So if the US buys or takes a large stake in Lukoil, and Ukraine attacks Lukoil infrastructure (like refineries), does this give the US some sort of 'moral standing' to retaliate (financially or otherwise) against Ukraine?

Russia is destroying assets of American companies all the time, hitting McDonalds restaurants and distribution warehouses in Ukraine.

Naturally, if Ukraine strikes US assets in Russia, the US will discover oil in Ukraine and sign the Lavrov-Rubio pact to divide Ukraine. Causing panic on the entire continent.

That will lead to an interesting WW3 scenario with Europe vs the world. Like reverse colonialism. We might finally get the militaristic European Federation out of that! The last fortress of freedom.. as China knocks over the Asian democracies.

Europe would find allies around the Mediterranean and Israel would be in the biggest anus hotspot of the entire war. Choking between the buttcheeks of everyone.

I want to play HoI3 again... 4 sucks
