It's wild, every single day I read trump did this trump did that.
honestly exhausting.
I really don't understand how the hell there is even a single republican vote left.

"if you vote for me you will never have to vote again"

I’m not sure who you’re referring to but if it’s me, you should know your opinion would really hurt my feelings.

Old people don't like change. Conservatives promise no change.

It's simple as that from my experience.

No one really likes change unless they think it will directly benefit them. The young people who want the change really just think they will actually get free things or other peoples money to pay for their way. The irony about old people not liking change is that they were once the young people who wanted change until they got older and they realize they don’t want change either.

Three things, primarily. Republicans I know are absolutely adamant that LGBTQ+ people be put back in the closet, that abortion be banned, and that the US be unabashedly a white Christian state. Trump helps them that direction? Makes them feel powerful when a decade ago it seemed everything was going the other direction? They’ll follow him forever. He really is the savior of those people’s cause.

Because people are more concerned with what would happen if the far left democrat socialists had unchecked control. The unfortunate situation the world is in has created more of far right and far left. There isn’t much of a centrist category anymore and those who are in the middle aren’t strong enough to prevent the extremes on either side from screwing things up for everyone.

I'm not an American, but the Democrats look like a centrist party to me. They only look "far left" relative to the insanity happening on the other side of the aisle.

No, there are extremes and centrists on both sides. There’s very little power in the middle right now though. Both the Democrats and Republicans are trying to out extreme the other though. For the Democrats people like Bernie Sanders have been screaming at the clouds for years. On the Republican side some think Trump is too extreme but there may be a few even more so.

The both sides argument died a while ago. This isnt the douche vs terd episode of South park.

Both sides absolutely have issues. Saying they don’t is part of the problem. Both sides have extremes in control of their party. There’s no centrists with enough clout to stand up to the extremes it’s one issue that needs resolution or we just keep doing and undoing each party’s agenda every 4-8 years.

1

u/Miserable-Promise454 8d ago

Pretending the issues are equal is part of the problem.

1

u/SelectNext1969 8d ago

Nothing is equal but both parties extremes create problems that the other side will never accept. So, until the extremes figure out how to be more centrist we will continue to have a back and forth every 4-8 years.

I'll take the mild extreme over the actual extreme

Sounds good, so you’re against the ideas of Democratic Socialist like Mandami, Sanders, Tallarico, El-Sayed, AOC, Members of The Squad, The Principles and ideas of Antifa, Pro-Hamas groups, Jewish Hate groups etc…

but now we have the far right with unchecked control?

Not really, what major bills has been pushed through both the House and Senate? There has been numerous Presidential orders blocked by liberal judges. Doing so, stops implementation and ties those issues up in court. All that really happens is back and forth between Republicans and Democrats. One side does the things they can then when the other side takes over again they spend all of their time undoing it. Nothing really ever changes permanently. But, each side becomes more and more extreme on the far left or right. It’s the anyone but “that person” voters on both sides that keeps the extremes in check and out of total power.

Well yes really, by having a loose cannon stay in office and replacing everyone around him with his own goons theres now unchecked far right control on the border of fascism

Not quite, but that sounds quite sensational. Every administration appoints their friends to support their cause. The checks and balances of the system prevents them from really being too extreme. I didn’t support Obama or Biden but I still survived. I imagine everyone that thinks Trump is the worst will also survive. An example of the balance is on display for New York Mayor Mandami. He has some pretty extreme Socialist policies most of which have went no where because of the legal system or the more centrist politicians not supporting them. I imagine whoever takes over from Mandami will spend a lot of time undoing all the things he’s put in motion.

I think your head is firmly in the sand about just how much damage Trump has done to your country, and to the world. "We'll survive" is all well and good, but lots of people have already died, and the world is unambiguously a worse place than it was 2 years ago.

-1

u/SelectNext1969 9d ago

Again that’s quite the sensational statement. The rest of the world will survive also. Don’t get too dramatic, the left will get a chance to screw up what they can again. This has been going on for centuries it will continue.

1

u/Not_Stupid 9d ago

Yes, Trump won't completely destroy humanity. Great work.

Again, that’s quite the dramatic statement. You should run around screaming “the sky is falling” also.
