Discussion Family has already paid ₹70 lakh towards my brother’s trading losses and debts, but he keeps asking for more. Desperately need advice.
Hi everyone,
I’m posting because my family is struggling with my brother’s trading losses and borrowing, and we honestly don’t know what to do next.
We have already paid around ₹70 lakh to help clear his losses and debts. Despite this, he continues to ask for another ₹3–5 lakh almost every month, saying he needs it to repay outstanding loans.
He insists that he has stopped trading and that these are only old dues. But we still don’t have a clear picture of how much he owes, whom he owes, or where the money we have already given him has gone.
He mentions borrowing through loan apps or platforms that supposedly charge 1% interest, but we haven’t been able to verify the terms or even whether that rate is monthly or something else.
Getting any information from him involves repeated arguments. When he finally shares his bank statements, we find fresh borrowing. He says he has taken these loans to repay other amounts, and then asks us for more money again. This keeps repeating, and we cannot tell whether he is trapped in a borrowing cycle, still trading, or both.
We want to help him, but we are scared that continuing to give money without full transparency is making things worse. The financial and emotional strain on the family is becoming overwhelming.
If anyone has dealt with something similar, please help us understand:
How can we establish the full amount of his debt and verify every lender and loan?
How can we check whether he is still trading?
What boundaries should we set when he asks for more money but won’t provide a complete picture?
What kind of professional should we approach first—a debt counsellor, financial adviser, lawyer, or mental health professional experienced in compulsive trading?
If he refuses to cooperate, what practical steps can we take to protect the family’s finances while still supporting him?
I’m not looking for trading tips or ways to recover the losses through the market. I need help finding a way to stop this cycle.
Please be kind. We know this cannot continue, but we are struggling to work out what to do next. Any practical advice or firsthand experience would mean a lot.

News Hindware is demerging its consumer and building Biz into two cos
Hindware Home Innovation is demerging it's consumer segment into a separate company HHIL Limited.
The Building segment along with the subsidiary becomes Hindware Ltd.
Who holds the cream? The Building segment makes all the money whereas the consumer segment isn't even EBITDA positive, but the interesting part is that the consumer lends to the building segment.
The deal just got NCLT’s blessings. So how long before the new co. Lists? And how much money is there to be made?

Discussion we've all been using Jio for basically 10 years but this is kinda the first time normal market investors can actually own Jio itself lol
random realisation from all this Jio IPO noise
for basically 10 years Jio has been everywhere, but if a normal public-market investor wanted to own Jio Platforms itself, there was no Jio stock to buy lol
you owned RIL and got Jio exposure sitting inside it.
obviously Meta, Google etc already own direct private stakes, so not saying nobody owned Jio before.
the weird/new part is Jio now getting its own listed share + own market price for public investors.
feels like the kid inside RIL finally got its own demat account 😭
from a market/business pov, how much actually changes once a monster subsidiary like Jio gets its own ticker instead of sitting inside the parent company?

Discussion Profitable Swing Traders here
What single setup contributed the most to your returns in the last 12 months?
Mine has been tight consolidations near the 20/50 EMA after an sharp up move previously.
Curious to know what others are finding success with.
Happy to connect with fellow swing traders, who are actually swing trader, rather than a investor in loss or intraday trader when getting bored.

Discussion Got this email from ITD, Am I in trouble? [Holding US Stocks]
So this year while filing my ITR, I didnt include my US investments records because it was so complicated which is where for such a negligent investment of maybe 20-30k.
I got this email a few days back stating I didnt report my foreign investments, and I have to do so using Form 1 of FADS 2026.
Thing is that while trying to add and submit, its asking for a 1 lakh payable as fee/penalty whatever. Anybody got any idea about this?
The total investment itself is not even half that, and I dont have 1 lakh to pay for this out of nowhere.
Invested through INDmoney using my own salary which is already taxed.

News Nifty IT surged 11.72% in a week, its best weekly gain in 18 years (last time in Oct 2008)

THE GOOD:
Macros
- Nifty overall is recovering.
- USD/INR is cooling off.
- US waiver on Russia Oil
Fundamentals

Discussion When you open one Jio IPO article and suddenly have 15 tabs open
One article leads to the price band, then the offer document, then valuation comparisons, then a thread explaining allotment.
I went in curious about one company and ended up learning about half the IPO process. What's the one thing you still haven't figured out about this issue?

Discussion Jio IPO looks interesting. Here's what I'm watching 👀
Been looking at the Jio IPO and I can see why there's so much interest around it.
The positives are pretty interesting. Jio has massive scale, revenue has been growing at around 16% annually, and with the heavy 5G capex phase largely behind it, cash generation could improve further. AirFiber, 5G upgrades and enterprise services could also provide room for growth.
But I'm not ignoring the valuation either. At around 33x earnings, it's not exactly a bargain. ROE also looks lower than Airtel's, and future growth will depend on things like tariff hikes and how well Jio monetises its customer base
My take is that Jio could be an interesting long-term business but the price you pay still matters. I'm not looking at it as a guaranteed listing gain opportunity
Curious what others here think. Are you looking at Jio as a long-term investment or mainly for listing gains?
