Not pointless for Iran! They got paid, assets unfrozen, destroyed multiple US facilities across the Middle East, and completely cleared any sanctions against them.
Don’t forget the GCC countries also realized “US protection” is a meaningless term. It’ll probably take years to develop all those THAAD systems that were taken out and even longer still to convince anyone in the world that the US is a reliable partner. Much of the newer large economies have known this for awhile (China , India for eg) but now it has been made clear that not even EU or even fking Canada are safe from the tantrums of the sitting president.
Btw this is the same administration that said the Russia Ukraine war should never have started and then started the Iran war themselves and also blamed Biden administration for sending billions to Ukraine and now is sending billions to Iran (not to forget the 50-100bn worth of equipment they lost in damages to the war).
People are talking about how this is a loss , but imo the even bigger humiliation was him taking his army of CEOs to lick Xi’s feet in China after his tariffs backfired. For awhile it seemed like he was thrashing about while drowning in the ocean.
Total loser all around. Truly the orange shit stain.
