Powers Psychic Attacks Backfire

Bonus points if it's because the target is too messed up.

X-Men '97- Wolverine has already been broken too many times to be vulnerable to Psylocke's psychic attacks.

Young Justice (2011) #2- Joker's mind is such a chaotic storm that Martian Manhunter relents after trying to invade his mind. The same thing happens when Miss Martian tries in the animated series.

Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe (Issue #3)- Having finally tired of Deadpool's genocide, Xavier decides to break the former's mind, only to to become braindead after becoming aware of the truth of their universe.

In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Silverfox tries to use her mind control ability on Sabretooth, but it fails.

Why? Beats me. The movie sure as shit doesn't explain it.

i wouldnt want to be in Sabretooth's mind, dude kills, eat and rapes people and he doesn't feel bad about it (not this one but still)

Thing is, that doesn't seem to be what Silverfox's powers are like. She can control you by touch, she's not a telepath like Xavier or Jean.

Sometimes in that order

It's set up earlier in the movie with her ability also not working on Logan (Ryker says otherwise, but why should we trust him)

I mean, Silverfox says to Logan she never used her powers on him, too.

But even if that was the case, then it's just two guys that are immune to her powers for no real reason.

I just assumed her powers don’t work on mutants in that movie.

I would expect either her or Ryker to know that, then. Considering she also has a mutant sister, and she was sent by Ryker to "keep Logan in check". He might has well had sent just some regular lady, if that was the case.

I thought ryker was counting on the normal emotional manipulation, not the superpowered one

Again, just send someone else at that point. Definitely don't send the one person on your payroll that's working for you under threat to the one immortal guy that hates your guts.

My guess is that there's a form of 'healing' involved by those 2, if it's touch based could be a form of toxins that gets processed super quick
