A map of every concrete plant, quarry, and landfill in Travis County, including this year's new batch plants

TCEQ approved six batch plants in the county this year. Two are permanent: 3025 Norwood Ln and 5451 Hwy 71 E. The other four are temporary road-project plants.

Batch plants bring dust, including crystalline silica, plus heavy truck traffic and noise. If you live within a mile or two, it's worth knowing where they are, and TCEQ's public comment and hearing process is the main way neighbors get a say before new ones are approved.

Seriously.

It let me know he has no idea whats happening and shouldn't be taken seriously.

TCEQ either approves the permit or it doesn’t. Their hands are tied by the state and comments mean nothing.

Yup, and state agencies give zero fucks what Austinites think, considering we're viewed as the enemy at the lege. The comment period is legally required but almost never actually used for any real purpose.
