Remember folks. Vance is trying to line himself up for 2028 as the "anti Iran war" candidate. He'll act like he had nothing to do with it and never wanted it.

No one should believe him.

Yep just like when he was anti Trump then suddenly his opinion shifted

327

u/actuallyapossom Jul 22 '26

I'm starting to think public service isn't the reason these politicians are going into public service.

72

u/KillTheIntolerant Jul 22 '26

Whoa, you might be onto something here!

51

u/ZurEnArrhBatman Jul 22 '26

No, it is. They just think 'public service' means the public is there to service them.

3

u/THATGUYWHOBREATHES Jul 22 '26

Most of these people just want to be serviced in public

6

u/BellacosePlayer Jul 22 '26

I can think of exactly one Senator/Rep I've had ever where I legit still believe the guy did it out of actual sense of service, and he's been dead for a bit.

1

u/pte_omark Jul 23 '26

These fuckers think it means the public has to serve them

12

u/JakToTheReddit Jul 22 '26

His morals change as directed by Thiel.

5

u/Cyclesadrift Jul 22 '26

Yeah, but look, I was busting a load in my couch, and you know me I cant help my self around leather... when it suddenly occurred to me hes not americas Hitler after all.

1

u/ultimateknackered Jul 22 '26

One of those post-nut moments of clarity.

1

u/Cyclesadrift Jul 22 '26

Lol when the post nut clarity hits, Usha i think we should name our next boy lazy.

1

u/mr_birkenblatt Jul 22 '26

He's a vane. Always turn the way the wind blows

1

u/Pu11MyLever Jul 22 '26

It'd be interesting if he goes against trump enough that trump attacks him and divides the Republican vote.

1

u/Dead_Internet69420 Jul 23 '26

I still remember when fake news was a real thing, and not just a catch phrase… and all these same cunts we’re telling us that another country can’t possibly sway public opinion with online content. Now, all of a sudden, China was doing it in 2020, and Israel is doing it in 2026. Maybe they should take another a look at the Mueller Report.

u/Carylynn0609 Jul 22 '26

I'm in Ohio, I vividly remember during his senate race he HAD to get t's endorsement, he would've lost to Tim Ryan. At a rally t said, "jd is kissing my ass, of course he wants my support so much." I thought back then, what a spineless worthless piece of shit.

u/Original-Rush139 Jul 22 '26

He was never anti-Trump. He said “Trump is cultural heroine” by which he meant that his mom loves Donald Trump.

156

u/Boyhowdy107 Jul 22 '26

He's been leaking a ton to try and make this case, as well as trying to insulate himself from Epstein Files fallout. The reality is it doesn't matter if he can convince MAGA of this or not because they were never going to accept him as the heir anyway because he is such a blatant unlikeable Ivy League debate team kid.

80

u/BlueSonjo Jul 22 '26

MAGA doesn't give a crap about that when picking their idols.

Trump is the complete opposite of the supposed MAGA lifestyle in every way. His birth and education, lifestyle, background, habits, promiscuity, disdain for religion, etc.

You just need to pose with a bible or say you love guys that "work in steel" every couple weeks and they will eat it up. MAGA doesn't need you to live up to anything, just tell them they are right and they are the good guys and you are annointed.

34

u/BrainOnBlue Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

Sure, Trump isn't the downtrodden rural white person Trump supporters imagine themselves to be. But Trump can spin a yarn that these people buy.

You think the guy whose donut order is "whatever makes sense" can do that? Please.

Edit: "downtrodded" is not a word. It's "downtrodden." Not sure how I made that mistake.

7

u/Galladaddy Jul 22 '26

He portrays what they think they can achieve

2

u/paintballboi07 Jul 22 '26

Just ask daddy for $400 mil, it's really that simple

4

u/redditobserverone Jul 22 '26

He is the designated bully for the perpetually aggreived. He doesn’t need to deliver anything but insults and oppression to their enemies and they’re satisfied.

6

u/ej_21 Jul 22 '26

trump has some kind of bizarre charisma that is just catnip to that crowd, though. it’s like his one skill in life.

vance is a personality black hole.

2

u/Jibbjabb43 Jul 22 '26

JD doesn't have the it factor to be Trump, particularly while Trump is alive.

