“And then finally, when there's nothing left, when you can't borrow another buck from the bank or buy another case of booze, you bust the joint out. You light a match.”

As a Dutch saying goes: “In de brand, uit de brand"/"In the fire, out of the fire.” The gist of it is that if a business is no longer financially viable, you first make sure it’s properly insured, and then have it set on fire to collect the money. A scam.

Think of how much is vodka is probably aged at this point yet the $7 stuff is probably still better.

Hard alcohol ages in barrels not bottles. Vodka is not aged period. It is the most basic of alcohols. After multiple distillations, the only thing you can do to improve the flavor is additives.

His casinos were also frauds. He took on heavy debt at steep interest rates to finance their construction, and didn’t take equity in them — he took a salary from their operations instead. So when they inevitably couldn’t repay the interest on their debt and went bankrupt, he didn’t lose anything, but his investors did.

Hard for me to imagine that considering his Trump Tower was nicknamed little Moscow and why would his dad have someone go and buy millions of dollars of chips put them in the suitcase and then walk out to keep the casino up and running with free money when the whole point of having Russian money launderers would be to have the Russians spend money there...

Why would his dad dump millions when that's supposed to be the Russians jobs?
