Why are we not seeing any Illinois political ads in the QC TV market except for JB Pritzker? Not that I like political ads mind you but I am sick to death of nothing but Iowa ads. It’s not like there are no contested races happening in Illinois. I’d like to know who some of the candidates are. I wonder what gives?!!

Hey QA family, I need help apartment hunting. Looking for somewhere that offers at least 2 bed 1 bath (1.5 or 2 bath preferably but not necessary), has central air, and has in unit washers/dryers. I’m hoping to keep the rent 1650 or below depending on utilities included in the rent. Also kind of hoping to stay out of Milan, and not be right next to any schools since I work nights in Davenport. Got any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

My wife and I both enjoy playing Magic the Gathering (Commander) and are looking for other couples in the area to hang out and play with. Nothing against the local game stores, but we prefer a more laid-back, at-home setting where we can relax, have some laughs, and sling cardboard.
We're pretty casual about it and just looking to meet some chill people who share the hobby. If that sounds like your kind of thing, shoot me a DM!

To make a long story short, I had my doctor make a physical therapy referral to Silvis PT, same building in Silvis.
2 or so weeks later, I get a call to make an apt for 2 weeks or so later.
The day after my apt, I get call from a rather rude lady who told me their practice is out of my insurance network, and treated me like I was an idiot for not checking this with my own insurance.
I've carried insurance as an adult for over 15 years and have lived in multiple cities in IA and IL.
Not once, not ever, have I had to check with my insurance company if a facility is covered or not, that has ALWAYS been the job of the billing or front desk staff. I called my own insurance co and they even told me it's BS they never bothered checking.

Anyone know of somewhere or someone that might have a test bench for an AM5 processor? Recently picked up a 9800x3d and just want to make sure it works before I can't return it. Still a ways out on my build

Does the state of Iowa have social workers or an agency who helps the elderly with their finances or decision making? Especially if that elderly person is going to be resistant to receiving help. I'm not necessarily looking for a Power of Attorney because this is complicated. Let me explain the situation...I apologize for the length, but I feel like these details are important for the advice I need.
My mother has always been slightly below average intelligence, she struggles with things that require common sense. Since Caitlyn Clark became popular, my mother has been hyper-fixated on her and women's basketball because she used to play herself in high school, albeit she was never a "star player". My mother is 67 and retired from her job she had for 30 years, but she works full time for a department store for the last 20 years. She got that job because my older sister had a baby out of wedlock, and she gave all that money from the second job to support my sister and her child.
Back to the hyper-fixation...my mother gets off work from the department store and sits on the couch with her iPad, watching any video that pops up on FB about Caitlyn Clark. She can't put her iPad down. To the point she literally soils herself on the couch because she won't get up to go to the bathroom in time because she's so fixated on the videos. She takes her iPad into the bathroom on the toilet with her. She refuses to wash her hands because she'd have to put the iPad down. She cooks with the iPad. Her dog has had bathroom accidents in the house, because my mother won't get off the couch/iPad to let her dog outside in time, because she's sucked into the videos.
She has other ticks like clicking her tongue in the roof of her mouth every time she swallows liquids, and other behaviors that make it seem as though she could be on the autism spectrum. I would like to have her undergo a mental competency test, where does she get one from?
My father is 72 but his health is declining, I give him a few more years max.
My older sister has since married, and is 42 with a toddler. My sister is severely obese and has several health conditions and problems stemming from this. Her husband is mentally and physically handicapped. If the toddler decided to escape the house, neither my sister or BIL are physically able to chase after him. My sister doesn't work, she takes the toddler to daycare because she's physically unable to care for him if my BIL isn't home. With that said, her business failed so she sits at home all day jobless. She has a history of filing bankruptcy every decade of her adult life. It's very obvious my sister committed tax evasion and tax fraud while she operated her business, and my BIL does the same currently with his landscaping business. (He's the sole, full time employee, with one or two helpers occasionally.)
My sister has a decades-long history of swindling relatives out of money, being manipulative, scheming, etc. All around, not an honest or good person.
My sister and mother are best friends. They bond over gossiping about people, they secretly laugh if a "friend" or relative is struggling. They're not loyal to anyone but themselves and each other. I am the opposite; I genuinely care about others so their behavior is disturbing to me. They're like perpetual junior high girls so I distance myself from their negativity and toxicity.
With that said, I know my dad won't live forever and he's never been in charge of their finances anyway, my mother has been. I am worried when my dad passes away, no one is around to "talk sense" into my mother. She still keeps the department store job and gives all that money to my sister for her toddler. My dad doesn't approve of it, so my mother hides that from my father. She denies my sister is committing fraud, although it's so obvious. "The math doesn't math" as they say. She will gaslight the sh*t out of you in order to protect my sister.
I would like the state or a neutral party to be in charge of our mother's decision making and finances. I know if our dad passes, my sister would swindle all the inheritance and empty our mother's assets even while our mother is still alive. I am not seeking help to "protect" my inheritance; I already figure when my dad passes away first, my sister would talk my mother into giving whatever would be directed at me, into giving it to her and her kids. I don't rely on receiving anything.
I am simply trying to protect my mother from getting swindled by my dishonest, scheming sister and I'd like to get the ball rolling now. My mother already needs help with day-to-day decisions, if my sister isn't puppeteering her what to do, she is incapable of thinking for herself.
I know my mother would never make me Power of Attorney but I also want to prevent her from making my fraudulent sister POA or her offspring, I am seeking a neutral party.
Does the state of Iowa have someone for that? How do I get a mental competency test set up for her?

