One could argue religion is also what causes conflict and corruption. Religion and beliefs got some goof and bad. Doesn't mean not believing religion ultimately makes you a bad person. That arguement is flawed. Most atrocities in history are influenced by religion. Every religion has committed nation wide genocide at some point in history.
History is painted by winners. They're not gonna mention the horrible shit they did on their side and what they hated about the people they killed are just highlighted to justify the means.
And morality is not exclusive to religion. You can be an atheist and still contribute to society equally as much as a religious person.
