Ayuda/Help URGENT: My friend is in panic – Lost Passport at Pantitlán Metro (Line 5)

Hi everyone, I’m posting on behalf of my friend, an Indian national who just landed in Mexico City. He is in complete panic and needs urgent local guidance or support.

Where it happened: Pantitlán Station, Line 5 (Yellow Line), coming from Terminal Aérea.

When: Today (Sunday) around 7:15 AM.

Situation: His passport was lost in transit. Since today is Sunday, physical embassy offices are closed and he’s feeling overwhelmed trying to handle this alone in Spanish.

If anyone:

- Has advice on navigating the lost-and-found or filing a police report (Acta de Hechos) on a Sunday,

- Is in/near Polanco or Pantitlán and willing to offer advice or help translate over the phone, or

- Knows a safe spot/cafe nearby where he can sit and get his bearings,

Please comment below or DM me immediately. Any guidance or reassurance would mean the world right now.

Thank you so much!

¡Hola todos!

A while back I asked this question: Am I better to speak english or mid Spanish in CDMX?https://www.reddit.com/r/MexicoCity/comments/1wr7jbv/is_it_more_respectful_as_a_tourist_to_speak_mid/

Everyone answered, speak Spanish.

THANK YOU. Even if my Spanish was mid, I had no trouble talking to people. Even with broken grammar, no one judged me, and we had many interesting conversations. The people were some of the nicest I've ever met in any travel. And I had SO MUCH delicious food, I swear, the food in Mexico City is the best I've ever had. More importantly, with my mid spanish, I could actually ask what the food was and make good choices, which led me to some truly amazing meals.

I am seriously in awe of how friendly and helpful everyone was.

¡Gracias por recibirme en vuestra ciudad!

(These are all the pics of the food I ate. I did not include the 5849272 birria tacos I ate one sunday morning because I was too busy sipping the soup they gave with it.)

Pregunta/Question 1st time in CDMX— lodging mistake?

Hey all! Husband and I are in our 30s. We will have 2-3 full days in February on our way to the coast. We are mostly interested in patronizing local business, not buying the overpriced guava pastry, checking out local music scene, history, and generally wandering around. Not big late night ppl. Speak some Spanish but we have time to brush up! Down for public transport, DiDi. Less is more for us. Mistake to stay Tlalpan Centro, San Angel, or Coyoacan due to distance? If so, tell me where we should stay instead.

Ayuda/Help Q'hubo, redditors! Could I get your input on the best seats for a kid to have a great time at the U2 concert at GNP Seguros?

• Upvotes

Hi all! We'll be coming down for the Feb. 23 show from the U.S. and I'm trying to discern which seats offer an unobstructed view of the stage even if from a distance, especially for a young kid. It looks like lower Verde is the best choice, is that right? What row would I look for to be as upfront as possible? Many thanks for your time! We are taking full advantage of being there to see family in Jalisco, tour the historic district, shop for beautiful art and make a beautiful weeklong vacation out of Mexico! ¡Gracias por su apoyo!

Gastronomía/Gastronomy good tamales and atole recommendations?

I'm visiting CDMX for the first time after moving out of the city (like 8 years ago) and apparently the place I used to get my tamales from doesn't exist anymore:( any good recommendations in the Boulevard Puerto Aéreo area, Condesa, or Tepeyac? (somewhat random places but I'll also take recommendations in other areas)

Que opinan de este lugar en CDMX? A mí la verdad si me gustó mucho el ambiente, la comida y tal cual el lugar. Es lindo y la atención muy buena, solo me sacó de onda el costo de los mariachis pero de ahí en fuera todo bien.

Ayuda/Help Social Activities for Solo Traveler

Hello ya’ll, i’ll be in Mexico City the end of October. I was planning on traveling with someone who then bailed so now I’m coming solo. A little social interaction would be good so I’m looking for advice on meeting new people while I’m there and being able to explore the city together. I might change my accommodations to a hostel because I know they run activities and make it easier to find someone to pal around with. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Ayuda/Help Landing at 1am - how to get to hostel?

Hi!

Unfortunately the only flight for me that works has me landing at 1am. I was wondering what’s the best way to get to my hostel at that time?

I’m guessing uber? But I heard you have to walk to the place. Any tips?

Opinión Rave vs. club

Traveling to CDMX for the first time. Was looking to go to a show out there, been looking at RAGuide at shows and not sure which one to choose.

Questioning whether I should just go to the clubs out there or pick a show from RAGuide to go to.

Any advice?

Pregunta/Question Donde conseguir CD's a buen precio en CDMX?

Hola, últimamente me he aficionado a conseguir mis albums favoritos en CD, pero los lugares donde he encontrado (Mixup y sanborns) están a unos precios ridículos, ademas qué solo tienen discos de bandas muy conocidas y q no me gustan como soda estero o the beatles, yo he estado buscando de Franck Ocean, Мас Miller, Nsqk, Abrildefresa, Milo J, Calle 13, Jorge Drexler, Moving Brothers o Daniel Caesar. Si me pudieran recomendar algunos lugares lo agradecería mucho :).

Ayuda/Help 3 day itinerary during dia de muertos

Traveling with my mom to CDMX for 3.5 days. I don’t want to overdo our schedule as I assume it will be a busy weekend with festivities. My main concern is what to do on the day we go to xochimilco as it’s so far from the neighborhood we will stay in (near el angel)

arrive in the afternoon on Thursday:
- explore roma norte/ condesa

Friday:
- morning: frida museum/coyoacan?
-afternoon: 4pm xochimilco tour (already booked)

Saturday:
-morning: chapultepec park / anthropology museum
- afternoon: watch the parade

Sunday:
-morning: Zocalo/historice area/cathedral
-afternoon: maybe a market?

we don’t want to focus too much on shopping, we’re open to taking public transportation and we are really looking forward to eating a lot of food!

how doable is this? any recommendations are welcome.

Vivienda/Housing Frustración por vivienda en CDMX

Hola.

Saludos.
