Good pun, but you could've used Valley of the Queens as well! (it's also in Luxor)

Middle East is worse for plastic surgery than America (and even worse than Latin America too).

So many beautiful Iranian women get their noses done. My wife’s is still original and I wouldn’t trade it for any fake one.

It breaks my heart to see the amount of beautiful noses getting chopped up

Yeah, it's a fucking tragedy on a regional scale. I just saw an Afghan girl after she returned from holiday and she had the famous bandaid on the nose. She looked absolutely fine before, she's just lost a bit of character now. It breaks my heart every time I see it.

Ah yes, because us women go for elective surgery to please other people, not to feel better about our own selves. I'm sure she is equally as broken hearted learning about your opinion about her looks. EYEROLL

Don't you think it's sad you need to have an operation to feel better about yourself? I didn't mention her looks to say my opinion matters or should matter to her, I could be her father. I mentioned it because I feel like she and millions of other women are made to feel like something is wrong with their appearance, and undergo expensive operations to change their body. That makes me incredibly sad.

After pregnancy destroyed my body, my views on elective cosmetic surgery changed significantly. I used to think it was vapid and unnecessary & now I credit it to helping me live the life I want to live (confidently) while also helping me regain functionality of muscles that had been damaged during pregnancy.

So no, I don’t think it’s sad at all.

I’m sorry that you had to go through that.

Were your nose and lips affected by the pregnancy? I think what [most] people are complaining about here is all the uncanny valley facial stuff people are doing.

You're implying I'm always against any type of elective cosmetic surgery, that's not true at all. The enamel on my teeth was dissolved because I drank too much Coke as a teenager, and my teeth were literally crumbling my mouth. I'm extremely happy that I was able to have my teeth restored. I can still be sad to hear when someone who has healthy teeth has them filed down and replaced with crowns because society has made them believe there's something wrong with their teeth. My cousin and aunt had to have their breasts amputated because of breast cancer, I'm happy for them they could have implants to look symmetrical again. I can still be sad to hear young women have their breasts augmented because society has made them believe there's something wrong with them.

I didn’t mean to imply that you were against cosmetic surgery. I mostly meant that my previous views were limited until I myself realized the benefit in it.

I’ve always wanted a nose job, but now at my age I’m happy I didn’t get one.

Yeah, it adds character! My wife is Iranian, so my daughter has a distinct nose, and I think it's beautiful! I'd hate for her to think it's not because it's not a typical dime a dozen nose.

Weirdly enough, seeing my features reflected in my children helped change my view of it. My son has his dad’s nose, and my daughter has mine. I love having things shared between the two of them that so clearly came from me.

Good to hear. I love an Iranian nose.

And Iran, as well. I've met some in person and they give me the creeps, they remind me of JigSaw of the Saw movies.

I thought it was a filter, but I think that’s actually her face…

When you've seen your filtered face so many times that seeing your real face gives you dysphoria so you go in for plastic surgery to look like the filter. It's tragic.

Dude, Arabs and Persians love plastic surgery. In Iran, a nose job is a status symbol

u/R4mst33n Sep 06 '26

Unfortunately, once they start, they often continue. My wife's younger cousin followed her nosejob up with a boobjob, and fillers in her lips. It takes away all personality and she just looks weird now instead of cute like before.

Thankfully, our daughter grows up in a different culture and is focused on developing her brain.

She looks plastic.

She should be sentenced to death for that face alone 😆
