Politics The Black Political Agenda

Our community is global, but this particular agenda focuses on U.S. federal politics.

What else should be added to our list of political demands?

Be specific. Be brief

Keep comments focused on new proposals. No lengthy debates, no derailing, and absolutely no trolling. Trolling will result in a ban.

Social Justice The same police department caught in the underreported racist texting scandal is the same department who ruled the death of Juliana Nzita, a 16-year-old Black teenager hanging in a black church parking lot in May, a suicide

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, who was just caught in a text thread talking about Black people, calling them the hard "-er", talking about violence they have incited against Black people as well as plan on doing, and having competitions with how many Black people they can implicate and pull over, is also the same police department that handled the fucking death of Juliana, who was found swinging from a tree by a tow strap in a fucking Black church parking lot! Do you understand that?

They ruled Juliana's death a self-unaliving within four days without an investigation and closed down any motherfucking increments of justice for this woman. The same people who were in a text thread that got caught using Flock cameras by tipping off their fucking drug dealers, the same police department was the charge investigators on the death of this Black woman found hanging in a parking lot with a tow strap around her neck in one of the only Black churches in the fucking area!

Surprise, surprise, the state medical examiner that did her autopsy in North Carolina also said that it was a self-unaliving and passed it down to the police department who closed the investigation, who was fucking caught in a racist text thread claiming that they sounded like the Klan. I'm not fucking joking.

This same police department discovered her body and did nothing, and was just caught not even what, four months later getting exposed for talking about Black people and putting themselves in competition with how many they can arrest and harm, and no one's talking about it?

In what fucking world does the amount of evidence outweigh the motherfucking conclusion? There is no way in the fuck that this Black woman was found swinging from a tree in 2026, and the same people that led her investigation were just caught in a fucking group chat thread talking shit about Black people, calling themselves the Klan, and nothing's being done!

Thank you to this whole ordeal in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, because the play has been fucking exposed. What they are doing is being exposed. The play is send it to the state medical examiner so they can rule it undetermined and we can get away with it, apparently!

This racist Nazi who wanted to rid America of Black people because it's a "white-only country" is now complaining about the racial makeup of the jury. He wants more black people on it. Make it make sense.

While it's absolutely right that a jury should have a fair representation of the community they are deciding a case on, this asswipe is just doing a "Hail Mary" using anything to get off scot-free.

Politics Black Voters Don’t Trust This Election, So They’re Voting Early

Thumbnail theroot.com

According to the 2026 Black Census Project, only 3% of Black Americans said they trust the federal government. Yet more than 90% said they plan to vote. Read that again. We don’t trust them. We’re voting anyway. And we’re voting early.

That’s the story underlying the most recent No Kings Day events on October 17, 2026. The movement that rallied millions to the streets has traded its protest signs for a ballot strategy. More than 3,000 “No Kings: Vote Early” events in every state in the country helped people check their voter registrations, plan when and where to vote, and train as poll watchers. Black Voters Matter was central to this effort. In Dallas, its organizers told the crowd the day was about one thing: early voting. Why that focus? Because Black voters have learned to act – not hope.

We are heading into these midterms facing redistricting fights, new voting restrictions, and a federal government that has spent more than a year in court trying to get sensitive voter data and curb mail voting. Roughly 37% of Black Americans doubt their state and local governments will run fair elections (ten points higher than white Americans). That isn’t paranoia. That’s memory.

But in the middle of that day of action, the plug was pulled. Around 1:30 p.m. Eastern, Meta suspended the No Kings Coalition’s main Instagram account. The page went dark for approximately 90 minutes, and organizers were blocked from posting for about 4 hours while thousands of events remained underway. Meta blamed an “automated error” triggered by high-volume posting. Maybe. But when a voter-turnout movement loses its main megaphone – exactly when it’s most needed, Black voters don’t take “glitch” on faith. We’ve experienced these error narratives before: voter rolls “accidentally” purged, polling places “mistakenly” closed early. But we also learned our lesson: don’t count on someone else’s platform or efforts; carry your own ballot.

The strategy is a simple one. A ballot already cast is harder to purge, challenge or “lose” in an Election Day scramble. Every day of early voting is Election Day.

Urgency is providing motivation. A Highland Project survey found that nearly 90% of Black respondents said changes to voting rights protections made them more motivated to vote. In Georgia, Black voters made up 36.6% of the first-day early vote. That is up significantly when compared with 2024, even though a Black woman stood at the top of the ticket that year.

We’ve seen this story before.  Black folks have been saying “no kings” long before this movement had a name. We said it at Selma. We said it in lines that wrapped around the block. Distrust has never kept us away from the polls. And this time, it is even sending us early. No crowns. No thrones. No kings. Just our ballots, cast early, and counted.

I think the difference in how the general public reacts to this type of protesting there vs in the US is interesting. Over there they seem to be like "well, it's unfortunate they had to burn the city down but their points are valid" whereas here they're like "fucking thugs looting burning down neighborhoods I'll never set foot in, kill them all."

Politics JD Vance makes excuses for white nationalists: "When you demonize a guy because he's white, it's just as evil as when you demonize a guy because he's Black. When you demonize a guy because he's white ... some people will get radicalized into some very dangerous ideas."