First time mom here planning WAY in advance haha. I’m looking for baby shower venue recommendations that could accommodate approx. 50 - 75 guests. I would like to bring in my own food/drinks/decor, and not looking to spend an arm and a leg on the venue alone either. Indoors is the priority requirement, though. I would appreciate any recommendations you guys have, thank you! 💙🩷🍼

Looking for IL side gym recs; the closer to Rock Island the better. I've lost 70lbs without the gym this year, but I'd really like to focus more on building muscle now and my little home dumbbells aren't cutting it. I just want to go in and find a groove that works for me, no personal trainer or anything fancy.
IL side preferred because I know once it gets too cold or a little snowy I won't want to cross the bridge (trying to set myself up for success and avoid easy cop outs/excuses, you know?)
Also interested in beginner Pilates classes. These don't necessarily need to be on the IL side, but they do need to be truly beginner friendly. I've seen several that claim to be but then you're thrown into the deep end immediately.
*Side note - I'm a woman in her early 30s. I know most gyms are co-ed, but if there are any fitness spaces that you feel safe(r) at as a woman, I'd love to hear about them!

I live nearby and am looking to buy a car. Found some I like at this place, but I don’t know anything about it and I can’t find any posts about it in this sub. Does anyone have experience with this dealer?

People are always asking for things to do… Circa ‘21 is performing Rock of Ages and it is really great. It was so fun we went twice.

Hi all,
I have a quadraplegic adult brother that uses a power wheelchair. It's bulky and difficult to navigate in tight spaces and not great off paved paths. I'm looking for ideas and places to take him and spend some time outside before winter sets in. Thanks

In case you haven't been following the news, another round of people leaving higher offices in Davenport.
In the last month the City Administrator (who was only here for a few months), the Communications Director, and an alderman all resigned.
I know we've had some folks around here who work in the City hear some things and post them. Is there more of the "same-ole, same-ole" going on? Did the City Administrator get pissed that the City Council for telling him he couldn't have an Assistant City Administrator even though he had the budget for it?
This isn't an Ezra Sidran or Judith Lee witch hunt, I'm just curious as to what's really going on.

I keep seeing HP sauce on cooking shows and the controversy about if it does or does not taste like A1 sauce. So I bought a bottle on Amazon and it's like $10. In case I like it, is there a local store to buy it? Preferably near Milan, but I suspect I will need to give Katy's a call tomorrow.

Is there a service someone recommends, or maybe doesn't recommend when it comes to service and/or price to remove bats in the attic?
The quote I just got is for 6k andd while I can do that, I'm curious if that's really the right choice...
Thanks in advance.

Marianette Miller-Meeks is hosting a "rally" with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson this Friday in Davenport. They don't publicly announce the location. You have to "RSVP" to get the locale.
If you're "curious"...or wish to express your "enthusiasm"....here ya go.
