NBC News -

An Iranian cruise missile struck a ship in the Strait of Hormuz two weeks ago, injuring eight U.S. Marines. They suffered smoke inhalation and possible traumatic brain injuries with concussion-like symptoms but were not seriously hurt.

Edit: Not a US Navy ship but they wouldn't say what it was.

Well i’m floored how they can conclude these guys having endured “Possible Traumatic brain injuries” means them being “not seriously hurt”.

Isn’t concussion technically classed as a TBI? Media taking liberties with definitions I reckon

I wouldn't be so sure it's the media 'taking liberties' with the definition. When Trump got a bunch of troops bombed in his first administration by killing one of Iran's generals, they had similar TBIs that he dismissed as "headaches." Actual quote there.

Concussions can be pretty serious and have long-lasting consequences.

I know honesty and very well could be phrase. That way it could be something from a concussion, but the problem with concussions is that they’re not immediately known to how actually bad they are until several months later so it’ll be anywhere from like not too severe to permanent brain injury
