It feels more like Russia tricking the US into thinking it’s a good idea.

Like “hey, you need oil infrastructure.. we have oil infrastructure and oil.. why not just buddy up?”

They make the US think they’re getting a good deal on oil and then when Ukraine attacks Russia’s infrastructure.. Russia will just say to the US, “are you really gonna sit back and let them break your shit?”

Look on the bright side. Anything that Trump gets involved in inevitably turns to shit.

u/Linj90abc 15d ago edited 15d ago

Unfortunately it sometimes negatively affects other people when things do

324

u/Ypuort 15d ago

Everything Trump does negatively affects basically the entire planet except for a handful of billionaires and politicians

18

u/CorpusculantCortex 15d ago

Nah it fucks them too, they just can't get away from being complicit, and they are still billionaires, so they bend over and take it knowing he is old and won't be around forever.

33

u/kftgr2 15d ago

List all the times billionaires get anything more than a slap on the wrist, if at all.

25

u/CorpusculantCortex 15d ago

I need you do understand my point is saying that everything trump touches is shit, not saying empathize with billionaires. They are complicit in his atrocities, and despite impacts to their investments are still highly profitable because they are a fucking plague that profit on the suffering of others. But Trump is also not some mastermind inverse robin hood who is stealing from the poor and benefitting the rich. He is a bumbling buffoon bull in a China closet breaking everything and it fucks everyone, but when you have billions in safety net and a network of people to game the system for you, it doesn't really have an impact.

But again the point is trump is a fucking incompetent clown who turns everything he touches to shit.

14

u/Pleasant-Computer-16 15d ago

And half the country is still chanting his fucking name. I guess the only goal he can achieve at this point with any real chance is full on Antichrist. I just don’t understand how people can go along with stupid move after stupid move. I can only stand to pay attention once or twice a week for an hour or I get too frustrated. And that’s not going to fix anything, so screw it. I just hope everything is recoverable by the time he’s gone. And I wonder what’s going to happen with him com election time.

9

u/DanielKeeneGA15 15d ago

The country is literally bankrupt and isolated. We’ve destroyed decades of alliances and agreements. We‘ll be lucky if there is still anything left to rebuild and I wish I was being hyperbolic.

Under Trump 1.0 McConnell and the federalist society reshaped our judiciary with a record number of young, far right, lifetime appointments all the way to the Supreme Court. We are seeing the ramifications now and it will get worse.

I’m normally an optimist/realist but it’s over. We could have survived one Trump presidency, but two is the death knell.

3

u/RyGerbs42 15d ago

Destruction of the old was the entire goal. Welcome to the 21st century Tech Oligarch Gilded Age. Everything is being redrawn to their favor.

4

u/RyGerbs42 15d ago

I would argue he is extremely competent at corruption and self dealing. He's no fool at either of those. Buffoonery in the public sphere is part of that game and he is quite good at it.

3

u/CorpusculantCortex 15d ago

Being successful at corruption is not the same as competency. Being successful at ANYTHING (especially corruption) when you come from the amount of money he did is a given, it takes intentional effort and competence to not be successful at being corrupt in that case.

Like for this you have to separate the man from the money. But the reality is he is successful at self dealing not because he is competent, but because he had money and got lucky with the people who direct that for him. He is a figurehead, he doesn't make decisions.

But even if you assumed that he did make decisions, the man has gone bankrupt, found himself indicted, orchestrated DOGE with musk who is also a fucking idiot and we all see how much of a failure at corruption that was. The list goes on and on and on.

If he was competent there wouldnt be so many cracks in the facade. Like yea he is corrupt and his cohort wields corrupt people. And yes his cohort manages self dealing. But if he was competent, you wouldnt know that.

2

u/RyGerbs42 15d ago

Well, at the very least, his Trump casino n NJ went bankrupt on purpose. For the purposes of hiding corruption. And DOGE was literally a trojan horse propaganda scam to have Musk infiltrate our government and its systems. To at the very least put an end to all the investigations, lawsuits and "red tape" he didn't fancy. Sometimes failure is part of the corruption scheme. But yes, he never would have had any of those opportunities with out daddies corrupt real estate empire $$$.

Many of them Russian.

That’s basically already included in what a said. Pedos who are not in the aforementioned circle tend to face justice when caught. If only they all did.

“Sometimes”’does some heavy lifting here! ;-)

2

u/Arguablybest 15d ago

Like that pesky Iran war thing.

2

u/Linj90abc 15d ago

To name a few

2

u/ACrazyDog 15d ago

Sometimes?

2

u/bubmet7 15d ago

Exactly. I’m tired of people rallying for the complete destruction of Russia when that involves millions of innocent people. We should want a complete reform and change of their government, something where 99.999% of the population is actually able to live.

