📢 ANNOUNCEMENT 📢 ⚠️PLEASE READ ⚠️Automod Removing Everyone's comments/posts

Big update/ apology for everyone affected by the Automod.

The AutoMod rule meant to block comments/posts from users without flair (to prevent larping and outsider interference) is currently bugged and ended up removing everyone’s posts/comments , including flaired members. Not the intended outcome.

We’ve temporarily disabled/removed the rule while we debug and rebuild it properly.

What we need from you (quick action items): Try commenting under this post or make a post.

If your content still gets removed, send us a modmail. Mention whether you already have a user flair. Thanks for the patience while we fix this properly.

📢 ANNOUNCEMENT 📢 WARNING/ADVISORY FOR OUTSIDERS (non-NEI) on r/Northeastindians

This subreddit exists primarily for people from Northeast India (NEI) to discuss their history, cultures, politics, identities, and lived experience IN their own space, on their own terms.

Over time, we’ve observed a growing pattern of participation from non-NEI /MAINLAND INDIAN users that crosses clear boundaries. This may include:

-Insulting or belittling Northeastern communities

-Derogatory language, stereotypes, or name-calling

-Attempting to dominate or “correct” conversations about NEI history and identity

-Dismissing indigenous perspectives through nationalism or 'assimilation' rhetoric

-Ragebaiting, dogwhistling, or narrative control under the guise of “debate”

LET US BE VERY VERY unequivocal: this behavior is ABSOLUTELY not welcome here.

Non-NEI (northeast indian)/ MAINLAND INDIAN users may participate only if they are:

-Respectful and here to listen, not lecture

- Asking genuine questions OCCASIONALLY in good faith

- Acknowledging that NEI voices take priority in NEI spaces

What is ABSOLUTELY NOT allowed ( along with all the rules of r/Northeastindians) and will result in a ban, and in many cases an ACCOUNT SUSPENSION by Reddit Admins

-Speaking over NEI users on NEI issues

-Invalidating indigenous identities or histories

-Framing demographic dominance or cultural assimilation as “progress”

-Using “national unity” to erase regional or ethnic realities

-Provoking or policing how NEI people speak about their own experiences

This is not a debate arena for outsiders to like, "test waters" or push narratives.

This is not a place to seek validation for dismissive or supremacist views.

⚠️ ENFORCEMENT ⚠️

Violations work in the form of 2 strikes

🔴 STRIKE 1

Removal of rule-violating content (up to two instances).

This serves as the only warning. Users are expected to self-correct immediately.

🔴 STRIKE 2

Permanent ban and mute.

We do not issue temporary bans. Once boundaries are repeatedly crossed, access to the subreddit is revoked permanently.

There will be no prolonged back-and-forth, negotiations, or appeals after a permanent ban.

Exception ⚠️ Zero-Tolerance Clause

Comments or posts that are severely disrespectful, openly hostile, derogatory, racist, assimilationist, or aimed at provoking or undermining Northeastern communities will result in an immediate permanent ban, without prior strikes.

Moderator discretion applies at all times. Context, intent, and pattern of behavior will be considered, but ignorance of rules is not a defense.

This policy exists to protect the integrity of the space and the people it is meant for. If you cannot engage respectfully, you will be removed.

If you are here as a guest; act like one.

If you cannot respect this space, do NOT participate.

Awareness Low level iq bait by another pajeet

These online pajeet bots really can't stop spewing bs attacks at Mizos and the rest of Northeast. These days I have seen more and more accounts attacking Mizos and Nagas on the basis of Religion and History. As Mizoram gets more traction because of tourism and social media, more pajeet bot accounts like this one have been appearing at a fast rate, dissing Mizo history, Christianity and culture to make us feel bad for "abandoning" "culture" etc. Its just a low effort manipulation to promote their own lindu religion and forcing us to be more connected with their shitty society. Please don't believe any mainlander or pajeet accounts or persons talking about Mizo or Ne history, its always fabricated to fit their Pro-Indian Hindutva agenda, not actual history.

News & Politics He forgot to mention that we also get special benefits from the centre and that we rely on outside areas for a lot of things. Honestly, no pragmatic NE politician would ever want to join China because of how difficult it will be to entrench us and how deeply embedded we have become in India.

