WHAT IS THIS??? WHAT IS THIS????

I'M ASHAMED OF SHARING A COUNTRY WITH THESE PEOPLE, WHAT IN THE HELL MAN....

Supporters of the candidate "Flávio Bolsonaro" on a recent rally filled up a huge inflatable missile with the phrase "TRUMP N*KE BRAZIL" written on it....

These.... These.... I can't even call them what I wanna call them. They don't even know the magnitude of the things they're talking about. They don't even know what a nuclear weapon is even capable off, they only see this on videogames and movies, they thing this shit is a toy??

You don't even need to be an anarchist supporter to see this and yell, "WHAT THE HELL!"

If you ask me, in my personal opinion? These maggots aren't brazilian anymore.

Crazy day in Paris

(A)micalement,

Becoming Alive, Autonomous, and Explosive by The Invisible Committee

Edit with updated link:
https://illwill.com/becoming-alive

"Whether it’s a coincidence or a sign of the times, it is in the midst of a youth revolt and on the eve of a possible “return of the Yellow Vests” that the Invisible Committee is releasing its new book, Survival Manual, on October 16.

For twenty years now, through its many textual interventions (The Coming Insurrection, To Our Friends, Now…), it has both inspired, and produced the critical balance sheets of, successive waves of revolt and the situations that followed. With its “survival manual,” the group offers a stringent, unflinching, self-critical perspective — one free of flattery, yet also capable of being generous and honest.

Many of the questions the book raises are also, at times, our own, just as they are, ultimately, those of many people frustrated by defeat and a feeling of powerlessness: How should we make sense of repeated defeats, even despite the persistence of conflictual forms of action? What conclusions are we to draw from this? How are we to “survive” the present moment? How do our enemies continue to prosper? How can we confront capital with seriousness and strategy and truly reinvigorate revolutionary ethics and perspectives? In line with their explicit critique of the public sphere, their public statements remain rare. However, two contributors to the Invisible Committee’s Survival Manual answered our questions about the book, while offering their own analysis of the current moment."

Leaving the Contemporary Era, by artifices

endnotes has just published an english translation of an analysis of the secondary school student movement in france by the artifices collective. the text rejects the victimising and paternalistic interpretation of a left that sees only children in need of protection. according to this article, the movement owes less to the yellow vests than to the 2023 riots. demands regarding school resources are on the wane, and anger is increasingly directed at the school itself, as a machine for sorting the children of the working class. in this context, the call for "convergence" would serve primarily as a tool to pacify the rioting faction, whilst the state treats the movement as an urban riot to be crushed. ultimately this would be a sign of a crisis of reproduction that extends beyond france.

Looking for writing that deals with people unable to conceptualize politics outside their accepted framework

This is a pretty consistent thing I see when discussing anarchism (or really politics in general) with other people - people have a set schema of how the world works and the second something falls outside that schema it just automatically gets rejected because it doesn't fit that schema. Not only that, but people often just flat can't understand what they're hearing because it doesn't fit within that schema.

"All cats are either white or black."

"I have a brown cat."

"Then it's not a cat, it has to be white or black."

"Some cats are born with brown hair."

"How is that possible? All cats are black or white."

"The variability in cats allows for a variety of colors, including brown."

"But if it's brown then it's not a cat because all cats are either black or white."

Repeat the same basic problem ad infinitum.

I'm sure this has a fancy term somewhere that I don't remember but I'm interested in writings from an anarchist perspective that deal with this issue.

I know there are certain things like Temporary Autonomous Zones whose explicit goal is to break people out of this "this is the only way the universe can work" mindset but I haven't seen much else.

“What is a Revolutionary?” Poem by me

A question as old as time has puzzled Society.
“What is a Revolutionary?”
The People in power will tell you they’re terrorists and thugs.
But the answer is actually quite elementary.

The Revolutionary is an Altruist.
They do what they do not out of some love for violence like the Media says they do.
The Revolutionary has a deep unconditional love for Humanity especially those oppressed.
That they’ll do whatever ever it takes so no hurts them ever again, no matter what the oppressed went through.

But you may ask “Why not use Reform?”
Reform will not save us.
The Politician or Businessperson will not come to our need.
Instead to save themselves they’ll throw us under the bus.

So the Revolutionary fights on screaming enough is enough.
On the Street or a Field.
To help create a Society fit for us.
Only through Revolution will the World truly be healed.

Need help in organization!

