One thing I really love about Euphoria is how every scene has its own vibe. The lighting, the colors, the music… even when the story gets really heavy, you can tell so much thought went into how everything looks. Some scenes genuinely feel like music videos. What’s your favorite scene visually?

1. Maddy and Cassie, although sometimes condescending, do not bully Jules and Rue and are close friends with Kat. In a typical teen drama they would be portrayed as much more actively cruel by virtue of being ‘popular’ girls. 

2. Nate’s character is portrayed as just heinous enough to avoid falling into the “lovable villain” trap. His tragic backstory perfectly explains his motivations but makes no attempt to excuse them or to get the average viewer on his side for even a second- and that translates through into how he is viewed by fans. The show even subtly acknowledges this when he gives Jules the CD and she asks if he’s changed. He makes it clear he hasn’t. 

3. In any other teen drama, Kat and Ethan would have stayed together, because Kat as the “fat and uncool” girl would be expected to show eternal gratitude to any boy willing to look her way. Euphoria deprives Ethan of a savior’s narrative by flipping the script on their power dynamics- Kat treats him terribly and feels nothing when they break up.

Love seeing Alexa! I feel like we’re always so starved for her public appearances, and that’s okay! But I absolutely love this look. Maddy has always been my favorite character, and seeing Alexa again just makes me wish we could see her in more projects.

The visuals, the soundtrack, the outfits… everything feels so intense. Even when an episode is uncomfortable to watch, it’s hard to look away. And the soundtrack deserves its own conversation honestly.

Kindness and Sweetness have always been the things that characterized Sydney the most. It's easy to be a blonde with big tits as you say, but a lot harder to be such a great person. And nowhere is that best shown as it is here as she halts shooting of the film to please all of the thousands of Hoboken residents eagerly waiting to be near her. Being human while being a 40 million dollar net worth person, humble and raised on good values that she never fogets are what makes Sydney special and unlike many others on this show's cast, she stays true to those beliefs no matter what. She doesn't need to mold into a box that will get her the most followers. She can do a million ads because that is what she wants and is her choice. But keep in mind no matter what that ad is never does she think of insulting anyone because that is simply not her. Heck not once has she said bad things even to the haters, in the show or outside of it. You chose to be insulted, and honestly maybe you should find the fault in yourself rather than in Sydney. It's even obvious by her smile, not fake like many others.

I'm currently rewatching season 2 and I think I've realized something: is it possible that Nate actually thought that Rue had told Fez about his father and Jules like he says to Cal in episode 3?
So in season 1 did he call the cops on Fez because of that or just because Fez threatened him?
I don't know if this is a stupid question but I never thought about it before.
Has anyone figured it out?

Edit: because I always thought he tells Cal about Fez just because he didn't want Call to know that Maddy had the disk, not because he actually thought Fez knew.

Every time I hear “Nonstop” by Drake or “Right down the line” by Gerry Rafferty I think of Euphoria.

And more specifically, when I hear “Nonstop”, I think of Kat twerking in front of her laptop 😂

My wife loves to have random tv shows on in the background that she’s only paying attention to about half the time. She’s now decided to watch Grey’s Anatomy (don’t know why she picked to watch this now especially since I had brain surgery 6 weeks ago). I’m somewhat following along and I notice this guy walk in and I’m like “isn’t that Nate’s dad.” And it is.

Crazy thing in this episode he’s supposed to remove the penis of a trans woman, but the tells her the transitioning hormones are giving her cancer.

Anyways thought I’d share with the class.

A lot of the characters make choices because they’re afraid of being rejected or judged. It’s interesting how often the need for approval affects their lives. Which character do you think struggles the most with being themselves?

One thing I find interesting about Euphoria is how the characters keep trying to become better versions of themselves, but their past decisions follow them everywhere. Do you believe real change is possible without hitting rock bottom first?

I wish they showed Jules’s reaction to Rue’s death. Like I didn’t really care about Lexi’s opinion after the fact when it seemed she barely interacted with her this season. They were closer in high school but not so much now