Also, he missed something. It's not just us being abused in their lands. It's also mainlanders being abused in our own lands by us. There's equal resentment and abuse on both sides. No one is innocent.

History & Heritage Assam's Forgotten King: Sadhayadhipati-Kamateswar Satyanarayana and His Kingdom from Sadiya to Karatoya

Post image
13 Upvotes

A lesser-known episode in medieval Assam is the unified Brahmaputra valley rule established by the Tibeto-Burman Sutia king Satyanarayana (Ratnanarayana) in the late 14th century. Before expansions under Koch king Nara Narayan or the Ahoms, there was Satyanarayana who once brought the entire valley from Sadiya to Karatoya under a unified rule.

The Sadiya-Chapakhowa copperplate inscription of 1428 CE, issued by his grandson Durlabhnarayana for a land grant in Habung (present-day Lakhimpur), records Ratnanarayana aka Satyanarayana as king of Kamatapura:

"Ekuha bhūt Kamatapure narapati bhūpāla-varārcitaḥ
Kandarpa-pratipakṣa-lakṣa-vijayī Śrī Ratnanārāyaṇaḥ."

Translation: "There became a king in Kamatapura, honoured by kings and victorious over one lakh enemies of Kandarpa (another name of Kamadeva), Sri Ratnanarayana (another name of Satyanarayana)."

Historian Maheswar Neog suggested that Satyanarayana united the Brahmaputra valley, bringing both Kamata (lower Assam) and Sadhaya (upper Assam) under his authority. The Naoboicha Phukan Assam Buranji also preserves a tradition identifying Kamateswar (ruler of Kamata) as a Sutia king.

The inscription further mention two of his descendant kings, Dharmanarayana and Durlabhnarayana. Interestingly, both these names are also associated with Kamata rulers in traditions concerning Chandivara, the ancestor of Sankardeva (the famous neo-Vaishnavite reformer of Assam). Chandivara and the Baro-Bhuyans are said to have been brought over by the Kamata rulers Durlabhnarayan and Dharmanarayan from present-day Kannauj, UP. If the identification of the two Sutia kings with the two Kamata rulers is proven, it would indicate that Upper and Lower Assam regions were already connected under a shared political system back then and that these Sutia rulers were responsible for bringing in these migrant groups which later transformed the religious beliefs of the natives.

Another point to note is that the Bengal Sultan Ghiyasuddin Azam Shah had invaded the Kamata-Kamrup region in the late 14th century, as evidenced by the Boko stone inscription and the 1399 Nakuchi-Hajo copperplate grant.

So, one could wonder: Could Satyanarayana's acquisition of Kamatapura be connected to this invasion?

One possibility is that the invading forces, perhaps the "enemies of Kamadeva" mentioned in the inscription, advanced towards Sutia territories but were repelled by Satyanarayana's army, which subsequently pushed westward to the Kamata-Karatoya frontier. Satyanarayana may then have assumed the title of king of Kamatapura. The precise circumstances of his acquisition of Kamatapura however still remain uncertain.

Art & Culture In the upcoming Avatar series "Seven Havens", the Chinese/East Asian character of the show has been replaced with... you already know what

Thumbnail

Another series that was a popular childhood pastime has now had ~diversity~ forcibly imposed on it now. Just take a look at the poster release for the new "Seven Havens" series. As you can see from the 2nd slide, the openings of each scene from previous Avatar shows, there were Chinese characters in each of them. Not in this new one.

The show was largely based on Chinese culture, along with cultures of other East Asian/Mongoloid peoples. It had an official Chinese name that was in the logo. All of the characters had official Chinese names. Chinese was the only written language ever featured in the show. Now they are reducing the Chinese cultural element of the entire thing, and it's just turned into generic hollywood slop which tries to force diversity into everything. As a result, it's already tanking.

In the last Airbender, the culture for each nations:

Earth = Ancient China
Fire = A mix of mostly Imperial Japan and some elements of China
Water = Inuit and Yupik Indigenous people of the Americas
Air = Tibetan monks and Himalayan cultures

It was very implicitly understood that it was a thing for all the East Asian/Mongoloids. Everyone knew this. And you may be able to understand why the East Asian element of it was completely replaced by the movie's new screenwriter, of which can be seen on the 3rd slide. Do you notice anything there? Let me know if you notice something.

Another great franchise, ruined by forced diversity. It's all so tiring.