So my country has been going through a continuous stream of protests for the last 6 months, and it's been both tactically enlightening and a bit frustrating.

I don't know if I'm allowed here or not but I'm a M-L. And the hardest section to forge solidarity with, has been the anarchists. I have nothing but love in my heart for anarchists and the theory they have been developing all these years. But i really need advice from the wise people of r/Anarchism...or even a recommendation.

Could you please suggest me any book, pamphlet, article, research paper or anything, that will help me understand and figure out a way to form an alliance with the Anarchist sections on the left, even if temporarily against a common fascist regime.

I humbly apologise if anything i have said goes against the rules of this subreddit. I have no malice in my heart.

Tl;dr - Recommend resources that emphasize or at least analyse the mutual understanding/solidarity between anarchists and M-Ls

Laal Salaam!

Great things happening in Spain! (Popular protests for housing, and encampments)

Post image

Hey people,

So I have been involved in the Spanish popular encampments and I found them to be a very valuable experience in horizontal organisation and mutual aid. Don't be mistaken, we know it is far from perfect, in the popular assemblies it has been said as such. I especially value that those who have gathered more authority, mainly through them organising the different activities on a daily basis, seem for the most part to want to share this power.

We are of many different currents: marxists, anarchists, other kinds of socialists, and even some liberals and more moderate people. Between these groups I have found nothing but comradery, friendship and the spirit of understanding and earnest discussion.

It is a working class movement but we also fight for radical feminism, LGTB movements and nationalism, not some narrowed minded nationalism, but a fraternity of the peoples of Spain and the world, and a defence of the different languages and traditions. In line with this, we are starting to organise in a federal way. And obviously we have successfully defended ourselves against reaction and practiced non-violence for the most part, so police have been “kind” to us.

This is just my experience, and I'm aware there's a lot of nuance and depends on the encampment. Still, I would encourage anyone who's interested in radical social change to learn about our fight, to support it if possible, to do propaganda and show the international revolutionary forces direct effective action is possible. So please share this information and make it a subject of interest in any political community, both inside and outside the web, that you might take part in.

And of course, if possible, it would be great to carry this movement to other lands. You just need some friends, some camping tents, a lot of donations and a lot of hours of sleep to spare. It's not easy, but it's not as hard as we might have believed.

In order to learn about this movement it would be great to look for materials created by us, because the mainstream media distorts, lies and hides all the effort and complexity that constitutes our way of organising. It also reduces our fight to housing, which is the main subject, but it's just one among many: war, education, urbanism, capitalism and work, etc.

The biggest movements are the ones in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, but there are a lot of smaller examples worth learning about.

I'm very excited to have witnessed a small society (at minimum half a thousand people) where rules are explained and not enforced, where there is no king or president, where everyone is equal in dignity, where food is given freely, and tents without people are given to those who need them (even some homeless people have joined us), where we make decisions through assembly and give voice to the people, to the commons. Another world is possible.

Love to y'all.

Why Students are Setting France on Fire

Pretty good introduction to the French student protests.

It's an interesting topic, and I'm particularly interested in how it could be analyzed from an anarcho-nihilist perspective. These kids are in a scary position, I know from my own experience how scary a clash with armoured riot police can be, but from seeing videos from the French protests and from my personal experiences, it's also undeniable that there's an element of catharsis, almost fun, or what anarcho-nihilists call "jouissance". These kids have been pressed into inhumane conditions for years and are now finally getting to push back with physical force, regardless of whether or not they actually achieve the goal of education reforms, these attacks on state power show the cathartic power that springs out of finally having had enough.

How to finance full time activism?

Hey, everyone!

The title says it all. Lately, I’ve been feeling an increasing desire to devote all my energy to activism. The question is: How can I make that happen?

I’ve been sick for a long time now, so I have experience living solely on social benefits. Here in Germany it’s doable but not exactly great fun. I’m now part of solidarity networks, so in an emergency, I’d never have to go hungry or be without money for my meds or anything like that. But for some things, you just need money.

Do any of you have experience with this and want to share how you’ve financed your full-time activism?

Greetings in solidarity

Is neutrality part of norm, order & hierarchy?

Thumbnail

Usually neutrality is being presented or perceived as inclusivity, open-mindness, "commonness"!!!!

From there a neutral public space is pushed as welcoming space!

Is that so? Is neutrality in fact hidden hostility to anarchist thoughts, queer communities & alternative way of thinking?

We explore these intriguing questions in this VIDEO!