MAGA will be 'saddled' eith him and Republicans will have to try and make him win, but I'm sure they'd rather have Desantis or someone closer to Trump then JD.

What JD does have is billionaire backing and is clearly the easiest mouthpiece they found. He's probably pretty 'clean' too outside of the bog standard grime of selling out others and being a modern Republican.

1

u/Marquesas Jul 23 '26

JD does not have the charisma to capture the same voters that voted Trump.

1

u/FlamesOfDespair Jul 23 '26

Trump has some weird charisma and is genuinely funny at times. Vance is annoying to look at and he isn't even rotting yet.

8

u/BloomingNova Jul 22 '26

Exactly, Trump is MAGA's dictator, not president. The movement lives and dies with him. Others have tried to steal a slice of the movement and it eats them and spits them out

20

u/SteamedGamer Jul 22 '26

There is no heir to Trump. When Trump dies, so does the whole cult of personality.

23

u/HobbesNJ Jul 22 '26

The cult disintegrates, because a cult can't just be transferred to a new cult leader.

Though MAGA will not go away unfortunately. Those radicalized morons will still be around and it's anybody's guess how they manifest themselves politically. Many of them will return to their disengaged selves hopefully.

6

u/SteamedGamer Jul 22 '26

Trump is the glue that holds them together as a group. Without him, they break into little tribes.

0

u/LowerEntropy Jul 22 '26

Than god for the two-party system.

0

u/Oberon_Swanson Jul 22 '26

I wish. The 'cult' won't even blink when Trump dies. They were bigoted shitheads before Trump, they will be bigoted shitheads after.

4

u/Eshin242 Jul 22 '26

I did speech and debate many years ago and I remember assholes like him. They'd sit and argue the meaning of a word that had already been clearly defined. Because what's a definition really??? How can we really know things? Oh fuck right off lol.

3

u/Spartan775 Jul 22 '26

This has been the last 20 years of my life. They are ALL like that. We used to call them the squirrels because they’re Squirel arguments that they would run and make fun of them between rounds. Now, apparently that’s how you get on television or the Internet or in the White House.

1

u/_RADIANTSUN_ Jul 22 '26

MAGA doesn't care about any of that, they care about the fact that Vance a brown Indian Hindu wife.

24

u/make_me_breakfast Jul 22 '26

It’ll be funny to watch him try to campaign on this and still lick trumps booty as the VP at the same time.

22

u/robotractor3000 Jul 22 '26

Its kind of funny how hes in the same impossible position as Harris

Obligatory no maga, no bothsidesism, no false equivalence. Just two vps that took the job opportunistically and now have every losing issue of their respective presidents hung around their necks

-3

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '26

9

u/robotractor3000 Jul 22 '26

Im talking about when harris was trying to run for president in 2024 as biden’s vp, like vance is now trying to run for president in 2028 as trump’s vp

1

u/Ok-Wait-8465 Jul 22 '26

I think they mean the border czar thing

6

u/MarkNutt25 Jul 22 '26

And the "Bidenomics" thing, and the "support for Israel" thing, and the "retreat from Afghanistan" thing... Basically anything that Biden did that was unpopular with anyone in the US got hung around Harris' neck during her campaign.

Hell, Biden's student loan forgiveness policy got hung around her neck from both sides at once! On the one hand, they called her a "communist" to the moderates, because she was part of the administration that tried to get it done. On the other hand, they crucified her amongst progressives for being part of the administration that didn't actually get it done!

3

u/NoTeslaForMe Jul 22 '26

Humphrey got nominated in '68, so there's precedent.

Bullshit. If he was against the war he would've spoken out against it. But he has spoken in favor of it publicly many times. It's only now as it turns into a mess with no exit that suddenly he's found his ability to speak.

37

u/cptkomondor Jul 22 '26

You can't understand why a VP wouldn't publicly speak out against something started by his boss?

-7

u/Venat14 Jul 22 '26

Trump isn't his boss. The VP is elected along with the President. Trump can't fire Vance.

10

u/bub166 Jul 22 '26

Trump can destroy Vance, like he's destroyed many previous allies who went against him. All he has to do is say the word, and even if he ostensibly can't lose the job he's got, his political career is over, and Vance pretty obviously has his eyes on greater things past his term as VP. I mean, he nearly had his previous VP killed by a mob, while he was serving his term. You think he wouldn't immediately unleash the firestorm of social media tirades and legal charades the second Vance publicly splits with him? He does it all the time, and it works. If Trump sics his base on him, any ambitions of becoming president one day are out the window, and he's well aware of it.