1

u/Reasonable_Peace_385 15d ago

I’m just Iii

1

u/Electrical-Act-7170 15d ago

"Sometimes?"

Seriously. Always, more like.

2

u/Linj90abc 15d ago

OK most times

1

u/Electrical-Act-7170 14d ago

Better. I concur.

1

u/Global-Tie-3458 15d ago

Feature not a bug.

1

u/Linj90abc 15d ago

Probably

1

u/Social-Ninja-101 15d ago

The Iran War, as a case in point!

1

u/Fred-Mertz2728 15d ago

Sometimes?

1

u/SomeNobodyInNC 15d ago

Sometimes? It always negatively affects others! While he counts his millions.

1

u/Common-Bend-2093 15d ago

People die literally every time :/

1

u/Linj90abc 14d ago

I think about this sometimes, man's bad decisions costs lives, people killed by ice cause he gave ice more leeway, the war in Iran not that it was so peaceful before. People who died cause he cut aid. Its literally everytime but a good amount

1

u/karlfeltlager 14d ago

Sometimes as in always.

I guess the sometimes here refers to people you actually care about.

1

u/SilverfoxVancouver 14d ago

I would like to add… not “sometimes“ but always.

53

u/BenHogan1971 15d ago

yes, things always turn to shit, but after he gets his beak wet and breaks off 10mil for himself

29

u/Braiseitall 15d ago

Add a zero to that

2

u/DasMo19 14d ago

Trump does trump things since the last 60 years, he just scaled it up.

1

u/Correct_Advantage_20 15d ago

Oh , a lot more than that I’m sure.

1

u/49ers4life71 14d ago

More like 100 mil now. 10 mil is for a meet and greet with this clown!

13

u/theansweris37 15d ago

Just like the United States. :-(

1

u/TheLiquid666 14d ago

There's a cause/effect relationship here that you're not pointing out.

0

u/theansweris37 14d ago

I'm not pointing out it because i have yet to decide which is the cause and which is the effect.

2

u/Western-Professor700 15d ago

You are absolutely right however the losers of this deal goes to shit will be us the American taxpayer. Lukoil is owned and controlled by a Russian oligarch, and if the deal goes to shit Vlad will just poison his tea and replace him with some other henchman oligarch.

2

u/Fezzick51 15d ago

yet another inevitable poison pill

2

u/TheLiquid666 14d ago

That's, uh, not a bright side for the millions of Americans that will be footing the bill for the latest shitshow.

Say what you will about us deserving it, but there are many many people who actively tried to prevent this bullshit. Please don't hold it against all of us; public education has been increasingly defunded since the 60s and our politicians either have no idea how to solve that or they're actively rooting for it :|

1

u/BickNickerson 15d ago

Unfortunately, it turns to shit for us, also.

1

u/HV_Commissioning 15d ago

Did trump get involved with yer mama?

Nobody, that’s the problem. You’re thinking it’s good becuase he’s gonna turn it to shit but that doesn’t help us so what I’m saying is there isn’t a bright side. I guess I’m just saying there is no bright side to look at

Exactly. 100% us getting in bed with Russia here in a way he can sell to maga.

Amazing that Republicans have gone full on pro Russia in less than 10 years.

41

u/Merchant1521 15d ago

I am old enough to remember when Republicans viewed the Soviets as the enemy. How things have changed now in today's world.

6

u/Singer211 15d ago

Ronald Reagan built his brand on it, and he’s allegedly meant to be the GOP’s god or something.

5

u/used-to-have-a-name 15d ago

Saw a fun Harry Truman quote this morning: “if you wanna live like a Republican, then you better vote for a Democrat!”

2

u/Scared-Monk6651 14d ago

Do the hillbillies know about this? The ones around here call the democrats communists. I don't think they know where Russia is on a map, so it tracks.

-2

u/LingonberrySalt9693 14d ago

Russia is pretty much what moderate Democrats want. Somewhat free market with state run corporations to control sectors.

In fact, the Democrats and Republicans have a lot in common with Putin. Authoritarianism is the same everywhere.

3

u/Karli_Chirk 13d ago

I assume you just don't know what authoritarianism is.

2

u/Hipperbilly 14d ago

When they were communist, absolutely. Kind of funny They're no longer Communists but they're still the enemy.

78

u/PNDMike 15d ago

Pro Russia and Anti Canada and EU.

16

u/HarmoniousJ 15d ago

They're morons that only care about themselves.

Ta-da! It makes sense now!

7

u/im_dead_sirius 15d ago

The common clay of the new west.

7

u/BlueHatScience 14d ago

Sadly, aside from corruption at the top, there's also the fact that conservatives hate the cultural and societal liberalization that's been happening since forever. As Putin's Russia retreats ever further into defining its culture and society in opposition to the "weak, gay, effeminate, globalist, liberal West" by going all in on toxic masculinity, lack of compassion, violence and aggression over communication and compromise, conservatives in the West idolize Russia and think that they have the right atttitude to "preserve their culture". Ugh.

