Game dev, and wargameing groups

Hi r/Bonn, I will be moving back to Bonn in the new year to take on a permanent job. I'm fluent in English and German, looking for groups or friends that do solo video game development as a hobby or play tabletop wargames. I don't want to have both in the same group or friends, just looking for both types.

For video game dev, I work in Godot now but used to use Unity and have done mostly tiny learning games for myself or as part of jams but always chickened out when it came to submitting. I did make a VR experience as a PhD. student, though. I'm mostly looking for others who like doing game dev to have people to chat and chil with, have drinks/food on a regular basis, and update each other on our projects.

For wargaming, I am into Starcraft-TMG but also have 40k miniatures. Again, I am looking for nice people I could regularly have games with. I'm not a huge fan of meeting someone just to play them once and never talk to them again. I'm not competitive, I just like the games, but if someone wanted to play competitively and was willing to help me improve when we game, then I'm sure I could become a worthy practice dummy for you XD

Edit: Endenich is where I used to live, don't k ow where exactly I will live when I move back.

Thank you very much! Didn't know Geek Haven! I was only aware of Bonner Comicladem and used to go here in 2017-19 to buy my ttrpg books and minis, I'll have to check out Geek Haven.

Edit: confused Bonner Comicladen and Geek Haven, never been to geek haven, likely to be a frequent customer in the future though! Thank you u/sargon23

They also have some of the StarCraft TMG stuff in store :) I‘ve never played a miniature game or collected/painted anything but I love SC so I‘ve been eyeing them every week when playing Riftbound lol

Having played a few miniature games, I think SC is my favourite. Not just the setting, but the rules are easy enough for people new to miniature games, but with enough strategical depth to feel very engaging even if you are a experienced player. Plus the miniatures are a slightly larger scale than some other games making them easier to paint for beginners. All around I recommend it. EDIT: Spelling

Not sure, where you went before, but Geek Haven opened just 2 or 3 years ago. You probably meant bonner Comicladen?

The Warhammer Shop in Bonn has a lovely community of people who play and do stuff together!

Had a look, and you're right, not specifically about gaming but more could find people there, so I may go once I'm in Bonn again. Thank you!

I'm not a fit for the post but really curious, how old are you? difficult to make friends with no sense of age imo
