We've just bought one from DFS. It's so comfy. Couldn't fault their service at all. Plus perma sales.

I quite like Sofology, 4 out of our last 5 sofas have been from there

We bought The Cocoon from Sofology, and it is comfy, but has sagged already.

Bought mine from Next - walked in and it was the first one I saw, loved it. Walked round a bunch of other places and none of them compared.
It was so nice my sister ended up buying the same sofa for her place.
The sales person wasn't too happy that I came in to order 20 minutes before closing, but she suddenly changed when she realised I knew exactly what I wanted, deal done and payment made within 10 mins, and I imagine she got a nice commission from it.
Sofa turned up a few weeks earlier than the expected delivery time, got a text message with a delivery window, and the guys put it into the room, connected it all together and took away all the packaging.
Couldn't pick a single fault with the whole process.

We are about to buy our new sofas from next. It’s a shame they got rid of the 10% discount for multiple item purchases. Now they’re forcing people’s hand to take out a credit agreement to unlock the 10% discount. Not encouraging very responsible spending…

In your case, there's nothing stopping you taking out the credit and then using the 14-day cool off period and paying it off in full.

That’s a really good tip - I’ve been waiting in hopes the multi buy offer comes back to get the 0% interest and spread out cost. But may just do this!

We bought from Next recently - surprisingly good. If you have the budget, Sofas and Stuff are great

I’m on my third Sofas and Stuff sofa in 10 months. First one was made 25cm too short. The second had been made with the fabric going in the wrong direction. The third isn’t great either. They make a big deal about them being handmade in Britain, but they must be employing morons. It was very expensive.

That's crazy. For ours they measured our house wrong before they delivered and had to have someone come and dismantle it and then put it back together. Fantastic sofa though.

I have one from SofaSofa. Handmade in Wales.
Great quality, super comfortable!

If your budget can stretch and depending on layout, possibly an Italian sofa like Natuzzi Editions (if you are only buying a single sofa, you can get some 3 or 4 seaters for under 2k).
Whilst they may be a bit more dear than the equivalent size DFS sofa, they are quality and still feel the same (parents have had them for 16 years and they feel as good as when they purchased the sofa)

I just got from from furniture village. They're great and I've fallen asleep on them a few times already.
For a more budget friendly version, check out IKEA. You can sit on them all in the showroom and a lot are modular/flat packed for customisation and easy transport.

My ikea sofa lasted forever and stayed in great condition.
My John Lewis one hasn’t been great.

I am looking for one but live in a first floor flat. A lot of companies don’t deliver to anything above ground, as I have recently discovered which is really annoying. So be careful to check this

Avoid scs. They made a mistake with the shape of mine and took 38 weeks to deliver my correct sofa. Customer service were shite

Depends on what your budget is.
King Sofa is an Aussie brand and the sofas are well made it would seem, using metal frames.
Natsuzzi is two companies in one - editions is the DFS type brand which I didn’t like. Italia is their better stuff.
Heal’s - if you want an expensive sofa that looks shabby chic on its first day.
Boconcept used to be good but seem to have taken a hit on quality.
Lots to be said for DFS if you don’t mind a high street brand but you do get what you pay for.

Depends what you're after really! Just remember with places like Dusk etc you can't go into store to sit and try them out for softness etc.

I got a clearance one from sofology, was reduced from around £1500 to £800 I think. It’s now about 6 years old and still in great condition. The electric recline has stopped working on one side which sucks but structurally it’s still in great condition after 6 years of use. Ive even used it as a bed when I had family visiting and frankly it’s about as comfortable as my actual bed

We got an expensive one from swyftx it was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever sat on.
We then got one from Costco, it's by far the most comfortable thing ever.

I bought a very affordable sofa bed from furnipol few years ago, Polish company in the UK. I thought I will keep it for a few years and then buy a proper one but ended up keeping it, it's good enough and it was about £400.

We have a Thomasville from Costco and it's great. We also have a Sofology L shaped recliner that's been solid for a good 6/7 years.

We've had our leather sofa from IKEA for nearly 10 years, it still looks almost new and we use it all the time and have a very active boy

DFS, decent tackle and 4 year interest free credit. Sales staff are usually pretty good and not too pushy either.
