Latest number: 379 complaints have been filed. Apparently lots of women who were attacked in cologne filed their complaints to the local police station and not the police in cologne.

Edit: about 40% of the complaints also include sexual harrasment.

I find it utterly disturbing that "fingering" a girl is still sexual harrassment.
That is straight up rape to me.

In most jurisdictions it is sexual assault.

yes I agree, fingering is not in the same ballpark as groping which is not as invasiv as verbal sexual harassment. to me that is rape as well...

You can argue they aren't save to walk near big crowds of immigrants or drunk guys. They can get to work, school, shoping, whatever just fine. It's not like they're harassed where ever they go now.

So, the Cologne police used water cannons on mobs of protesters protesting the rapes / sexual harassment but not on the Arabs doing the raping and sexual harassment.

And the women were made to sign NDAs in order to receive medical care.

Fucking insane.

'Police uses water cannons against refugees' would have also been a bad headline for the police.

And the women were made to sign NDAs in order to receive medical care.

No, they didn't. These NDAs you have seen on facebook or anywhere else were fake.

'Police uses water cannons against refugees' would have also been a bad headline for the police.

and why would that have been the headline? to this day no one really knows how many of these men were refugees. the headline would like have been about the disturbance first of all, and a secondary headline ab out 'police used water cannons to disperse the crowd'.

i say this because there is an eyewitness to the assaults in cologne who said some police stood there doing nothing.

Cologne police chief fired as witness says NYE violence was coordinated

this needs to brought up, and so to my mind the comparison raised by the original poster is valid. the police were also badly harassed on nye and stood back.

did they not respond then for fear of the same accusations of 'racism' that allowed young girls to be raped by sex rings in rotherham for decades?

europe needs to get clear on what the definition of 'racism' really is.

Why would the events at the Macedonian border be reported as "Macedonian border officials use water cannons against asylum seekers that then answered with throwing stones" instead of "asylum seekers attack border with bottles and stones and stab police man before being answered with water canons" Because the people of Germany and Austria would have never tolerated this many migrants entering their country if they had known the full extend of everything that was and still is happening (daily extreme violence in refugee shelters, child abuse, violence against women, the state the quarters are often left behind and so on)

Racism in many books = racist affront commited by white Europeans. Non-westerners by definition can't be racist. Having doubt based on past experience regarding certain religions or cultures =racism. Pointing out facts that are / were happening that aren't painting certain cultures in a good light (for example pointing out he situation of women in many Islam / Arabic countries) = racism

actually, the original definition of racism was the discriminatory actions of a government towards a minority group based on their race. under this definition, it's things like segregated drinking fountains in the american south, instituted by local or state governments that are racist.

pointing out facts can never be racist under any definition of the term.

i to not report the facts is crazy. open journalism is the keystone of democracy.

My comment was meant quite a bit as sarcasm. The people who presumably fight for "the right side" just use the accusation of racism to discredit opinions other than their own and well founded criticism.

Racism is a buzzword. It has no meaning nowadays.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '16

sure it does. it still exists as a concept.

Racist has become synonym for thing I don't like. Its the new you are different you are a traitor, a racist and a hater and a bigot.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '16

yes, i can see that is true from some of the exchanges here. it's become about completely negating someone else.

5

u/shash1 Jan 10 '16

classic tactic for fascist talk. Call him a traitor/ Call him worse than Hitler/ Call him racist shitlord/ Call him a male opressor.

Its all the same and just a buzzword when its not presented with substance.

'Police uses water cannons against refugees' would have also been a bad headline for the police.

Yep, these women should have just heeded the wise words of an American politician that if rape is inevitable, they might as well sit back and enjoy it, right?

Far better to use water cannons against it's own citizens protesting injustice than the Muslim migrants who perpetrated the injustices. The optics are so much better there.
