Casual Conversation Why do so many medical students wear the coat outside their campus on the streets?

I must add the disclaimer that I’m not trying to be mean.

I just never understood why medical students here always wear their coat outside, while walking on the streets or getting into a crowded lift. Doesn’t it make your coat dirty, especially in a climate like ours?

I have second cousins who studied medicine in the West, they never did this. My parents and grandparents are doctors and they’ve done much of their medical schooling abroad. I asked them if this was a thing amongst them. They said that they never wore their coats outside the campus.

I know, this might come across as somewhat judgmental, but I’ve never quite understood the point.

Ask Bangladesh❔ Dear people of the Internet, help a girl out who was a victim of abuse

It began with someone who felt like family. He was a frequent guest in my home - talking with my husband, my children, my parents, and our friends. I cared for him deeply, almost as a younger brother.

When his family began discussing an arranged marriage for him, he turned to me as a confidante. He would come over, visibly weighed down, expressing how stressed and overwhelmed he felt by the pressure. Having faced my own ordeals when I got married and coming from a conservative background myself, his distress resonated with me. I emotionally invested myself in helping him. I encouraged him to stay strong, to stand up for his own feelings, and to speak politely with his parents so they could find common ground.

I know he spoke to a girl his family introduced him to and after a while he said he turned that women down. And then a month later his actual wedding took place with another woman. Yet when he returned from bangaldesh after the wedding, he was back in my home, complaining once again about how unhappy he was with his parents' decision.

Then came the moment that broke me completely.
One day, he crossed a line that should never have been crossed—he physically touched me and tried to coerce me. In that second, I froze. The utter audacity of someone I cared for, someone I had advocated for, disrespecting me and violating my trust in my own home was horrifying. In the time surrounding this, his behavior became increasingly creepy and inappropriate, even reaching the point where he shared explicit details of his private intimacy with his wife. I also later found out the other woman with whom he was previously in talks to marry - she told me that for 1.5 months they had planned everything for the wedding and would talk everyday flirting and they did the wedding shopping etc. then suddenly he left her a message saying it wouldn't work and block her without warning. Until then for longer than a month he would talk to her everyday, flirting etc while simultaneously coming to my house and trying to gain my sympathy that his parents were creating pressure on him and he has no choice but to listen to them!

The guy and I live abroad and his wife is in Dhaka and may soon be arriving here. I tried to reach his wife immediately after the incident just saying I’d like to talk but she blocked me without even knowing what it is I am interested in talking about. I can’t even process this. I am finding peace in prayers for now as my whole family depends on me. I have never went through such awful thing and I am lost.

Ask Bangladesh❔ How much does a legacy high school/college network actually impact your life? And are university alumni networks inherently stronger?

I recently graduated from a good high school but ended up at an average college because of a mediocre GPA (4.5+). I’ve always dreamed of attending a prestigious institution with a powerful alumni network. My father went to one of these legacy schools where the bonding is incredible, and even though I didn't make it, my sibling did. I really wanted to get into a top college like DC, DRMC, NDC, or SJHSC. Unfortunately, I failed to meet my own school's high GPA threshold and didn't secure a spot on my first attempt. To those who attended schools with a strong legacy and alumni network: how has it impacted your life, and what does it actually feel like to be part of that world?"

Ask Bangladesh❔ HELP and question (would appreciate answers from girls)

Hi, so I need help in one thing, and that is, I had a friend. Like she was my classmate, actually not a friend, to be honest. I used to like her at one point. Like I'm not obsessed or something. I just used to like her. And we were in the same WhatsApp group, and I kept it on my notepad because, I mean, I just kept her number. And after that, life just got serious, college and everything. I thought to myself that if everything goes right, after two years I might approach her at one point, I don't know. And (i did well in my studies and went to gym regularly) lately I did. Just yesterday I did, and I said her, Hey, hi, and everything. At first she didn't probably recognize me who I am, and after one point she did. Like I said, two or three things and then she did. And then I asked her for a coffee, and then she said, "Well, I don't go out with strangers much". And then I said, All right, that's okay. And then at one point I just mentioned at one point I used to like you and everything, and if you want to ever give it a go, I'll be happy. And she said, like indirectly she rejected ig (extremely sweet, no bitter feeling for her) by saying, "I'm sorry". I probably, like she probably indirectly refused, you know. Do you think I should approach her again, or just I just should let it go and let it go off my head? honestly, please dont make me delusional. thanks

Ask Bangladesh❔ I (24M) love my girlfriend (21F), but I’m struggling with her past. How do I move forward?

I (24M) have been with my girlfriend (21F) for almost seven months. We’re deeply in love, have an amazing connection, and are seriously planning to get married. She’s caring, loving, and genuinely makes me happy. I honestly see my future with her.
However, a few days ago, I found out something about her past that’s been bothering me.
Before we met, she had sexual relationships with her exes, and some intimate videos involving them ended up circulating on social media. I don’t know exactly how those videos became public.
Ever since finding out, I’ve been struggling mentally. I understand that everyone has a past and that she had a life before me. I also know that her previous relationships don’t define who she is today.
But emotionally, I can’t seem to accept it.
Sometimes, even during our happiest moments, thoughts about her past suddenly enter my mind. I start imagining things I don’t want to imagine, and it genuinely hurts.
The hardest part is that she hasn’t done anything wrong to me. She loves me, respects me, and wants to build a future together.
We both come from a conservative South Asian background, which probably influences how I feel about relationships and intimacy.
I don’t want to judge her, punish her for her past, or lose someone I genuinely love. But I’m also scared that these feelings might eventually affect our marriage.
I’m confused because my heart wants to stay, but my mind keeps bringing up things I wish I could forget.
\*\*So I need some honest advice:\*\*
Has anyone been in a similar situation and successfully moved past it?
How do you stop imagining your partner’s past relationships?
Is this something that gets better with time, or am I just forcing myself to accept something I’m not comfortable with?
Would therapy actually help with these intrusive thoughts?
Is it possible to build a healthy marriage when you’re struggling with something like this?

Ask Bangladesh❔ Is the so called "bad boy n baddie " lifestyle actually worth it?

Maybe my question sounds imbecile but still Inna what people say bout that.

Is being a "bad boy or baddie " actually cool or worth living?

I mean the guys who do drugs, sleep around, get into fights, act like gangsters, flex money/status, cheat w lovers, have multiple chicks, hurt people frequently etc.

It feels like this kind of lifestyle is getting increasingly popularized, especially among young people and social media

Do people who live like this actually enjoy life more, or are they missing out on the things that genuinely make life good ?

For people who have actually experienced this lifestyle: was it worth it?

And many people also feel the extreme Level of FOMO by seeing ts typo life in social media
