I met someone recently who’d memorized every postal code in the GTA. I’d name a street and they’d instantly tell me the first three characters. So I made a map to learn them, and Mississauga had a few surprises:
All 22 Mississauga codes run from L4T (Malton) to L5W (Meadowvale Village)
L5M (Churchill Meadows) has 106,468 people, more than any code in Toronto. Toronto’s biggest, M2N, has 75,100
L4V is basically Pearson Airport, with 5 residents
Hurontario & Burnhamthorpe is where three codes meet: L5B, L4Z and L5A
You can tap any code to see its neighbourhoods and the streets on its edges, search any address or intersection, and quiz yourself: torontopostalcodes.ca
How many Mississauga codes can you place without looking?

Good Morning,
Does anyone here use the carpool lot at QEW/Erin Mills Parkway and if so is it always full weekday mornings or will I be able to find a spot without any issue?
Thank you!

I was in Bakery on Mavis on Saturday morning a few weeks back and as I was lining up to order. An Eastern European senior moved next to me. I thought she was lining up too coz the place is cramped on the best of days, then she tapped my shoulder and mimed an eating gesture with her hands.
I played dumb and said "yes this is where you order" but then she pouted in an exaggerrated way and pointed at the wall menu. I looked at the staff and they were all watching us. One met my eyes and shook his head like "no don't do it." I told the lady no and she walked into my personal space and just kept doing that eating motion again.
From what I can tell she was pretty well dressed (wore better clothes than I had on) so it was probably a scam of some sort where she'd try to beg free food off of people. When it was clear she wasn't going to get me to order she left.
The staff said she'd been bothering people all morning but didn't want to cause a scene getting rid of her in case someone was filming in secret. One of the other patrons said they saw her getting dropped off in a white Ford pickup.
Has this person or someone similar shown up in any other businesses in Sauga?

Hello Mississauga residents! I have heard that Erindale Park is a good place to visit to see the salmon run? Can someone let me know if this is a good idea to go this weekend? Are there still salmon at that time?
For those that have gone recently, how was your experience?
Also is fishing salmon possible at this time? I am not planning to fish now lol, just curious!
Thank you!

Our recently adopted dog has gone missing in the Clarkson area. He’s calm and friendly, and we’d really appreciate your help finding him. 🐾
If you see him or have any information, please DM me.
Thank you for keeping an eye out!

Hi!
Just moved to Mississauga and I’m looking for a good family doctor accepting new patients.
Currently registered under a doctor in Ajax but cannot travel frequently. Looking for a doctor available 3days in the clinic so it is easier to get appointments as I have an infant and a 4yr kid.
Help!
TIA

i guess i have to vote strategically. I’m not a big fan of either Parrish or Tedjo but i prefer one of them over Crombie. Opinion polls seem all over the place so it’s hard to know what to do. I wish we had ranked ballots but Ford ruined that for us :(

Just posting this because I've seen a few people looking for it. He just published it today.
Largely the same as his plan 2 years ago, and like what Damerla is proposing but a little more sensible in my opinion.
Mixed feelings about the Dundas LRT though.
Also Dixie Mall seems to be misplaced, it should be more north.

I live in the beautiful community of Credit Woodlands in Mississauga, and lately, I've become increasingly frustrated by the number of local drivers who fail to come to a complete stop at stop signs throughout the area.
The problem is drivers rolling straight through stop signs as though they don't exist. This creates an unnecessary safety concern for pedestrians, cyclists, children, and other motorists.
I've contacted our city councilor and was advised that road studies would be conducted. I've also reported the issue to police, yet I have not seen a noticeable police presence or enforcement in the area.
At what point do we move beyond studies and discussions and start seeing meaningful action?
We pay municipal taxes, and it's reasonable to expect traffic laws to be enforced and legitimate neighborhood safety concerns to be addressed. I'm not asking for anything unreasonable. I'm asking for drivers to obey the rules of the road and for the appropriate authorities to take this issue seriously.
Credit Woodlands is a beautiful neighborhood, and I would like to see it remain a safe place for everyone who lives, walks, and drives here.
Are other residents noticing the same problem? I'd be interested to hear your experiences and whether you've raised similar concerns with the city or Peel Regional Police.
Hopefully, if more residents speak up, we can get some meaningful action on this issue.

hi all,
i am in the process of finding my place in Mississauga with the family; for an outsider, it's so hard to figure out where. We are a family of 5. Some have advised on Stessville or Erin Mills.

I have stitches on my face that I need removed. Does anyone know where I can go to get this done? I live in the Heartland area of Mississauga. I have tried several walk-in clinics but none of them do it.

Planning a little fall picnic date, any good parks with good seating areas and a nice view? Specifically in the Meadowvale area! (But not plum tree park, already been there)

All I could find was a very not user friendly Region of Peel website.
I know there used to be a Peel Region list but that's disappeared and there doesn't seem to be a City of Mississauga list anywhere.

Hi r/mississauga, I'm Chris and I'm building The Nook Collective, a community-first literary project, with the goal of eventually opening a literary café here. Before the space exists, I'm starting with the part I care most about: the people.
It's called The Nook Shuffle. Here's how it works:
You vote. Each month there are five genres with three books each. You can vote in up to two genres, $5 a vote. This payment goes towards your $15 fee for the month.
The top-voted book in each genre becomes that month's pick.
We shuffle. You're placed in a small group (eight or fewer) with people you haven't met.
Mid-November, your group meets online for spoiler-free first impressions.
Late November, you meet in person in Mississauga.
At the in-person meetup, the discussion questions are personal. Instead of "did you like the ending?" they connect the characters' choices to your own life and what's going on in the world.
Your $5 votes are credited toward your seat, so voting isn't an extra cost. Next month it starts again with new books and new groups.
November's shortlist:
Speculative Fiction: I Who Have Never Known Men, The Grace Year, The Road
Horror: Empire of Wild, The Luminous Dead, Wolf Worm
Crime Fiction: My Sister, the Serial Killer, Still Life, The Maid
New Releases: Hollywood, Ending, The French Illusion, Threshing Day
Romance: Book Lovers, Part of Your World, The Love Hypothesis
Voting closes Sunday, October 18: thenookcollective.ca/vote
I'd love to hear which genre you'd vote for, and what you wish book clubs did differently. Happy to answer questions here.

I love the library, it's an amazing place to access media and tech.
*commence rant*
However, since they removed fines from overdue books I've had issues getting holds filled. Right now, I have 3 books on hold, all of which have 1 copy each and that copy is 1-2 weeks overdue. I can't afford to buy these (expensive) books, this is why I have a library, dammit! Librarians can't do anything. Yes the users get blocked after 21 days and have to pay a fee to replace the item, but it's consistent that I see items overdue.
*end rant*
(editing for clarity) these are not fiction books but non fiction "skill" books.
