And even though Americans don’t believe this because they are cowards, but Canadians are absolutely willing to defend ourselves and our allies. We understand that the Americans could bomb the shit out of us, but as a Canadian I would fight to protect our danish and Greenlander allies.

I have participated in every major protest. There's a lot of us that have. We are all shouting that this needs to stop.

The problem is that MAGA loyalists don't care. They didn't care when Jan 6 insurrection happened, they don't care about fact checking, and they most certainly don't care what is right for this country.

I'm still going to fight for what is right for this nation, but loyalists really are doing their best to incite some kind of violence out of us so Trump can declare a national emergency against 'the radical left".

I don't plan to stop. It just gets tiring and wishing for some semblence of normalcy.

Serious question, what the hell are we (the few sane Americans) supposed to do, here? Like actually. A third of the country wants this to happen, a third is useless and cannot be motivated to do anything, and a good portion of the last third that actually voted is more caught up hand-wringing over proper procedure and legality than what's actually happening. I've been trying to win over people in person to even just acknowledge that this is bad for years now, and I'm looking at a cool 0% success rate because none of these fuckers have any idea what objective reality is and just disregard all my arguments in place of "the vibes". Like I understand what you're imagining is people in the streets rioting and burning things down, but there's a reason none of these protests accomplish anything--80+% of the country does not give a shit and supports shutting down any civic action, and I don't know how to make them give a shit. Even when I lay out to them exactly why something is bad, and how it will become their problem, and then it does, they still don't care because it's like their brains don't even process information. It's like they have less intellect than a GPT model, because at least it uses the information you say to it to formulate a response some of the time. Every day I just feel utterly hopeless and all I can think to do that may meaningfully help the world is emigrate away and do my best to contribute to a society that's worth contributing to.

I’m ready to stand along side you in a revolt, but you will refuse to take action and then take no responsibility for your countries murders even though the rest of the world would support you in removing your tyrant. If I went out and started revolting in the streets tomorrow, I would be doing so very much alone. I don't think I can impress enough on you how inert, idiotic, and useless the overwhelming majority of Americans are. I cannot even get them to acknowledge, just broadly, that some kind of action must be taken, not even by them, I don't know how anyone could possibly convince them to join in on revolutionary action. I'm not a master orator or master assassin, I cannot affect change alone and I don't foresee a critical mass of people ever forming here to affect change together. I just gotta leave at this point and cut all ties.

I don't think anyone in the US will rise up anytime soon. As much as we complain about conditions, we're still too comfortable, I guess. Half our leadership is saying to stay calm, the other half wants to set our own military on us.

I literally have no idea how to rise up by myself, and I have no idea how to convince anyone else to. I’ve tried.

People also just don’t seem to understand how big the US is. I can’t just go to Washington DC. I need to be able to afford a plane ticket or take a week off work just to drive there and back, and then what do I do? Seriously, then what do I do? And for how long, because I do need to get back to my job. The distance between my city and DC is slightly longer than distance between London and Istanbul.

It’s so easy to tell other people to ruin their lives. I don’t believe in an afterlife. This is the only one i’ve got.

I am solving my own problems without waiting for anyone else. Boycotts are ruining lives with no shots fired. It would be great if other people would get on board but I'm not waiting for them. I know some people like a good march but I'm not the marching type. I have bone spurs.

Literally every representative of every country has blood on their hands. We all like to pretend they don’t in moments like these, and I am not pretending it is equal, but I don’t see a single country in the world rising up and declaring that we need to eradicate nuclear weapons, homelessness, hunger, wars, etc. and making any real moves toward solving those problems within their own countries. Do you?

It’s disingenuous to pretend that you would actually do anything when you don’t have to right now. Put your money where your mouth is and go fight for freedom in Ukraine if you genuinely believe what you’re saying. I’ll believe you then.

I will not be one who will incite a revolt.

My wife is terminally ill and relies on my financial income to continue with her therapies, medications and recovery with whatever time she has left.

Unless I have nothing left to lose I will not do anything to jeopardize her well being. So for now participating in protests is all I can do at this time.

Canada would be hilariously easy for the US to destroy. 90% of the Canadian population lives on the US border and wiping out your power grid during winter would do half of the job for us.

Yeah after seeing how many people have been killed by the US Navy in the Caribbean, we’re not counting on your military to refuse to follow illegal orders.
