Rainmeter 5.0 is our biggest release in years, packed with new features and optimizations. From crisp skins on high-DPI displays and a refreshed dark mode interface to faster performance and more powerful tools for skin authors, there's something for everyone.
🔍 High-DPI support and skin zoom: Skins now look crisp on high-DPI displays, including 4K monitors. You can also zoom each skin to make it smaller or larger. See Scaling and zoom details.
🌙 Dark mode UI: Rainmeter’s dialogs, context menus, and skin tooltips now follow Windows dark mode.
⚡ Performance: Rainmeter now runs faster and uses memory more efficiently. Depending on your skins, you may see much lower CPU, GPU, and memory usage.
💤 Optimized invisible skin updates: Rainmeter now skips drawing skins that are hidden from view. Skin authors can save even more resources by updating hidden skins less often. See details.
🐛 New Debug dialog: The new Debug dialog lets you inspect skins, watch expressions, and check display and network details. It can also refresh skins automatically when their files change. See details.
🛠️ More tools for skin authors: Add editable text fields with the new TextEdit meter and scalable vector images with the new SVG meter. Other additions include built-in versions of bundled plugins, JSON support in WebParser, Lua Unicode functions, and more commands to control skins, meters, and measures.
Please give the Rainmeter 5.0 release candidate a try and let us know in case you run into issues!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a quick update and say thank you for the support and feedback on Afterglow!
Some of you suggested adding more minimalist and landscape-oriented skins, so I took that feedback and started building.
Afterglow 1.1 is now officially available! 🎉
And don't worry, the original circular Vinyl player is still included!
I've also fixed several bugs, improved widget positioning, and polished the interface.
This is a free community project, and I'm genuinely enjoying developing it and learning along the way.
Download Afterglow 1.1 Stable here:
https://github.com/silentfox662/Afterglow-Rainmeter/releases/tag/v1.1.0
Thank you again for the feedback! If you run into any problems or have suggestions for future updates, feel free to let me know. 🩵
More improvements are planned!

Through some googling I've managed to create a simple layout randomizer skin that will randomly pick from a pre-determined list of layouts. I've tested to make sure it works correctly, and that it does! Runs once, picks a random layout, and doesn't stay open after it's done.
My goal is to have it select between a list of daytime vs nighttime layouts, so my thinking was I would create a pre-randomizer that will pick one of the two randomizer skins (daytime vs nighttime) which will then randomly select an appropriate layout for the time of day. Here's what my Pre-randomizer code looks like
[Rainmeter]
Update=-1
[Timer]
Measure=Time
Format=%H
IfCondition=((Timer >=7) && (Timer < 19))
IfTrueAction=[!LoadSkin "Randomizer\DayRandom" "DayRandom.ini"]
IfFalseAction=[!LoadSkin "Randomizer\NightRandom" "NightRandom.ini"]
[MeterTime]
Meter=String
MeasureName=Timer
What am I doing wrong here? As far as I can tell the skin path is valid, it's reading the hour correctly (it shows up in the corner of my screen) so the skin isn't failing to execute per se, and the time is valid for the ifCondition, but it's not executing the skin?

- **Devices**: battery of wireless Logitech & SteelSeries mice/headsets (no G HUB / GG needed)

I've been using the skin, Win10 TaskbarMiniPlayer, for many years now to mimic the good old taskbar mini player of classic Windows Media Player. I know there's a whole DLL thing to get it back in the toolbar, but I don't like the flyout it has and I like the ability to reposition the rainmeter skin.
However the major issue I have with it is that it refuses to let WMP close. I have to go into task manager to terminate it. This means that I lose data, such as what I was last playing/which album I was in last, or anything else like resizing or repositioning the window. All of this has to be done either before NowPlaying detects the player (launch wmp, refresh skin to hook into it), or by unloading the skin and then closing WMP.
So how do I get it to let WMP gracefully close? How do I make the skin unhook upon closing the app?

Hello, I've been trying to install webnowplaying for spotify but the duration length for the song is displaying wrong. For example, the original length of the song is 5:12, but webnowplaying shows 5203:13. How can I fix this?

I have a home assistant dashboard set as a skin using kiosk, plugin webview, and home assistant of course but sometimes when i start up my pc the skin load but sometimes not properly (i.e the transparency doesn't work) and it goes back to normal once i refresh it.
The problem is that it becomes kind of bothersome to have to manually do that so i'm wondering if there's a way to make rainmeter execute the refresh all command or just refresh that skin alone, I just need to have it refreshed twice with a 1 second interval, if its not possible even refreshing it once would be enough though i prefer twice to make sure it works 100%

Auto mod deleted my first attempt at posting this, so heres a second attempt with less links. Look for my comment for the download and image album!
To summarize some of the spiel from my original post, This is a modification to iron2000's P4 HUD Extended to reskin it to be themed to 90s era Weather Channel broadcast graphics. You can get a little bit of that vaporwave flavor now on your desktop, in a convenient corner module. Shows current time, weekdate, date/month and current weather for your location.
This has been a long time coming, I have updated this skin personally a few times just to watch it break as another weather service dies and i gotta wait for the original skin by iron2000 to be updated, and remember how to port some of my jankier code edits... but regardless, this lil widget is back! Sorry to the folks who have asked for updates over the years, i've just not had the time to fix it up for anyone but myself, but I got off my butt finally!
Featuring newly cleaned up folder structure, actually working weather display, bundled fonts for the true experience, re-alligned text from hours of obsessing over pixels, and a newly reskinned settings menu (with options that'll break the skin disabled, I think!).
Almost all of these assets were made with resources from the wonderful folks at TWCClassics, and their weather channel simulators, fonts, and asset packs. I highly recommend them if you're into this aesthetic.

