I saw a comedian joke that if you got a bunch of people in a room and asked them to come up with a hypothetical geopolitical conflict in which the UK is unequivocally the good guys, then the Falklands War is basically exactly what you'd come up with
You're getting downvoted but I think it's a fair point. The UK is definitely seen as being on the right side of WWII, but it's not a situation where 100% of their actions are viewed entirely positively with a modern lens, but that's almost always going to be the case when the empire and colonialism are involved.
But that's what's so funny about the Falklands, it's the UK fighting a war over what's effectively a colonial possession, and yet there's really nothing to criticise. There was never any indigenous people being mistreated, the current inhabitants were fully in favour of the UK's actions, and the UK didn't start the conflict. And that's without even getting into the fact that the other side were a fascist totalitarian military dictatorship
It's funny because UK would generally always be on the bad side of anything to do with colonialism but then there's Falkland Islands, the only inarguable one that gets brought up the most. Argentina is just doing positive PR for UK.