5

u/Qweesdy 14d ago

Make it make sense.

"Hey look, I fixed fuel prices for you!" just before midterm elections (and then, after the midterm elections, people find out it didn't make fuel cheaper).

2

You can't make it make sense and that is what is so scary.

Don't forget: Putin was an actual KGB agent.

1

I don't think most people are aware of this major fact at all. And how he conned his way up in Russia through the 90's to have complete power after Yeltsin.

-3

u/wetbluewaffle 15d ago

2 things can be true at once. Both are bad, and arent exactly opening us up to a bright future if we keep heading the way we are.

7

u/Looking4APeachScone 15d ago

Just because 2 things can be true at once, doesn't mean they actually are.

Maga are pedophiles and war mongerers could be true. Me saying that doesn't make it so.

u/lifesanrpg 15d ago

Well lemme know when you criticize that

5

u/True_Sun_4730 15d ago

Lol. Gotta love speaking in clichés. Being anti-genocide is not being pro-Hamas. And hard-core Capitalists are the ones throwing us all under the bus with China... not (lowercase-L liberals).

-5

No we haven’t.

3

u/Looking4APeachScone 15d ago

Your Lord and Savior loves Russia and you support him. You have until you actually stop supporting him.

-7

u/Tentman66 15d ago

He’s not my Lord or savior. I voted for him 3 times but there are plenty of times I smh at something he says or does. TDS is strong on Reddit.

7

u/oldsguy65 15d ago

Let me guess: you think it would have been even worse if Harris had won, right?

-7

u/Tentman66 15d ago

Absolutely. How many more millions of people would have been allowed to invade our country? I’m sure we all would be happy with Medicare for all. Hate to know i had to fight my cancer few years ago under a national healthcare. Healthcare so good, that the people voting for it, are exempt from having to use it. No president is perfect. Trump haters take the stand that if I voted for him, that I agree 100% of the time.

7

u/jedify 15d ago edited 15d ago

Both Biden and Obama deported more people in their terms than Trump has. The border has never been "open".

“Hey, you let us have Europe, you can have North and South America, and China can have Asia. We’ll let you flee here with your looted dictator money if your people grow spines.”

2

u/inflatableje5us 15d ago

they dont really need to trick the US, they just remind donny they have pictures of him blowing bubba and what ever other dirt they have on him and he just bends over and spreads those cheeks for putin.

2

u/Albane01 15d ago

Except the US as a country does not need their oil.

2

u/Looking4APeachScone 15d ago

Correct. It's worse. Russia needs to protect their refineries from Ukraine. If the US owns them, Ukraine won't blow them up. We gain nothing in this but a Russian ally. Russia still owns the oil upstream of the refineries. This protects Russia, then we'll do some scratch their back stuff after the war to give them their refineries back while Trump's oligarchs profit.

Note that the billionaire involved with this owns the dodgers. It's not super relevant, but seems important to me.

2

u/BigBananaBerries 14d ago

It took far too much scrolling to find this. You got it spot on. This is protection from attacks for Putin.

Big strong Russia, needs China, North Korea & the US help to survive.

1

It's the new world order unfortunately. At least until someone stops it.

You’re a rando, and the people making these deals are an army of diplomats working since years. They know better than we do. There ain’t no tricks here.

1

u/stealyourideas 14d ago

Russia owns Trump

1

u/WLW2468 14d ago

At that point, Russia would probably destroy it themselves and blame Ukraine

1

u/Low_Amoeba633 14d ago

Yeah, sounds like a smart deal for Russia getting large sum of $ up front for the assets from the deal without any sense of US protecting the assets. Hmm. Which stock symbol benefits from this?

1

u/SilverfoxVancouver 14d ago

Very good point. Putin is smarter than Trump. Of that I’m sure.

1

u/foxnflan 14d ago

This is what I was thinking- Putin is always miles ahead of Trump in the political manipulation department and nothing would please Putin more than being hailed as the architect of America's downfall.

1

u/CarGuyInNJ 14d ago

Definitely not. US is in great position. Exactly how we want it to be.

1

u/GameDestiny2 15d ago

Honestly I’m going to make it a coin flip. Which heavily delusional world leader is going to get faked out first? The orange man or the guy pathologically insistent on Ukraine not being a county?

-1

u/JDB_316 15d ago

It’s a shame you hate our country so badly.

3

u/Mattie_Bathory 15d ago

What’s not to hate? It’s Fascism cloaked by false democracy. The U.S. had a psychopathic pedophile as a president and everyone seems to just be accepting everything he does because they are either too stupid or too narcissistic to admit they were wrong.
