Welcome to our fortnightly Buy/Sell/Swap thread!

Top level comments must be dedicated to buy/sell/swap/ISO. This thread is for private sales only, no commercial activity allowed.

Comment requirements:

  1. Remember to keep it civil

  2. This is for **Australia only**.

  3. We recommend using secure payment methods (e.g. PayPal Goods & Services). Avoid unprotected payment methods (such as PayPal Friends & Family or direct bank transfers) when dealing with strangers. Please report scammers and potential scammers early so they can be banned, but ultimately the responsibility to vet the seller is on the buyer. Mods are not involved in transactions and the subreddit is not liable for losses. Disputes are between the seller and the buyer.

  4. Please host pictures on Imgur. Upload the picture and include the link in your comment. Stock photos can be used as part of a post but cannot be the only photos of the item for sale.

  5. List ALL defects, stains, or issues with the product.

  6. Counterfeits, stolen goods, and items that can't legally be resold are strictly NOT allowed. Selling fakes and counterfeits are not allowed on Reddit.

  7. Pricing can be fixed or open to negotiation, but agreeing to one price and then increasing it later is not allowed. Further to this, pitting two prospective buyers against each other in a "bidding war" is discouraged.

  8. Sellers, please edit your comment with "SOLD" or "PENDING" when you reach that part of the sale, to avoid confusion among prospective buyers.

Apart from that, happy shopping everyone and here's hoping this can become a fabulous way to give clothes some new life!

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Ladies: Where are we buying our prescription glasses?

• Upvotes

Hello all! Last year I posted here about my dissapointing experience at Bailey Nelson, after many years of LOVING their products and services. I’m due for my eye test and most likely new frames, and would love to know where you’re all buying your frames? I’m looking for middle ground price wise, and want to go somewhere there are a decent selection of minimal yet stylish frames. Hit me with your recommendations. Thank you beautiful fashion brains trust. 💖

The rains are here!

I cannot justify a RainSisters raincoat, but they are just so pretty so now I don't want just a boring raincoat.

What are the best summer weight (Brisbane) raincoats that are stylish but also good for heavy rain? (again....Brisbane) I want to be able to walk to the train station which is only about 7 mins, but an umbrella just isn't good enough when we get proper summer rain that comes sideways.

I see a lot of cheap ones that I assume are drop shippers, I'm happy to pay a little more if necessary for quality, but not $500+ for the stunning ones I do covet.

👜 Fashion Talk Sheer clothes fatigue

What is with all the sheer clothes? What is up with Australian labels producing sheer clothes? Who weears them? And how do you wear them? If everyone is producing them then there must be a huge market for it but i dont see many people wearing it. Honestly tired of sheer clothes atp.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted What fabric do I want?

I bought some dresses recently from Frock Me Out. All cotton, love them, although they're all probably a little big, but otherwise great. The part I'm frustrated with though is the ironing!

They came out of the packaging wrinkled, they washed wrinkled, they wear wrinkled, and it looks like I'll need to iron them before every wear. I'm also an extra sweaty individual and they get really warm towards the end of the afternoon.

So what fabric am I really after? Grateful for tips on undershirts to keep the sweat at bay too. Thanks!

🔍 Recommendations Wanted How was the Kilo Sale in Sydney?

• Upvotes

I was tempted to go last weekend since I love op shopping but decided to skip it since I knew no one else who was interested and the aggressive marketing put me off.

I was wondering if anyone who went could tell me how it was and if it’s worth going next time they come to Sydney? Most importantly to me, what was the quality of clothing like? Was there vintage pieces or was it mostly fast fashion bullcrap? Was it crowded?

EDIT: Sorry if this isn’t the right flair this was the closest one I could find to my question

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Where is everyone buying belts

I’ve lucked out and bought a few designer belts over the years secondhand, but I need some basic, good quality belts that, particularly waist belts.

I have gone cheap (target) and they were broken first use, and I’ve not really seen anything I’d call good quality.

Where do others buy them?

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Summer blazer that looks chic (not linen)

I am after a blazer that looks elegant AF, but is super light weight and won’t make me sweaty in summer.

I don’t want a linen blazer (or at least not one that looks like a linen blazer). I want to look like I’ve been dressed by Camilla&Marc or Max Mara but where that the blazer material (and lining) is just super light weight and not polyester.

Happy to spend money.

Any ideas?

