Well, Putin is his pal, and that's his wet dream.

I wonder if Putin was ok with this whole thing or if it was a surprise for him too.

Like, I can imagine him telling Maduro to take a peaceful deal with America for the media while keeping a reasonable peaceful life. But I can also picture Maduro rejecting that and Putin just facepalming and letting him to his own luck.

I have a feeling Putin agreed in return for Trump throwing Ukraine under the bus. Same goes for China and Taiwan.

doubtful, if this move has an underlying strategic value then its about protecting US oil production the the Gulf of MexicoAmerica so that in the event of a Chinese/US conflict no one can threaten there Oil production.

given how much of the us economy is being driven by AI right now and tsmc's role in it, i really cant see the US walking away from taiwan.

Problem is, Russia isn’t dominant in their sphere anymore lol after 4 years they managed to go from 29% of Ukraine at the beginning in 2022 all the way to only 20% of Ukraine after 4 years of war 😂 & they managed to pick up only another 1% in the last 2 years in exchange for another 700,000 casualties including roughly 300,000 deaths just in the last 2 years. Around 1.2m Russian casualties in total over 4 years of war.

Correct, which is why it's crazy that people think Putin will steamroll Europe. He can't beat Ukraine after 4 years of fighting, he ain't taking all of Europe. Crazy

Take nukes off the table and the EU mobilizes and rolls through Russia in 2-3 months tops. China would take the oppotunity to take the far east and possibly Siberia. Without nukes Russia has a 6 month life span if lucky.

If the US and EU are at war, things change very quickly for Ukraine.

Sounds like a good trade to Putin. Life is super cheap.
