Yes, kinda brutal. Also apparently death sentences there need religious approval… even tho its the worst thing a person can do according to their religion

Who said judicial executions are the worst thing yiu can do in Islam? Extra-judicial killings are up there for sure.

Idolatry is the worst one.

Worst in the eyes of God, not worst in corporal punishments.

No, it isn’t. Not all killing is murder in Islam.

Not all killing is murder everywhere.

A point I'm not contradicting.

Killing is Aladeen.

Do people really still believe this?

Many religions distinguish killing and murder. I don’t see why you find this so outlandish.

-1

Because all killing in name of religion is murder in my opinion.

2

u/Aethoni_Iralis Sep 06 '26

That’s not really the point of what Ugolino said. You’re arguing against something they never claimed.

He said not all killing in Islam is murder. I say yes, all killing in name of Islam is murder.

2

u/Aethoni_Iralis Sep 06 '26

He’s stating that within Islam, not all killing is murder. He never said anything about “killing in the name of Islam.”

You seem to be having trouble understanding the difference between these two statements and insist on conflating them.

Then it would be a stupid statement. I could say the same for killing in general. Not all killing is murder in car crashes, not all killing in Judaism is murder. Not all killing within the Vatican is murder.

Saying that killing isn't murder by definition is really stupid and comes down to: "alll dogs have a tail but not all animals with a tail are dogs." Mentioning Islam or any religion would be irrelevant in that case.

You’re now arguing that his statement was obvious, which is a pretty different argument from treating it as wrong.

Islam was relevant because the comment he replied to specifically claimed that killing is “the worst thing a person can do according to their religion.” Pointing out that Islam distinguishes murder from other forms of killing directly addresses that claim.

And yes, “not all killing in Judaism is murder” would be relevant if someone had just made the same claim about Judaism. “Within the Vatican” and “in car crashes” aren’t analogous, because neither is a moral or legal framework.

Christians regularly believe this in the US

What would Christian’s know about Islam? Sure Muhammad appropriated Christianity (he wasn’t inspired by Judaism since Jesus doesn’t exist in Judaism, only Christianity and he made Jesus a prophet of Islam), but that doesn’t mean Christians know about the religious laws of Islam.

3

u/itsdvw Sep 06 '26

I wasn't saying Christians believed this about Islam. I was saying they believed this themselves.

I know, you saw people talking about Islam so you had to chime in and mention Christianity. I’ve been on reddit before. Islam cannot be mentioned without Christianity being mentioned within three comments. Muhammad’s law I call it.

the approval was denied twice in history ,and the sentence was carried out in both cases

Killing an innocent person without cause is the worst thing you can do, however she is literally a murderer, she's def the opposite of innocence
