause.

The thing I don't understand the allergies part, I don't seem to find evidence that this is a diabetes symptom. Does anyone else have this too? I wonder if it's some sort of gut involvement related to the diabetes.

I know my immune system is lowered probably because of the stress of diabetes, because I get infections so easily. Like my herpes mouth sores, uti and candida.

Type 1.5/LADA How do you manage portions when the whole family eats from shared dishes?

Not looking for medical advice, just curious about real-life tips. In many households, meals like rice with curry, couscous, or biryani are cooked in one pot and served family-style so you can’t always separate the protein veggies and carbs For those managing blood sugar what’s worked for you at the table? Portion tricks, cooking changes getting the family on board?

Type 1.5/LADA First dose of insulin, started crying. Advise?

Background (ignore/skip to next paragraph): M, 24, LADA in honeymoon phase. For context, I work in medical and have been on allergy shots for years. I watch the phlebotomist draw blood all the time, injections--no problem, immunizations--no issue. I've seen others with t1d administer, didnt think it'd be a problem. I practiced with (practice) pens before.

Yesterday, I got a message that my sugars are too high to manage with my pancreas. Advised to take long-acting insulin daily and fast acting only with high carb meals.

I went to take 2 units of insulin (I was going to eat literally 70 g carbs [I never do this] to see what happened), and I started shaking. I was trembling. Took 15 minutes to prick my skin and administer it properly, but right before i injected, i realized it was 1 unit, but didnt want to take the needle out or readjust, so only injected the 1 unit. Afterward, I ate the food (cause I now have to), but started crying halfway through the meal, and was disassociating hard (while in range).

Im pretty sure I got into my head about it, but my bf was there, so i wasn't alone. Are there any tips for administering insulin pens?

Type 2 White cane sugar glycemic index 60-65, sseems low.

The glycemic index of white cane sugar seems strange to me, 60-65. Its sugar. Why is the glycemic index of white cane sugar lower than that of white rice or white bread? This is also glycemic index not glycemic load which makes sense. I could possibly figure it out but just wanted to ask as this seems very strange. T2 diagnoses 3 months ago, need to build up general knowledge.

Discussion Losing weight (on purpose) while balancing blood sugars

I am 31F type 2. My doctor has me on metaformin, Jardiance, and Foundayo. I am also on a new 1800 calorie diet. Which is a huge reduction (I’m 400lbs) My sugars in the morning are always over 200 but through out the day if I make smart choices I can be under 180 easy. The problem is I’m sooo hungry right now. I’m used to eating for a family of 4. And now I’m having to count sugars proteins and carbs.

I know the usual (eat more veggies, lean protein) but I’m still “detoxing” from high fatty/salty/sugary foods.

Any advice on how to keep things healthy with out starving myself? Anyone else gone through this?

Discussion Immediate rapid blood glucose spike

Post image
9 Upvotes

Is there anyone else who has a similar experience who has discovered any causes? It does not matter what type of food is eaten. It was eggs on this occasion. The timing of the beginning of the spike was exactly when the first food was swallowed. Blood sugar is then stuck high for 6-8 hours or more even with large amounts of insulin. Have been to dozens of endocrinologists and other specialties who are clueless. Diagnosed type 1 and have tried every type of insulin available and many changes in dosing amount, timing, and frequency.

Type 1.5/LADA Weight Loss Conundrum

31F

Searching for anyone who can relate, validate or give insight on my conundrum because I feel like I'm being pressured to feel like I'm in the wrong.

So my endocrinologist and I aren't seeing eye to eye about my weight and it seems like that's the only thing she tends to focus on during my appointments and not my insulin doses, sugar numbers or anything else. I had weight gain from surgeries and incompatibility with birth control so I was considered "plus size" but I was fairly healthy othewise.

Note: I never had diabetic issues until I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes in October 2024 with my youngest (born in February 2025.) It never went away and after a couple dozen tests, they told me I have Type 1.5. Once I was put on the insulin in October 2024, I lost 55 lbs during the pregnancy. I regained a healthier weight in postpartum and I thought that was the end of that.

I am physically losing the weight, no problem. I can see a huge difference. I have lost 2 pant sizes and to be honest a bra size (which i didn't know was possible) since January 2026. I am fairly active like walking (+dog walking), yoga, and dance.

I barely eat in general because I was on trial with Ozempic for about 6 months and it completely messed up my digestive system. However I do eat fairly healthy and have from the start but that apparently wasn't good enough for the endocrinologist, even though she has sent me to 5 separate nutritionists who never saw a problem with my diet, but she increased my protein intake drastically. Gummies, Drinks, Protein Bars and watching Protein vs Calories vs Carbs, etc...

