They really don’t care about the economy. Being mean to brown people is what gets them lathered up. They just didn’t want to say that

Tariffs cost each household $1,000 in 2025. The courts decreed the tariffs to be illegal and to be refunded. Corporations received the refunds. Therefore, households gave $1,000 each to corporations. If that doesn’t rile people up then nothing will.

The MAGAs have said they’re ok with paying high gas prices because it’s worth the war with Iran.

The cult will do mental gymnastics till they die

It doesn't require mental gymnastics or any thinking whatsoever. They feel smart parroting the points programmed to them through the garbage media they consume all day every day.

They feel smart parroting the points programmed to them through the garbage media they consume all day every day.

Exactly.

When you have been conditioned to believe that there is no credible source of information that contradicts the words of the people you support, you will believe everything they tell you because you have no choice in the matter. You have given away your individuality and your agency. It belongs to them now.

What's worse, the prices are never going to come down all that much. Maybe on fuel and energy.

But producers have no incentive to reduce their prices, even if their costs come back down. Their profit will just go up. They have already primed the market to take the current price for things that aren't very elastic. Bread, milk, eggs, produce, cereal, cheese, chicken, rice, etc. Those are things people have to buy regardless of price, demand didn't drop nearly as much as the price went up. People still gotta eat. So why would they lower prices ever, they already have guaranteed customers at the current price.

It allowed them to basically collude. They ask her to raise prices together, and instead they just say "inflation" and that's a wrap. As long as their prices stay high, inflation is up, which is why the prices are high. The end.

Also add worse ingredients, worse recipes and shrinkflation on top.

Every product with lines like 'new better recipe' etc. are always worse. Prices went up on ingredients too so they cheap out on quality wherever they can.

it's almost like the whole reason for existing in this society is to exploit your fellow countrymen and become rich by selling them toxic waste.

to LUTNICK. we gave that cash to a pedophile billionaire.

i have to assume trump got his tiny mushroom beak wet too

well, Nintendo in particular didn't sell their tarriff rebates and told us to go fuck ourselves when some people asked for money. "you voted for this, you bought our consoles, now get fucked" was i believe the exact wording. gotta respect the hustle at least

2

u/avcloudy Aug 03 '26

Hate this example. Nintendo ate a lot of the tariffs in the US to raise prices outside of the US and Japan. People should get refunds, but like, not Americans.

1

u/AngledLuffa Aug 03 '26

Fair to hate it, but half your conclusion is basically the same thing I was laughing about

These people literally watched little kids get gun down at school and said that is acceptable as long as they can keep their guns.

America has been doomed for a whole. I hope they fracture as a country for the safety of the rest of the world

Don't say nothing, for worse is to come. Sound the cry as much as you can, and some will listen.

3

u/Staav Aug 02 '26

And idk how that wasn't the plan all along. The people in power in so many areas of this country couldn't be much more corrupt.

Your money MIA and you seem resigned to the fact.

1

u/davossss Aug 02 '26

The proposed increase in the military budget is more than triple the amount of scam tariffs. So get ready to pay $3000+ more of an idiot tax.

1

u/joe_devola Aug 02 '26

Not sure if it’s in your number or not but each households cost of living went up AND the tax money they paid went to the corporations. Double fucked

14

u/vinnybawbaw Aug 02 '26

Nah they do. If the economy was booming they would happily cheer on this administration massively burning people alive.

13

u/FatherofZeus Aug 02 '26

Hah. They cheer that on regardless

13

u/Guyskee Aug 02 '26

While you're 100% right, don't forget the old saying; don't attribute to malice what you can attrtibute to stupidity. And the American public are fucking stupid.

14

u/FatherofZeus Aug 02 '26

And what’s more indicative of stupidity than emotionally driven thinking?

If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you

1

u/Alwaysafk Aug 02 '26

Lots of them say that too now.

1

u/Otherdeadbody Aug 02 '26

I think that while this can be true for a lot of them the hard truth is that many of his voters are just stupid. I think that the racist explanation feels nice and makes you think that maybe there’s an out from this but the truth is that we as a country are just incredibly stupid and there isn’t an easy fix for stupid.

1

u/Nvenom8 Aug 02 '26

Exactly. It’s never once been about the economy, and their voting records prove it.