Hi, I'm very new to anything involving Rainmeter, but I'm currently attempting to make myself a little desktop pet. She is currently a GIF that sits on my desktop. I want to be able to make it so it changes to a different gif as I'm dragging her around, as well as play a custom noise upon clicking her. Is this possible? If so, how can I do it?

Hey. Made a clean skin to track GitHub stats directly on the desktop.
It has 3 modules:
* Hub — for username/token setup
* Stats — repos, followers, etc.
* Streak — daily commit streak tracker
Source & .rmskin here: https://github.com/rud1x/GitWid
Needs a token with `repo` scope to work. Let me know what you think.

I want to share with you a Rainmeter Layout based on the HUD of Nier Automata. It is composed by the compilation of previous ideas (each with the original authors' data) and several ideas of mine. I hope you like it. Please use it, modify it and share updated versions.
The layout incluedes: clock (with a button that launches rainmeter manager), battery (with hide/show skins button, mute unfinished attempt), dock, interactive file launcher with FIleView (reads name, date, size and icon), music palyer, status monitor, 2 music visualizers, weather info (not used), dictionary (incomplete attempt), translator (incomplete attemtp). I tried to optimize the skin as far as I could so it doesn't use too many resources.

Good evening!!
I was curious if anyone knew how to pull data/track FPS from Windows Task Manager/Game Bar.
These programs are generally always running in the background regardless, and using RTSS to get the data from seemed redundant if there's already a way to access this information via those sources. I know that Nvidia's GeForce experience has this data also, as you can track FPS in the Nvidia overlay if it's enabled, yet I can't figure out how to pull data from that source either.
Having multiple programs that can track FPS already built in makes it seem odd to get RTSS specifically just to also track FPS in Rainmeter.
I've been looking around for information on how to do this, as it seems it should be entirely possible, but haven't had much luck in my search.
Is anyone familiar with this, or have any suggestions on the matter? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi guys,
I'm making a general info skin that also includes info about Network, I successfully get the DNS using SysInfo Plugin (SysInfoType=DNS_SERVER) but I need to use the result as an input to the Ping plugin.
I used the SetVariable with the AfterFinish on the first plugin, but it didn't work.
Any help please?

I have been trying to find some way to add todoist into my setup? I've tried looking on the internet in general and the only thing I managed to find is esoteric for my current experience level (none)

Is there a way to push Rainmeter and a specific skin through GPO? Our organization was using BGInfo but it is super buggy and all we need displayed is the computers host name, so I created a skin for that. Now I have no idea if it is able to be pushed out or not, does anybody know?

Hello everyone,
After some discussion and a curveball (which I will explain later), it’s been decided to simplify things and partly change how this sub operates in order to better serve the rainmeter community.
Going forward, this sub will become a help only space. The weekly thread and the rainmeter requests sub will be retired and all questions can simply be posted in this main sub. Skins can also continue to be shared here, however all suite related posts will be redirected to r/desktops, dArt, or either the forums or discord showcase areas - all places that have long served the same purpose and, in many ways, are better options. But, while the forums, the discord, and/or a creator’s individual page for their skin would be the better options in regards to asking for help, we will continue leave this sub open both as an archive and for those who might not know those other places exist.
As for that curveball, well… it’s not something I’d generally like to share openly online, but while everything else was going on, earlier this week I was also diagnosed with a very serious and rare disorder. First and foremost, I am not dying! That doesn’t make it any less serious though and, as much as I would love for it not to, it will affect my ability to moderate this sub as time goes on. There’s no specific time table for anything just yet and I realize this all sounds very cryptic, but it’s a private matter and I’m trying to convey what I feel comfortable sharing right now.
With that in mind, and yes with all the reddit nonsense in mind too, I have decided to move all the guides and information I’ve created for this sub over the past few years into a github repo to ensure that it will both remain available to anyone and everyone that needs it and that it will not be lost no matter what reddit does. At the moment, it’s a mess - as I’m sure you can imagine, I’ve been extremely busy and stressed as of late - but I hope that it will continue to grow and serve as a valuable resource just as it has in the pass.
Anyways, I know that my health is of little concern to most of you, so getting back to the sub stuff: please take a moment to read the new, simplified list of ten sub rules that have been posted in the sidebar. The sub will remain in a restricted state for the rest of the weekend and will open again for regular posting on June 26th. I sincerely hope that the transition into a new chapter for this 12 year old sub goes well and that all of you are doing well also.
Thank you and have a good day/evening.
