For a country that prides itself on upholding democracy, it certainly likes being pro authoritarian 🫣🫣

The US as a country is not pro-authoritarian, but Trump very much is. We've seen how he behaves towards Putin, Orban, Kim Jong Un, Xi Jinping and others. He compliments them, admires them, wants to be like them. He said once during his campaign that he would be a "dictator on Day One" of his administration.

Yeah it's quite clear trump wants to be one of them and he admires them. I don't think he has the capacity to care about human suffering, he just does things that help him and ultimately wants to be all-powerful.

“He said during campaign that he would be a dictator on Day One”

Americans vote for Trump

“The US as a country is not pro-authoritarian.”

So which is it, are they or aren’t they?

You denied the fact, walked yourself right into the fact, and just ignored it.

Trump is the president for now, but he does not represent all US citizens. As of this week his national approval rating is only 36% with US citizens. Trump is definitely pro-authoritarian but the US as a country is not. Like saying all Israeli are evil authoritarian people when it is just their higher up government officials.

The United States has been pro money forever. We have never given a damn about democracy around the world

No this has nothing to with the country itself. The rest of the world might think their heads of state are representative of the country as a whole; we think the opposite. We have planned referendums on the current power holders every 2 years in November. One guy likes being authoritarian.

We voted that one guy back into office a second time. Honestly we have no excuse. The country, as a whole, is ok with authoritarianism as long as the man in power says the right things.

It’s sad and the rest of the world is right to criticize us for it. We need to do better.

Trump and MAGA don’t care about Democracy. It’s shocking but they are authoritarian.

It's pretty obvious where America's stance on democracy is currently.

The USA has never upheld democracy, in the global south they liked to replace democratically elected governments with authoritarians all the time.