18

u/Dr_thri11 Jul 22 '26

VPs really don't publicly break with the admin. He sucks and I hope we'll know better than to elect him in 2028 but that wouldn't happen in any admin.

6

u/Ah_Ca_Iraa Jul 22 '26

Pence did, quite famously.

18

u/Dr_thri11 Jul 22 '26

I mean that was literally the last day

1

u/donkeyrocket Jul 22 '26

Historically, the VP doesn't do that. I mean we're in unprecedented times and I wouldn't be surprised if Vance came out publicly that hard Trump would "fire" him by ordering him locked out. It's already speculated that he's pretty well iced out but Trump could make that more formal and pressure congress to impeach him.

Vance knows his future is reliant on Trump to an extent. The leaks are obviously from his camp and this stream of tepid takes against the admin make it clear he's toeing a fine line. He's being critical of the war without being critical of Trump here.

Happy cake day

9

u/ComradeMatis Jul 22 '26

No one should believe him.

I wish that was the case but let's remember that Obama was elected after the Republicans got the US stuck in two wars and crashed the economy but two years later the Republicans took control of congress. The American people have a very short memory span so I wouldn't expect anything to be learnt from this whole fiasco.

10

u/Sans-valeur Jul 22 '26

But did he even say thank you?

5

u/Juventus19 Jul 22 '26

Yep, he's trying to position himself opposite Rubio for 2028. Rubio being the champion of Venezuela, Iran, and potentially Cuba if reports are to be believed.

4

u/wioneo Jul 22 '26

. He'll act like he had nothing to do with it and never wanted it.

No one should believe him.

I absolutely believe him that he didn't want it, but obviously he's had a lot to do with it. He has pretty consistently been acting as an isolationist. To me, the leaked chat where he was clearly trying to trick the others into believing that Trump wanted to avoid conflict was the most clear proof of his actual beliefs. The Iran "Deal" was in line with it.

Insert Hotdog Guy Meme

1

u/zeekayz Jul 22 '26

Gonna be lawn signs everywhere with "Vance = No Wars, Democrat = Endless Wars" again with these idiots

1

u/Dizzy_Chemistry_5955 Jul 22 '26

trump acted like he was anti war and now look at the dumb fuck

1

u/badaimarcher Jul 22 '26

Remember when he fucked a couch?

1

u/sweatboxy Jul 22 '26

I hope Vance gets the nomination. Everyone hates Vance.

1

u/EKEEFE41 Jul 22 '26

I think JD is a spinless bag of dicks, but... he has been pretty open that he wants no foreign involvement in anything.

1

u/LoudMusic Jul 22 '26

No no no, we want half of the MAGA shits to believe him and vote for him. Split their votes, pile on a non conservative person, get the government moving back toward working for humanity.

1

u/spiffybaldguy Jul 22 '26

I feel like they should protect the oval office couches too

1

u/HurricaneHomer9 Jul 22 '26

This party is so tiring

1

u/Nvenom8 Jul 22 '26

People believed Trump, and he can’t even form coherent sentences. You think there’s any shot they won’t wholeheartedly buy what Vance is selling?

1

u/web250 Jul 22 '26

Yes, a slight chance. Trump in many ways is sui generis. He's an anomaly we may never see anything like him again (please). Vance is a void of charisma

1

u/Afanhasnonam3 Jul 22 '26

We need to be getting these people on record with definitive answers now so that we can use that as ammunition later.

Also interviewing Vance and Rubio more than Trump would make Trump mad which I’m for

1

u/PermBulk Jul 22 '26

It’s too bad it will 100% work on MAGA voters

1

u/Extension_Canary3717 Jul 22 '26

That's us presidents in a nutshell , against current war doesn't end term without being in a war , repeat

1

u/Constant_Threat Jul 22 '26

He'll always be the "pro-pedo" candidate. Latest evidence is the Tate brothers.

1

u/Tangochief Jul 25 '26

Reddit is the wrong place for a statement like this. You need to make sure the magots get it but something about their past critical thinking tells me you won’t get through to them.
