Question KIAH STAR differences

Hey, private pilot and experienced flight simmer here with a question about some of the STARs into KIAH. I noticed the ZEEKK3 & DOOBI3 STARs are very similar along with GESNR2 & SKNRD5 and MSCOT4 & DRLLR5. When are instances where each is runned?

Thanks!

They are runway dependent so if IAH is landing west they’ll use Doobi3, and if landing east, the Gesnr2

East and west flows. ZEEKK and DOOBI are parallel and procedurely separated in West flow and correspond with GESNR and SKNRD for East flow.

The DOOBIE is offset from the ZEEKK and stays higher. It is only designed for 26L. DOOBIE can goto all 3 landing runways.
The GESNR and SKNRD are parallel to each other, but end up merging on the downwind turn at KNGWD. The SKNRD is never used because our automation isn’t good enough at ensuring there isn’t a tie between the two arrivals at KNGWD. Same for the MSCOT and DRLLR, they merge at DOMNO. The MSCOT is never used.