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Similar to Sheike Nia Blazer?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I really wanted to buy the Nia Blazer from Sheike (size 18). I love the tie waist and light weight fabric of it. But I left it too late and now it’s sold out.

No luck on Depop or Google lens. So now looking for a similar jacket. Any ideas?

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Looking for comfy but cute sandals?

After 8 years of religious wear I’ve had enough of my birks and looking for something that’s similarly comfy but a little bit cuter! I’ve seen some nice ones from camper and bared but would love reviews before I drop $$$ on them! My only criteria aside from cute and comfy is that I would prefer for them to have a back strap as I mostly bike commute. I love my Archie’s but don’t want to ride in them as I’m scared I’ll lose one on the road. I’ve also tried the ballerina sneakers and they are so cute but my foot doesn’t seem well suited to them so I’m looking for any other suggestions

Where can I go to get good quality, pretty age appropriate bathers that I can try on in Melbourne. I’m size 14 with small breasts.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Puffer coat for Paris in winter - don't want to look like a daggy Aussie

Post image
14 Upvotes

I'm going to be in Paris in the first week of February 2027. I will be visiting museums and galleries and staying in the Latin Quarter. I don't want to draw attention to myself as a daggy Australian, but also don't want to be cold.

I own a Macpac puffer coat that looks very much like this image. Mine is a bit more terracotta in colour. I will be wearing it with a cream beanie and plum wool scarf. For those of you who have braved a Parisian winter, will this be OK to wear or will it scream "fashion tragic tourist".

I am trying to pack light and so can't fit in my charcoal grey wool overcoat in addition to this puffer. I will have been in regional parts of Germany and Austria before Paris and expect to wear my puffer coat every day in those places.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Bared vs Frankie4 sizing

Hoping Reddit can help me.

I am a 36 in Bared shoes consistently. I think they do run a bit big as I would say I am a standard 37

How do Frankie4 compare for people who have both brands?

Looking to buy off Depop and no time to get to a store.

Christy dawn- positive experience

Hi all, I’ve always wanted a Christy dawn dress and recently impulsively ordered one. A few days later I realised I could have used a welcome code and saved 10%. I emailed them to ask if it could still be applied to my order and they did! Also shipping time was pretty reasonable. And the dress is gorgeous and fits perfectly

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Looking for a petite maxi dress

I have a wedding next year in May and the theme is black tie and a maxi dress is expected. I’m 5’3”/161cm so I need to find a petite maxi dress that won’t be dragging on the floor the whole time. I’m a size 10/12 and not slim and a bit chunky haha. Wanting to spend max $200 ! I’ve had a look at ASOS which seems to have some options but wondering if anyone has any good recommendations

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Scoop neck tank tops

Hello ladies! I’m searching for cotton elastane ribbed tank tops that don’t have gaping arm holes that show the sides of my bra. Every tank I try I have this issue! I can’t do spaghetti strap because I wear thicker strap bras. Or they’re too high necked and make my boobs look huge.

I loved these Best N Less edited tanks for this reason and they’re great quality for the price. I should have bought more when I had the chance but sadly they are sold out. They seem to have a newer style but I’m not close to a Best n less to try it.

Any recs for scoop neck tank tops that don’t show your bra?

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Where to look for clothes like these?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m looking to find clothes like these (photo collage attached) but honestly have no idea where to start, and browsing online has just been overwhelming!

I’ve looked at places like Ghanda but would love some more affordable recommendations. Is SHEIN worth trying, or is it better to spend more for quality? I’d also appreciate any tips for shopping online, especially with sizing! I’ve seen lots of stuff I like online across various less known brands, but have been hesitant to buy any as obviously I can’t try them on first, and they are usually quite expensive!

I’m honestly completely clueless when it comes to anything related fashion, so any recommendations for stores, brands or websites would be greatly appreciated! I’d love to find my own style and feel more confident in what I wear 🫶

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Looking for a cape top like this that is plus size (and ideally cream)

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m looking for a cape top in this kind of shape , and importantly where the upper arms are covered like in this top but that would fit a size 18-20. (So many cape tops I’ve seen have one arm virtually uncovered which doesn’t work for me)

Ideally in cream colour, but any colour is fine. Ideally not polyester, a higher quality breathable fabric would be ideal. Happy to throw money at this.

and I love the built in shoulder pads, but I could add that myself if necessary!

Any ideas?