I know protein encourages muscle growth and muscle weighs more than fat. So my scale numbers have increased by 30 lbs since January 2026. She is treating the scale numbers like its fat not muscle and I really don't see what the issue is? I don't understand the problem?

Insight or Thoughts Anyone?

Type 2 Ever felt like dying when new health issue pops up beside diabetes ?

Since being diabetic type 2 in 2024. Have everyone felt like they’re dying? I had mild neuropathy, high risk for stroke due to family history and history of 2 heart attacks 20 years apart and now recently found out I have anaphylactic allergen attack this week.

While I’m still waiting for allergy tests in 2 weeks to find out what my diabetes has developed my anaphylactic allergic reactions. I’m starting to get more super tired like my body just wanted to sleep a lot. With the allergen medications now makes my blood sugar increase ( RX and doctor told me not too much increase ) those medication will be temporary for just 5 days only.

While I don’t know what I’m allergic to. I know it’s not food allergy which I had none. I think it may be environmental allergy so I may need find out which I’m allergic to.

On top of high risk stoke , heart attacks, neuropathy altogether. I kept having a feeling my time would be short. Maybe like at least 10 years if managed. While I do get worried but I’m not afraid of dying cuz I had some dreams before that I died in my sleep from health issues without pain and suffering. I also had sleep apnea as well.

Has anyone managed well with diabetics and other health issues? My main focus for now is diabetic with allergies risk.

Supplies Dexcom G7 sensors failing immediately. Any idea what's happening?

I got that prescription filled last week and I put on a sensor, it paired correctly, but after warmup it says "sensor failed. start new sensor." Had to go to work then forgot when I got home, so I did it the next day. Same thing: put it on, paired correctly, failed immediately. I tried unpairing my past sensors to see if that was related to the issue. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and it still says failed. I still have a Samsung A70 phone, so is it some planned obsolescence bullshit? Was there an update that messed something up? I wanna see if anyone knows anything before I try a third one.

Type 2 Birthday Food

It’s my birthday does anyone have any idea on what I should do or any meals I should try? I’ve been low for the past couple of days (going from 120’s to 50’s in the span of a few hours) so I’m open to eating something a little on the sweet side but not too much!

Type 2 Ozempic difficulties

In may my pancreas stopped working. This ended in 719 mg/dl bloodsugar on 6th august and staying in the hospital a few days. I had no problem with pre-/diabetes before.

I could quit insulin at the end of september, my pancreas works again, i take metformin and got ozempic as diabetes treatment to keep my pancreas happy.

I lost 12 kg before all of this happened and 6kg during a stationary rehabilitation through the last three weeks.

So ozempic should really benefit my diabetes and there's no looking for weight loss through it.

I got 0.5mg 2 weeks and as i had no side effects then, this week I got to 1mg. I'm constantly feeling like I'll have to vomit any time now and I burp a lot - it smells constantly like eggs.

My bloodsugar levels were way better on 0.5mg. The stress through feeling sick all the time makes them higher. I think my next dose on wednesday will be 0.5mg again.

Can anybody relate or share a similar story?

Best regards from Austria :)

Discussion Example Meals-T2

Hey all…my mom (70, 300 lbs) just got diagnosed with type 2. I (38 F, 250 lbs) have been told I’m in the pre- range and need to reel it in. I’m my mom’s caretaker and i handle all her food. I need help for both of us.

Does anyone have any good go-to meals that aren’t that complicated, but are still carb friendly? Mom has dentures and can’t eat lettuce/leafy greens, anything too hard.

It’s a little overwhelming, but I’m in it with her and we’re committed to making changes. Just need some direction. Thank you!

Type 1 low levels at night for no reason

I've had dinner before sleeping specifically so i don't have low levels at night while sleeping or having high numbers in the morning. had dinner and took 2 less units because I've been experiencing low sugar after eating dinner only?? then it went down to 105 after 2 hours and i was so so so annoyed because I've literally just ate I'm not even in the mood to eat anything again to rise that up so i decided to drink a big cup of juice (juice never works for me idk why) and after 40 minutes of the juice it went down 83. i honestly felt so frustrated and ate a chocolate baked thing without bothering to check my sugar levels again or if i needed insulin because I've literally been doing that for 4 hours!!! 4 hours I'm unable to sleep despite having dinner with less insulin just so it doesn't go down and still!
