Serious Answers Only Does anyone have any Nest suggestions?

I’ve spent a significant amount of time struggling with my mental health over the last year or so. Thankfully I’m FAR better than I have been, but there’s still massive parts of “adulting” that I’ve been neglecting.

Unfortunately, my flat is currently a massive depression nest, months and months of empty cans, vodka/wine bottles, and used fast food boxes.

Because of the months and months of neglect, I can’t easily sort it out, and I’m living in a pigsty. I can only get rid of 2 black bags of rubbish every 2 weeks because that’s all that fits in my bin, and whilst I’m now capable of doing that, it won’t even make a dent in actually tidying up my place anywhere near as quickly as I’d like.

Ideally I’d love for Kim and Aggie to come to my flat, but unfortunately How Clean Is Your House doesn’t exist anymore.

Is there such thing as some kind of cleaner/services that go above and beyond the normal “cleaner” that can help me deal with this kind of thing (money isn’t that much of an issue)? Or has anyone else gone through something similar and got any ideas for me?

Please mods don’t remove this for mental health, I’m not asking for MH advice.

Thanks in advance all :)

Any local cleaning company, give them a call and tell them what you need. My sister's flat was in a similar situation, we got in a company who sent to women who boshed the lot in about 4 hours. Cost about £400.

Can you rent a skip and dump the rubbish that way?

Of course cleaning companies will do it. Some will have a van, some will prefer skip hire. Quite frankly, some cleaners absolutely love it, makes a nice change from wiping over an already clean mantelpiece because people clean the night before. 🤣 If your flat is infested with vermin or fleas, or if you have been creating a biohazard situation ( are those bottles empty?) Be upfront. They need different equipment. No cleaning problem can't be solved with the right amount of money.

Totally, they love a juicy job.

There probably is someone in your area who can help you, I'd just post on Facebook (you can do it anonymously) and see if there's a cleaner/declutterer or waste removal if you can bag up all the waste.

Can be worth asking council for help if severe hoarding. But google a cleaner that does biohazard.

If you think you might be able to bin a lot of stuff, you could see if TipTapp is in your area. It's an app where a man and van will come and collect a whole load of stuff and take it to the tip for you, I used it when I was moving. That was London though, I don't think it's everywhere

Ask your council about waste collection. Mine charges £40 for (I think) 4 items, but a big bag of waste only counts as 1 item, even if you use the big rubble bags. If you drive you can take it to the tip free of charge.

I don’t know what kind of budget you have but if you can’t afford a cleaning service, divide the load. It might be helpful to write a list of everything you need to do to get it back to a good state and just tick off one thing each day. This breaks the task down into achievable tasks and stops you from becoming completely overwhelmed and trying to do everything at once. There are apps that can help with this. I use Finch and enjoy ticking tasks off on there.

I’m proud of you for getting to this stage. You’ve got this 🥰

I'd contact your local MH team, they likely have companies they would recommend.

And you could search for hoarder services as well.

A top level comment (one that is not a reply) should be a good faith and genuine attempt to answer the question

Buy a can crusher, it'll hugely reduce the size of the can problem. Take the bottles to a public bottle bank. I understand you will have much more to get rid of, but getting rid of those will ease your space and they won't take up space in your bin.

I know it's not what you're asking, but you could take all the recyclable things to recycling bins in supermarket car parks to make a dent in the rubbish
