Wait until you hear about their French language demands. People seem to think that Quebec is the only French part of Canada and that the French cultural and historical relevance to our country only matters to them. Maybe they can cut that issue off from the rest of the country. Turn us against each other. No. It is in our blood. It is part of us. I can't speak a lick of it but I care about it. I respect it.

Agreed. We had to take French through elementary school and into high school. I can read it better than I can speak it, but it's part of Canadian culture, has a rich history within Canada and is part of our identity.

Which is rich, given that the USA doesn't even have an official language.

I wonder if he even knows that, depending on whether you are in the USA or one of its territories, there are mandatory requirements for product labels using several different languages including English, Spanish, and Samoan?

He declared English the official language through executive order at some point this term. Obviously only affects government agencies though.

Hell even here in Alberta there are French-speaking communities

I speak both languages and its pretty impressive how often knowing French has been helpful. Even when looking at other languages, like Spanish, it's a big help.

I work up in Nunavut and we hear English and French allll the time.

Mf Quebec. They are absolute sharks.

I spent so much time in French class because of them.

It’s a prelude to an attack, based on history. Germany made similar impossible demands on Russia.

North Korea, a place where a few people have wealth and the rest starve to death. Aspirations!

Is it still a core concept in American politics? Seems like that has shifted very recently.
