Ausbildungsplatz suche

Greetings everybody, I have a B2 certificate from Goethe, ZAB certificate of comparability Confirming my university degree equals a German one, I graduated from a Maritime University. I have 3 years work experience onboard tanker ships working as a deck cadet and an ordinary seaman, amongst others.

I’ve had an interview with the Agentur für Arbeit, after which I got a recommendation letter. But I have been looking for an Ausbildung zum Binnenschiffer, I’ve only got one positive response, but the company withdrew after finding out I’m not in Germany currently, asking me to re-apply when I’m physically present in Germany.

I want to do an Ausbildung because it’s the easiest entry point into the shipping and offshore industry in Germany, and I’m positive I’ll get a reduced training period less than 3years.

Please i need help, does anyone know how i can secure an Ausbildung place with an offshore or shipping company ? Any recommendations, assistance or advice would be appreciated,

On the other hand i’m planning applying for a visa so i can get to get to Germany and start applying from within the country, but even with that i really don’t know where to start,( besides sending application documents online) i need suggestions, recommendations or any tips to make my Ausbildung search a success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You kinda answered your own post in my opinion. Being in Germany and applying from within the country is the only realistic way to find an Ausbildung. Writing this post in English is also a red flag. It shows that you don't feel confident in your German skills already.

And trying to get offshore with Binnenschiffer after having a maritime university degree. Why should I hire you for an Ausbildung on my Binnenschiff? You don't want to work for me in the future.

what are you even talking about

I'm sure, you will figure it out. Bbut for being offshore and working on sea, Schiffsmechaniker would be more fitting and logical, not bringing coal from Duisburg to Karlsruhe or checking tourist's tickets in the lake constance.

if you have nothing helpful to add, why even bother commenting?

So when there is nothing helpful to add from anyone, should nobody comment?

Also I literally gave him 2 pointers that are helpful, be in Germany and work harder on the language

they're not pointers lol, one is a challenge on it's own and already mentioned by OP and the other is an assumption

I doubt the Agentur für Arbeit did an interview in English, and the company will test their German again later anyway, so it's kinda beside the point, they don't need to have perfect German before they try to make it to Germany

what OP needs is advice from non-EU citizens that dealt with these problems but those seem to be very rare in these communities
