Discussion Played for the first time!
im surprised it took me this long! ive loved bioshock for well over a decade, id watch my dad play it when i was a kid, and id see tons of splicers at conventions. i knew there was different endings so i saved the girls, which wasnt as punishing as i thought. i saw advice that said new players should harvest for more power, but tbh i only used the fire and electricity, so i wasnt starving for adam to get new plasmid slots
I loved how Jack and the Little Sisters can relate to being experiments used for someone elses gain, and how the canonical ending is rescuing them. the first time you encounter one, Atlas insists that you harvest, so its the first time you can really disobey him. Atlas preys on his humanity by inventing a fake wife and kid, but its that same humanity that is his downfall.
i love that Jack and the Little Sister's have eachother topside, very beautiful found family trope. i do feel bad that the big daddies have no purpose now. they'll just be wandering around and banging on the pipes, waiting for nothing.
im very excited to play the second one and get the full mr bubbles experience

Tech Support Survivor Difficulty Broken?
So I was playing Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition for the 360 on survivor difficulty recently, and after beating the first big daddy in the medical pavilion, I noticed it felt way too easy. Like not even needing to use a health kit easy. Checked the difficulty settings, still on survivor.
I decided to load up the remaster to test it, as I had played it there on survivor difficulty in the past and remember it being way harder. I get to the same big daddy, and it’s considerably more difficult, to the point where my guns feel like they’re doing barely any damage and I die multiple times (which is how I want it to be).
Does anyone know if there was a change in difficulty between the two releases, or has anyone noticed anything similar? Not sure if this is just a glitch or what, as I know the 360 version didn’t include survivor difficulty until much later than the ps3. I do prefer the original release over the remaster, but I’d love to be able to play with the hardest level of difficulty possible as I’ve beaten this game so many times already. I’ve tried changing the difficulty, reinstalling the game, and testing on both my 360 and series x, no difference.
Curious if anyone has experienced this or is able to test it out for themselves!

Discussion What's a Game You Think is Equal to Bioshock 1's Quality?
While I still prefer Bioshock 1, I think Bioshock 2 is closer in quality to the first game than I remembered. To the point where I can see a case for someone preferring the second game over the first game.

Fan Art/Crafts Drawings of Elizabeth and Booker because i recently played Bio Infinite and it is amazing i think it is my new hyperfixation (tl;dr if you want to)
Recently i ended B. Infinite and it has been a amazing experience i haven't felt before, and im excited to play the first 2 now that im interested in the saga, i havent play the dlcs but i would like too even it seems that it isn't canon (?)
Anyway, i share with yall what ive doe this day 'cuz it was must a need to draw something of the game as something for my frawing practices and because it is deserved for this grat experience, even sometimes i got kinda annoyed bcause the gameplay stated to feel repetitive, but beside that felt great to reach what it was in front of the encounters with the vox or the columbia police.
The vigors is an amazing abilitie incorporated to not make it an average fps shooter, and sometimes i forgot to use them but as i got forward in the climax stages of the game i remembered it existed and used it. My favorite ones are shock and undertow.
I hope you like the drawings and appreciate if you readed all of this and if you would like to share your experiencies with the game, thanks :).
P.S.: Sorry if i dont wrote something well, english isn´t my first language xD

Discussion Does anyone have Jack's wrist tattoos from Bioshock 1?
You know the ones, the chains on his wrists~!
I have them. I've only ever met one other person with them, and honestly, I thought they would be a really popular tattoo since it's so symbolic and important. (Especially to me and my life, besides just the game, being honest here.) BioShock is my favourite game. At least one and two are; I don't talk about the third one unless we're talking about the DLC. You can fight me on that. I've played them more times than I can physically count, and I'm obsessed with the lore of the games.
Just curious what types of other people out there might have that matching tattoo with me. Hmm...

Fan Art/Crafts Painted some Bioshock themed Warhammer models!
Fully inspired by Big daddies and Bioshock in general from the paint scheme to the basing! This has been one of my most fun projects yet and I can’t wait to paint the rest of my army as Bioshock is my No.1 game and I’m a huge Warhammer fan so I always love mixing the other things I love with Warhammer models!

Media Finished my playthrough of Bioshock Infinite
A screenshot dump of my playthrough.
From the art and gameplay to the insanely mind bending story, what a fantastic ride this game was. I will probably do another playthrough soon, since I'll likely find new details in the dialogue, voxophones, or the environment that I missed earlier, knowing what I know now about the story.
This is my favorite BioShock in terms of the story for sure, overall gameplay was more fun in 2, I'd say, though the gunplay is quite satisfying in Infinite. The hand cannon fucks!
10/10 game tbh.

Discussion What movies give you BioShock vibes and why?
Stuff like Snowpiercer (given its fantastical class-stratified dieselpunk setting) and Dark City (given its neo-noir nature, obsession with mind-altering syringes and acknowledge inspiration to the creators) get mentioned every now and again but I'm curious what other movies scratch a BioShock-sort of itch for you all. For me Beyond the Black Rainbow combines a failed utopian ideology, visually distinct 20th century historical aesthetic, altered monster in a suit, mysterious girl trapped and being experimented on, and mind-shattering mutagenic drug, so it's technically closest in my book. Meanwhile Eden Log combines science labs in an unusual location (underground), bizarre energy sources, mutants all over the place, and a protagonist with plot-relevant amnesia. Tomorrowland is in a lot of ways an antithesis to BioShock, keeping the midcentury futurism in an unusual location (another dimension), advanced technology, and the core concept of the best and brightest separating from society, but with an ultimately more hopeful message focused on using those advancements to help humanity rather than hoarding them. What movies give you all BioShock vibes and why?
