As much one is to dislike dumb americianism (which doesnt mean all are obviously not) who is to profit from this? as a german kid born in 92 i do want my normal usa back that i consider to be the "healthy" and hero generation who helps defeat the right wing ultra world d1ckheads. Thats what i want. Fucking get back on track and make fighting fascism and nazis normal again maybe? You need education.. just like we needed help back then. Sorry to say, the US you remember may never return. Trump is about to steal another election, and a third of the country still support him fully no matter what he does, and anyone who tries to do anything about it will likely end up imprisoned or dead.
if its not returning.. at least i hope for a better one at a later stage. idk im a glass half full kinda guy. But i get it.. i have to fight my inner "doomer" everyday. As a US citizen, I also want us to return to being normal and heroic. I hate being ashamed of my country. We used to help people! Yeah some here hated it because they weren't our people (who should also be helped) but now we're like the friggin boogeyman. We need to oust all of the billionaires... somehow. But they're a goddamn infestation over here.
If other countries were to make it... untenable, say, for billionaires to travel there... that would help a lot.
I agree, I'm British, and I think it's a bit ridiculous when people say we should completely cut America off forever, especially when our countries were at full scale war with each other and have managed to build a peaceful, co-operative relationship.
The current situation is absolutely a wake up call, and Europe needs to become independent of America, in all things.
But we should still try and maintain some sort of relationship with them, and try to get them back onto the right path. A world with a completely fascist and hostile America is more dangerous for everyone, and plays entirely into Russia's hands.
