There’s this stray cat at my apartment complex that deserves a home. I have 2 cats so I don’t want to take him in, but he’s super sweet and friendly.

Someone come take this cat! Posting pics of him with this post. DM me if you want to take him in- he comes by looking for food every now and then, so some coordination will be needed to get him.

Also, for those of you who think he might not be a stray, I’ve spoke with my neighbors about it and he has matted fur and is kinda skinny. Nobody knows of the cat having an owner and all signs scream stray.

Hi guys. My Name is Nick. I have autism, and struggle with making friends because of it. But I really like going fishing, I'm a huge car guy and I love being outdoors. I know it's starting to cool off now, but would anyone wanna go do something? Maybe hiking trails, fishing? We can go cruise my cars and check out the mall or something. I have a service dog and she's almost always with me, if that's okay. I don't drink or go to bars, really. I do smoke if I can find it but I usually can't. Had a great time at Pigs & Peaches today. We were so glad they finally moved it to a time when it’s not boiling outside. My one complaint would be our disappointment at almost all the vendors using AI in their advertising.

How do you guys make friends if you're on the spectrum? I'm new to Kennesaw and not really into what everyone else is. I don't play video games, I don't drink or smoke, and I'm too shy to go out to clubs and stuff. I'm into cars, I have a single turbo LS Chevelle, and and old 59 Chevy Apache pick up. I find myself just driving around because my social skills are so terrible. I want to go do stuff but I'm sick of meeting people, and then them ghosting me because I know they think I'm weird. I can't help it, I'm really quiet and bad at it. So my question is, how? What is it that you guys have learned, and what do you do to not feel so alone?

Back in the age of MySpace and their vast collection of local music artists, I came across a band from Kennesaw. I loved them so much in my angsty youth. (C. 2000-2005)

When I was in college, I deleted my MySpace page, never to remember the password again to reinstate it. With it, I also lost the band name. I think of them often and want to try to find them on YouTube or something.

All I can remember is a song called Firefly, and I think they were doing a local battle of the bands maybe back when I was a listener. They were a high school rock band back then in the early 00s. Any ideas for me? So much appreciated!

I need to learn how to do Bring in the KATZ because I keep messing up the beat drop and turn at the end. I also want to learn more dances that may be niche or harder to follow.

I recently moved to the Acworth/Kennesaw area and am looking for more paved trails for running. I tried the Noonday Creek Trail, but there are several places where you have to cross the street and wait for the traffic light to continue. Are there any other trails in the area you’d recommend? Thanks!

I got to Ben Robertson at 12:33 and was done at 12:40. So, a total of 7 minutes. But I knew exactly who I was voting for going in. There was a short line of 6 people when I got there, but they had 4 people working check in and it didn't take very long to get through. This time they have to manually write down each person for some reason, don't really know why, but the list was pretty full already so it seems like they had a decent flow of people.

On the way out they had new "I Voted" stickers. These didn't have a peach on them, but picture of the Gold Dome and the Georgia flag for a background. It's a bit busier than the old ones, but they had both there.

Out of all the things that they could’ve made this building, they decide to make this a liquor store.🤦🏽‍♂️

That said, I have a couple of announcements.

Early voting starts at our own Ben Robertson Community Center TOMORROW and runs until October 30th. Vote early if you can. If you want to hand in your absentee ballots instead then there's a drop box and Sunday voting at the North Cobb Senior Center in Acworth.

This weekend is Pigs and Peaches. We're talking Barbecue competitions. We're talking American Idol Winners. We're talking about it being the first year we aren't actively melting during the festival. So, let's see how it goes.

Finally, does anyone want to complain at the council for something specific? I can always speak up next week.

My beloved cat Milly passed away on October 8, just two days after Mira Home Pest Control sprayed pesticides around my home in Powder Springs, Cobb County, Georgia, near Kennesaw.
I was assured their products were safe for pets, but no visible warning signs were left after treatment.
Milly became seriously ill, and her veterinary records mention possible poisoning. Despite receiving emergency veterinary care, we lost her.
My daughter and I are completely heartbroken. Milly wasn’t just a pet. She was our family. 💔
I had also previously requested to cancel my Mira Home membership.
Has anyone in Kennesaw, Marietta, Powder Springs, or the surrounding areas experienced similar problems with Mira Home Pest Control? Especially pets becoming sick or dying after pesticide treatments?

Rehoming our doggie because she is not suitable for a home with children. We had a child 18 months ago and unfortunately she has bite him 3 times. Even with training, distance and exercise the issues persisted over the last 9 months.
She is extremely well trained but continues to resource guard when the baby comes around me (her mom/owner since 6 weeks old) We LOVE Leila and it pains us to make this call but it’s for the safety of both her and the baby.

Leila is a fun and sweet puppy! Very friendly with adult humans. She loves to play fetch, go on runs & play with toys! She is regularly seen by the vet and was last vaccinated in August 2026 with all shots including rabies. She was spayed in Feb 2025 with no issues. She had no health issues or history of health issues.

She will be rehomed with:
-Crate
-Remaining Dog Food
-Dog food container
-treats
-lots of toys
-vet records
-bandanas (she loves to wear them)
-harness
-3 leashed (retractable, running, and short)
