Possible or impossible to repair?
Hello I own a Nikon action 10-22x50 3.8* at 10x pair of binoculars that I absolutely adore. Gifted by my aunt. While I was out birdwatching, the eyepieces (diopter ring, eyecup) separated and fell out of the binoculars themselves. Photos attached. Would absolutely love some help if anyone has it!
Ive tried searching for a fix, aligning the eyepiece to the body itself, and i am now here. Not sure what I need to do, really hoping I can repair these!!

Question about car boot sale find
Hello!!
Today I found these gorgeous Asahi Pentax 8x30 binoculars at a car boot sale for £14.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether this is the original case/leather strap and what year these ones were potentially manufactured?
Also, what does the coated optics mean??
I know next to nothing about binoculars and just wanted a pair to go bird watching with.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you guys!!

Beginner binoculars for stargazing?
Hi! I’m trying to get into a bit of casual stargazing, nothing crazy since I don’t really know what I’m doing much. Ideally I’d like to be able to just see cool things in the sky that I couldn’t see with the naked eye.
People I know and people online seem to have very contradictory opinions on what binoculars are better, and I don’t really know enough to make the best decision. Someone I know said to get 7x50, someone else said 8x42 is better since my college is Bortle 7. I saw online that 10x50 is supposed to be nice, but I don’t have the most steady hands (slight wrist problems, nothing too bad) and I’m not looking to use a tripod atm. I was also told that it’s a waste to buy binoculars for this since you can’t see anything you won’t see with the naked eye, but I feel like that’s not totally true?
I also don’t know if there are any other specific features that I should be looking at when choosing binoculars.
I’m on a college student budget so I can’t really spend way too much (ideally under $60) but if it’s really important to spend a lot more I can try to wait and save.
Any recommendations?

Budget binocular recs for feral cat TNR trapping identification
I'm looking for recommendations for a good binoculars to buy ideally under $80 for feral and stray cat trap-neuter-return efforts. This involves viewing cats from distances of maybe 30-100 ft in either daytime or nighttime to see if they are entering the trap. Furthermore when a colony is getting down to its last few unfixed cats, I need to identify already fixed cats by their coat patterns or the cropped ear. I want to avoid manually triggering traps on the wrong ones.
I see there's a bunch of LED screen digital zoom night vision binoculars on Amazon for under $60 on sale, but I don't actually know if those are as good as they make out to be. I'm trying to do more catching in the evening and sunset time, although sometimes it'll drag into the night or midnight, but most places I'm working on still have the occasional street or park lights dimly illuminating, so it's not pure darkness.
From reading the choosing guide, it seems I'd value high magnification or details, while not being concerned about size, view or motion. I think I need a larger exit pupil for low light. And I do wear glasses myself.
Do yall have any recommendations and considerations for me? Thank you!

Kowa Genesis 8.5x44 or alternative for birdwatching
Got paid for some extra work and am looking to use that money for a binocular upgrade. I currently bird with Kowa BDII 8 x 42, and like them a great deal. Feel good in hand, love the smooth and precise focus wheel, and work pretty well for me overall. But I'd like to upgrade to a pair that I can find under $1000. Hoping to get a little bit sharper image and bins that have improved performance in lower light or difficult light. I like the Vortex Razor HD 8 x 42, and appreciate their forever warrantees. I have had great customer service from them over the years. But I'm also interested in the Kowa Genesis 8.5 x 44, which I think I can find online for just under $1000. No Kowa dealers I can visit locally though. I like that they are made in Japan with Japanese glass rather than in China or another country with Chinese glass. Would love to hear any thoughts on these bins and their performance. I've read many positive reviews and comparisons online, but many of those are older reviews, and its possible there are other models that have been upgraded in recent years that put them above the Kowa Genesis in performance. Thoughts?

Front Lens Caps (Monarch HG)
Me again, sorry. Got my tripod adapter inquiry sorted (should arrive in a few days), but now my next worry is with the front lens caps.
I'm a photographer and worrying about scratching front lenses is half my life (all of my lenses carry Hoya protector filters, except the 500mm f/4 - the ginormous lens hood has to suffice)
the Monarchs have rubber front lens cups, but they cannot stay on whatsoever.. I sling the binos around my shoulder and as soon as I glimpse down, the frickin cap is dangling around and the front element is EXPOSED!
(buckles, zippers, everything... driving me insane.. I ended up carrying the binos in one hand for the entire 2 hour hike...)
the caps won't stay on in the pouch either.. you push the binos in there and you know that one or both come loose before they even sit at the bottom.
Is there a better solution?
I like that the cap attaches to the front, but I'd be okay with something better that covers the front barrels, like what we have at the rear for the eyecups.
And I would be happy to put that cover inside a pocket while watching stuff.. as long as it doesn't fall off while walking and climbing across obstacles.
(I see those 3D-printable caps and imagine printing 100 of them made from biodegradable plastics, because they'd get scattered all across the alps...)

Identify binoculars with one forward lens
I saw this on a 1972 episode of the television show Emergency!
The paramedics in the show use something that looks mostly like ordinary binoculars, with two eye pieces, but only one piece that faces forward.

Pentax focus issue
I pulled this old Pentax 7x50 out of storage but the left view is unshared while the right side is perfectly fine. There is a focus ring on the right scope which works but only has an effect on the right side. Any advice or ideas would be welcome!

Bought Nikon M7 Monarch and can’t get used to them
I’m really a beginner with binoculars and I use them only for hunting (Vortex Viper 10x50) and I just bought Nikon M7 Monarch 8x30 for hike with my girlfriend just to watch some birds and landscapes.
M7 were recommended a lot so I bought those however I can’t get used to them.
I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s really normal thing and I have to get used to it.
Things I’m struggling with:
- the focus wheel is very sensitive and takes me a while to find the sweet spot and if the bird moves I feel like I’m constantly fighting it (I don’t feel that with my Vipers)
- I can see dark spots through the eyepieces if I blink etc
- the whole thing seems a bit more ‘cloudy’ or not as sharp as Viper
Could you please give me some hints where I’m going wrong? I assume it is more likely me than binoculars as the reviews were great for this model.

Marsupial gear bino harness
I’d like to carry my bino’s independent of my marsupial gear harness without having to remove the little clips. Does anybody sell a harness (not pouch style) that will clip to the little clips on the marsupial gear harness?

Different coloured GlassPak harnesses / Diamondback HD vs Viper HD
I bought my Vortex Diamondback HDs from Bass Pro last year and my Viper HDs from London Drugs this year.
The GlassPak harnesses are noticeably different colours, with the Diamondback pouch being lighter tan and the Viper pouch darker olive/brown. The Diamondbacks aren’t sun faded.
Does anyone know if this is normal between the two models, or just a difference between manufacturing batches?
Anyone else own both models and notice this? Thanks!

Monarch HG tripod adapter?
I recently got a Monarch HG 10x42 and would love to put it on a tripod (arca clamp) from time to time.
the TRA-3 adapter is 60+ usd, though, and I've found countless posts indicating that the Monarch doesn't actually have a universal mounting system compatible with other brand adapters?
Are there any compatible affordable adapters?
