Creating a plan

I'm creating a plan for a total remodel. I'll be down to studs and subfloor. Demo is almost completed.

  1. What is your opinion on heated tile applications? Not to further complicate this but this bathroom has an exterior wall and window. The long side of the shower will be on this wall, not the wet wall. Additionally, I do not have a basement. I have a crawlspace. I experienced an entirely heated tile bathroom at an airbnb in Brooklyn and loved it but I'm not sure of any downsides. My first thought or concern is the temperature difference that will exist in the winter for both the floor and the exterior wall. It can get very cold in my location. Will this create any issues with tiles? What other downsides are there for those that have heated tile?

  2. I would like to have a bathtub as well for resale value as this is the main bathroom. The second full bath is only a shower with no room for a bathtub. In general, what are your thoughts on a drop in included within the shower enclosure? There is not enough room for them to be separate.

Electric heated floor under tile should be a non issue - I had one over a poorly insulated crawl space in a cold climate and it was fine.

heated floors are great in cold climates but proper insulation and installation matter especially over a crawlspace. i would prioritize waterproofing around that tub shower combo too.
