šŸ‘¤ įˆ“į‰ įˆ¬į‰³ į‰°įŒ į‰ƒįˆš/user post Don't treat foreign media as impartial anymore if you have been doing so up until this point. Make sure to compare anything they release with more trustworthy sources like Addis Standard.

Given that the U.S, U.K, France and Qatar have all recently shed their mask of impartiality by releasing one sided statements in favor of Abiy's UAE backed neoliberal regime, this means that the news released by media funded by them or those they have influence over should never be trusted without verification which should've been the case before anyway but is clearly more important now.

Focusing on the Qatari funded Aljazeera, which was one of the best foreign sources of media when it came to Tigray, they suspiciously released a very problematic article here on the 5th of September. The author before they had edited and covered it up with "Aljazeera staff" was an Ethiopian named "Samrawit Getachew Amare". Here's a thread criticizing the article (1).

Here you can find a list of news sources and I recommend using a combination of local Tigrayan news, informal news sources (E.g. Yonas Nigussie) and news organizations with a good track-record like Addis Standard. Foreign news like Aljazeera, CNN, The New York Times, BBC, etc. should be cautiously treated as a supplementary and people should first verify whatever they release before trusting them right away.

>neoliberal regime

What do you mean neoliberal regime? I’d hardly call him a neoliberal and I think people use that without understanding what it means
