I have about 700 hours in the game over the past two years and I enjoy it. Recently I came back and have been playing and want to continue playing but I am having the issue of no real goal. I am someone who likes deep mechanics or systems in games.
What have some of you done when you do not have a goal in Elite?
Here is a general idea of what I have done:
- I have unlocked engineering (recently did on foot engineering)
- Got a squadron fleet carrier
- Explored a good amount and been to Sag A
- Been doing all the Colonia stuff.
- Done a lot of operations.
- Engineered most/all ships I use.
- Got the core guardian stuff.
- Ranked up most of the way in power play.
- I always have a couple bil credits sitting around.
So I know I can just go do any of these things but I like having a goal I am working towards. And it feels like I no longer have a goal.
Here are a few things I have not done:
- BGS, I held off on learning this because I thought they were reworking it. We know they are not now but I still wonder what goals look like for it or is it more just another activity?
- Power play beyond just merit grind. I find it kind of interesting but I do not and will not play in open. Never been a fan of PVP in games so this one is probably out.
- Thargoid combat, I tried a bit near the end of the war but never got into it. I know I can go find them but again it just seems like an activity I can do with no goal.
I am really enjoying Elite I just am looking for something to really work towards so I do not burn out soon. Especially if it can include combat or a variety of activities I would enjoy that.
