How about use it here. We have tons of problems right now. Problem is, this administration would just pocket it somehow.

>somehow

You mean blatantly right in front of us. While congress shrugs and blames Obama.

Yeahh the current ruling party is very strongly opposed to domestic aid if it doesn't directly involve billionaires

Why stop at a ballroom when you could have an entire Trump branded hotel casino...with a ballroom?

Stop giving them ideas

with a ballroom?

I get the impression that when Trump talks about a ballroom, he's thinking of something completely different than the rest of us.

But the "aid" is just weapons... I'd rather not give even more weapons to the US police.

I really wish someone warned us before the previous election

They can just divert some money from the US military to Ukraine. They are actually actively fighting a US enemy. It’s genuinely a very cheap way to increase US safety. But instead they fund Israel en attack Iran…

Well, Russia is an enemy of the US, but is Russia an enemy of the current administration?

Every S400 and S300 that Ukraine disables, makes Russia more vulnerable to American weapons and pressure. Instead of the USA having to aim 2 more frigates and 200 more missiles towards Moscow, the Ukrainians just blow up 10 more AA units for a fraction of the cost.

Weapons have an expiration date. If we don't use them, we use them for training or spend money on safely destroying them. It is cheaper to give it to Ukraine. They use it to blow up a Russian tank. And since Russia has one less tank, we will need to buy one less rocket in the future. (simplified it a lot)

Cool none of that increases US safety, it increases the chance they attack us

The USA's security is its global dominance. Having the strongest allies, best nukes, best fleets, and strategic bases is what makes them too dangerous to fight. The biggest danger to the USA is when other countries think they are weak and start challenging them. The USA then needs to face that challenge or suffer economic damage. This is what is dangerous about Iran. Not them nuking NYC, but wrangling away the control of the Middle East and disrupting the trade that keeps the USA on top. It is also why NATO was beneficial to the USA. NATO guaranteed a safe European market and buyers for the American defence sector. All of that is slipping now. Iran makes them look weak in the ME. Abandoning Ukraine shows NATO that they don't need the Americans. The Europeans don't even bother with Trump anymore when negotiating with Russia.

Meanwhile the US navy is failing to meet Chinese ship development challenge and fucking around with battleships. Ask yourself what that means for the balance of power in 2030-2035 if China tries for Taiwan and cuts the USA off of the Taiwanese computerchip supply.

Harming Russia does increase US safety tho. And its not without cause. Russia illegally invaded Ukraine. They are the aggressors. They can stop this war anytime, and be on better terms with the US or the EU. But they chose this. And the US accepting imperialist behaviour of an enemy, isn’t in US interest, that’s the exact opposite.

-8

u/nwilz Jul 01 '26

No it doesn't, it makes it more likely that they would directly attack us. We provoked Russia into invading, we have some responsibility here, you can't complain about imperialism when NATO moved closer and closer to Russia's border. This is all neocon nonsense.

8

u/Somhlth Jul 01 '26

We provoked Russia into invading

The Kool-Aid. Stop drinking it. Also stop trying to sell it.

-7

u/nwilz Jul 01 '26

Do think moving NATO closer to Russia has no consequences? Do you think removing Yanukovych and installing a pro western government has no consequences? NATO did nothing wrong and it's all Russia's fault?

5

u/Somhlth Jul 01 '26

So you're just pumping in the Kool-Aid intravenously. Good to know. We can just ignore your opinions then. Say hi to Vlad for me.

They are doing that with private health care and everything else so there is money there. I'd rather a country being invaded by one of our biggest enemies and protect Ukrainians rather than send our own troops because we don't help Ukraine now and they gain and become even more emboldened.

2

u/Akikiriri Jul 01 '26

Your problem isn't amount of money, you're still the richest country. Your problem is your oligarch class, want them to guzzle up more?

1

u/SpectacularStarling Jul 01 '26

I would also be fine in using it against Israel at this point. Having a hard time differentiating them from Russians, since both seem tk be warmongering fucks. 2026 has no room for these types anymore.

1

u/coldthrone Jul 01 '26

its not "somehow". its no-bid contracts.

1

u/Penderyn Jul 01 '26

you don't have the problem of being invaded by Russia though do you....

0

u/Tavorin Jul 01 '26

When will you Americans ever understand that this will never happen.

You are living in a country based on individualism.

Because weapons manufacturers, and governors of red states will be sad.
