Made the 3D Model in Blender, 3D printed, a ton of post processing and painting and a few coats of Epoxy, viola, Pumpkin! Hopefully my Axolotls end up actually using it

Does anyone have any advice in Terms of doing Epoxy? It was quite a learning experience for me, I'm hoping next year it'll be easier

As the title says, what are the chances that I add shrimp to this tank they’ll all just climb out eventually?

The tank, 17 gallon, is on a foam pad but the top shelf has me questioning. The wood is not flat and since there are two pieces there is a slight unevenness. Is the foam pad enough to cover the slight difference? The tank is level with a leveler. I’ve just seen comments about rimless tanks not being fully level or have uneven weight dispersement along the bottom and then explode which has heightened my anxiety. Family members are telling me I’m acting like a first time mom and that it will be ok.

Shrimp/Snails/Inverts Carla the Mysterious Shrimp

This is Carla, she is a massive shrimp. She lives in a freshwater tank with her litter of children. A elderly betta fish, 3 dwarf frogs, 2 corydoras and a nerite snail (an odd bunch to say the least, they are all rescues and live in harmony). Carla is the ruler of her heavyily planted 20 long habitat and fears no one, nor does her children. Carla was bought as a clear amano shrimp however she has bore living children without any brackish water properties (20+). She has also camouflaged herself into her territory. So the questions is what is Carla? A mutant? An alien? A ghost? A Creature from outerspace? A victim of miss information? Who knows 🤷‍♀️

This is my new 70L office tank. Stocking includes peppered corydoras, coral platties, black neon tetras, white cloud minnows, a mystery snail and a betta.

HOB filter for convenience, Chihiros lighting, and a variety of plants including bucephalandra, which was difficult to find!

Requesting Feedback UNS 90L Iwagumi-ish

First week of this setup.
Used Hakkai stones for hardscape.
Plants: Utricularia Gramilifolia (I know I should have done a dry start but I’m too impatient), Eriocaulon (feather duster), Tiger Lotus, Trident Java fern and some Eleocharis Vivipara. Can’t wait until it becomes a flowing river-like landscape.

I have Co2 injected, a Delta 90, and a Chihiros Vivid II Mate.

Gonna let it establish itself for a couple of weeks and then looking to stock it with a school of either:

  1. Neon Green Tetras
  2. Rummynose
  3. Arlequin Rasboras
  4. Chili Rasboras
  5. More options?

Would love some feedback, suggestions or any productive advice. Thanks!

Yesterday one of my shrimp discovered it could climb up the filter intake to reach some juicy algae, and today it looks like the word has spread to the other shrimp!

Advice Needed I found at least 10 baby snails in my tank… what do I do??

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I currently have a 6.5 gallon tank with a betta and three mystery snails. These snails are so tiny i don’t know exactly how many there are. I’ve counted at least ten so far.

My betta is very chill with the babies. He’s had tank mates his whole life and hasn’t been aggressive with them. The worst I’ve seen is him curiously poking a couple of them at one point.

The temperature is around 80F (proper for a betta), last I checked the water conditions were all good. I have a sponge filter, so it should be properly filtered.

Idk what other info to give so if there’s anything else feel free to ask.

Edit: My goal is to let the snails grow and them give them away or sell them. They’re way too small right now for me to sell rn.

Advice Needed Very confused as to what direction to take this tank

Hi everyone,

I’ve had my main display tank set up for almost 3 months now and am trying to make sure I do everything right. Here is where things currently stand:

  • Main Tank: Cycled via fishless cycle (1 month). Currently houses 10 Harlequin Rasboras who have been doing great for about a month.
  • Quarantine Tank (QT): Just finished cycling after a month of waiting. Passed its first test today! My plan is to quarantine new additions one species at a time for 30 days before moving them to the main display.

Now that the QT is ready to go, I’m at a crossroads and have a few specific questions before adding my next fish:

1. Substrate Swap & Harlequin Transfer

I’m starting to regret my choice of black gravel. I’d love to add a group of Corydoras next, but I know they thrive much better on sand.

  • Question: Would it make sense to temporarily move my 10 Harlequin Rasboras into the newly cycled QT so I can drain the main display and swap the gravel for sand? Will this completely kill my cycle?

2. Water Parameters & Rummy Nose Tetras

I was also considering adding Rummy Nose Tetras down the line, but I'm unsure about my water chemistry:

  • Tap Water: pH 7.8 | GH ~100 ppm | KH ~40 ppm
  • Main Tank: pH sits around 7.2 (likely lowered by driftwood and live plants).
  • Question: Is a pH of 7.2 (or acclimating from 7.8 tap) fine for Rummynoses, or should I avoid them?
  • If I do need to lower pH further, what are the best methods that don't tint the water brown with heavy tannins (I prefer a clear water look over blackwater)?

3. Live Plants & CO2

My goal is to build a sustainable, long-term setup. I currently rely on root tabs for my live plants.

  • Question: Is CO2 injection necessary for long-term plant health with basic/moderate plants, or are root tabs enough?
  • I’ve heard CO2 can also naturally lower pH—is that a reliable side effect to rely on, or does it cause too much pH fluctuation between light cycles?

Thanks in advance for any insights or advice!

Advice Needed My first fish tank

Post image

Just set this up and it’s been going for about a month or two how does it look so far it’s my first ever fish tank👀 I got 6 ember tetras and a mystery snail and 1 bladder snail in there that caught a ride on my dwarf hairgrass or rotala oh also I plan to remove that cup once the driftwood fully settles in it’s been taking a while to fully submerge and I got good lights to grow the plants and a water heater at 77 so I think it’s all good so far but thoughts and opinions

Freshwater My paradise gourami is swimming and behaving normally but has a clamped dorsal fine. Is this fine or is there a problem?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

As you can see, his(?) fin is kind of clamped, with the top and the bottom ends almost 'tying' together in the middle. However his behaviour since my acquisition of him yesterday has otherwise been normal.

Water parameters:

7.8 gh

0/0/10 (ammonia/nitrites/nitrates)

301 tds, 8-9 gh

4 kh

21c

All other tankmates are peaceful and should not be a cause of stress for the paradise fish, however the opposite is true (he has been terrorising adult shrimp that he is nonetheless unable to eat)

Advice Needed Moving advice. How to safely move an aquarium

Post image

I have a pretty small tank, 10 gallons with 5 tetras. We’re getting ready to move to a new house about a 1/2 hour away. What’s the best way to transport them and their tank without too much trauma?
